ACT II ▬▬▬▬ invisible string

     HAILEY OMEGA PULLED THE LIGHT FLANNEL OFF HER SHOULDERS  AS SHE WALKED THE SHORT DISTANCE THROUGH THE WOODS TO EMILYS CABIN. Hailey had always ran hot, and as it came into the summer months — it was increasingly annoying, but for some reason even though it was October it was increasingly warm.

     When the cullens came back they did indeed bring a friend and someone that everyone knew. Jessica omega had finally arrived home— and Hailey was pissed. The teen refused to vouch for her aunt, she was the mate of a bloodsucker — they still didn't know who. That just made it worse.

     Let's just say Hailey changed the locks and threw the keys for the diner right back at her aunt.

    Fliers had been printed and posted around town, the disappearance of a local boy not that much older than Hailey herself and a string of murders in Seattle. The wolves and therefore Hailey knew what it was, vampires — but most civilians were to blind to realise what lurked in the shadows.

   Hailey watched her feet as she relished in the sound of the dead leaves crunching under her feet.

     "Feeling the sun, Omega?" Jared called his he slipped down the steps. A large grin overtaking his face as he laughed, his arm quickly slinging around Haileys neck, causing the girl to roll her eyes and sway them back and forth as they walked.

   "Oh suck one, Jared" Hailey mumbled, knocking into him as they walked into the small home. Hailey detached herself from Jared side, and walked towards Leah. She could feel Paul's eyes on her, but she ignored them as she sat down beside her and threw her legs on the shifters lap. Leah immediately smiled and pinched Hailey's calf. "Ay!" She reprimanded, slapping Leah's hand away.

     Paul's eyes lingered, they hadn't spoken since the kiss. Hailey had been berating herself ever since — how could she disrespect herself that much too kiss him?

   "So? Bella back in Edwardo's arms yet or?" Hailey questioned, looking around the room — more specifically at Jacob black whose jaw was clenched in frustration.

    "Yeah, did we expect any different?" Leah mumbled, although everyone in the room could hear perfectly what she said. Leah hadn't always been so bitter when it came to love and romance, she used to be a hopeless romantic — but then Sam imprinted. She now understands why, but cannot comprehend how he went about it.

He still hurt her. She's still hurt.

       "No we did not.." Haliey nodded, her eyes trailing around the room before landing on Jared who opened his mouth but then shut it again. "What?" She rolled her eyes.

    "So have you spoke to your aunt.." Jared asked, his eyes widened slightly as he braced himself in case of having to make an emergency exit.

    Hailey scoffed, "nope, she doesn't deserve to be graced with my amazing presence there for she can live it up with the canibals for the rest of her dying days."

    "Well that's.." embry mumbled, swallowing slightly as an awkward tension surrounded the room.

    "Edward and Bella went to Florida" Seth chimed in as his head popped up from the sofa.

       Hailey's eyebrows furrowed. "A sparkling vamp' in Florida?" The girl couldn't help but laugh. It was stupid, a vampire in one of the sunniest states —he had to be confined to the four walls of whenever they were staying. Fucking hilarious, that.

        Seth nods enthusiastically, "yeah Jake's pissed, he thinks they're turning her into a leech. I think they're just on vacation you know, like who's to say vampires don't like swimming you know" Seth rambled on, but he was cut off as a loaf of bread hit him in the face, curtesy of Jacob himself.

      "Not cool, Jacob. Not cool" Seth spoke menacingly, he narrowed his eyes at jake before bringing his index and middle finger up in front of his eyes and then pointing back at the boy multiple times as he stalked around the couch.

      Sam towards the pack and co, "it's warm out, and you all deserve a break. We'll head to the beach, foot ball and cliff diving sound good?" The man asked, the pack's reaction confirming his idea was good.

    Emily smiled ass the boys bustled around as she grasped a blanket and a bag. The boys ran from the house, pushing and shoving each other jokingly as they made their way down the path.

            Leah trailed behind them silently and Emily and Sam walked in between them.

     Hailey grasped her bag, standing up she was blocked from leaving. Paul stood there, "we need to talk."

Hailey scoffed, "oh hell no" she shook her head, trying to get passed him. Paul's hands grabbed her shoulders, holding her in place.

"and if I screamed." She threatened, but Paul wasn't all that concerned.

He chuckled, "you won't,". Hailey sucked in a deep breath and just as she opened her mouth Paul's hand covered it. She immediately stuck her tongue out causing him to retract his hand just as quickly as he had placed it there.

He looked at her, "your a child." Hailey shrugged, tossing her bag on the floor before pulling a chair behind her to sit down.

"So you've said."

       Paul sighed, running a hand through his cropped hair. "Listen ever since we kissed you've barely spoken a word that wasn't forced from you to me" he said breathlessly, he wanted so badly to be mad — he just couldn't.

    Hailey scoffed, it almost sounded like a laugh. "You told me I'm your soulmate, excuse me if I'm a little taken aback."

     Paul shook his head, "what do you want me to say, Hails. As much as I want to, I can't change the past" he exclaimed, although his voice came out strained.

     Hailey looked at him, her lips pursuing. "I've tried, believe me I've tried to hard to forgive you — I just can't." Paul's expression dropped.

            "You know how I feel about trust, and you shattered any I had for you, it's not just something I can look past because the ancestors or the creator thinks I'm your best bet at procreation or whatever the reason for the imprint is." She explained slowly, although her voice crackled slightly — something that if Paul didn't have supernatural senses, he would've missed.

     Paul nodded, swallowing the lump that was forming in his throat. "I get    it... but I'll wait for you, no matter how long it takes. Your it for me, Hailey. You always have been."
