𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎........

vanessa took one look at who was calling her and immediately declined the call, yes it was wrong to ignore your boyfriend's calls but she really could not stand his constant calls especially when she had told him she had to study, but of course he wouldn't understand since he basically dropped out of school to become a footballer even though vanessa felt that was extremely stupid but it was none of her business.

her phone started to ring again and to her utmost annoyance it was exactly who she thought it was.

𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐎........

he had already called her 5 times today and each time it was just to tell her about how julian and erling were bullying him in training, something she couldn't care less about. normally, she wouldn't be this upset about him constantly calling her, most times she found it cute but she had specifically told him not to call her today since she would be busy studying but he just couldn't do that.

she decided she would pick up and set him straight.

"rico what the hell, i told you not to call me today."

"i'm sorry, i just missed your voice."

"i miss you too, but i told you i'm studying."

"i know but i just thought we could talk for 5 minutes"

"5 minutes is a lot of time."

"please?"

"alright, what did you want to talk about?"

"how much i want to see you."

vanessa didn't even know what to say to this, all she could do was smile at her boyfriend's sweet words. she was used to this as rico had a way with words or rather he knew his way around her heart.

"when are you done with exams, i want to you to come to one of my games."

"next week friday"

"alright, i'm coming to pick you on saturday"

"you're coming to my school?"

"where else would i go?"

"you can come pick me up from rory's"

"why don't you want me to come to your school?"

vanessa bit her lip thinking of how to put this the nicest way possible, the truth was that her school was filled over-achieving academics and snobs and they were extremely judgmental, she didn't think her 18 year old boyfriend coming to pick her up in his rolls-royce would be a good idea.

"you're basically famous, i don't want you to get trampled by fans."

"who cares, that happens to me almost everyday."

"yeah but the kids at my school are crazy."

"crazier than teenage girls at a football game?"

"look babe, i just don't think it's a good idea for you to show up here."

"are you embarrassed to be with me?"

"no i'm not, it's just.."

"what do have you to say v?"

"it's just the fact that we're so different and everyone here is so judgmental and snobby, i just don't want you to go through that."

"you deal with the psycho fan girls everyday, i can deal with a few snobs."

"you love to talk about how you have so many fan girls."

"what can i say, you've got a wanted man."

"oh do i?"

"mhmm, sure do." as he finished speaking he heard an alarm ringing from vanessa's end and before he could ask what it was she answered the question for him.

"rico we've spent five minutes on this call, i have to go."

"one more minute?"

"i already told you, i'm on a tight scedule."

"alright, i lov-"

before rico could even finish his sentence she had cut the call. rico loved his girlfriend he really did but she never had time for him. that was the thing with vanessa, you could have a great day with her and she could decline all your calls and ignore your messages the next day and claim she was studying. 

some of his teammates had tried to make rico think she was cheating on him and that was why she never had time to talk to him on the phone but he knew vanessa and he knew she was a hard-worker and took her academics very seriously, he just wished she would see he was just as important as her academics.

rico let out a loud sigh in the manchester city changing rooms as he stuffed his phone into his duffel bag.

"what's wrong, it is the missus again?" kyle walker asked as he entered the empty changing room.

"yeah, she's just always busy."

"sorry about that bro." kyle said putting his arm on the boy's shoulder

"nah, it's calm."

"doesn't seem calm."

"don't worry about it."

"look, i've got a lot of experience with women, and if there's one thing i know nothing is ever calm." kyle said as he sat down beside rico

"what do you mean?"

"i mean when i thought everything was alright with annie, she goes and leaves me, i mean i don't even understand."

kyle continued to rant about his very shameful situation with his wife and baby mama as rico looked at him wondering how the hell he ended up being the one to comfort kyle about his concerning home life.

"i just i don't know what i'm doing with my life anymore." kyle finally finished his rant after 5 whole minutes

"sorry about that kyle, it'll get better."  rico said tapping his back as the older man had his head in his hands

"yeah thanks for the talk reeks, you're a good guy, i hope your girlfriend finally sees that."

"thanks boss, and i hope so too."

vanessa sighed as she posted on instagram and made sure to mute her comments, this was the only way she could deal with the crazy fan girls rico had mentioned earlier. from the day he first posted her, they had been swarming her comment section and she knew better than to reply to any of them but when vanessa found that every single comment on her posts were hate comments she couldn't deal with it anymore and decided to turn off her comments.

it wasn't like vanessa had never gotten hate before, in fact she was quite familiar with people examining her every move since she grew up with overbearing parents who always wanted her to be the best girl she could possibly be, it was the fact that these girls picked apart every single thing about her, from her hair to the way she stood in some pictures, and she just couldn't deal with it anymore.

she turned her phone off and continued studying, her classes weren't going to ace themselves!
