Draco looked around the Slytherin Common Room and saw some boys were awake and some weren't. He sighed deeply and sat down on the couch, stretched his legs, and waited for Crabbe and Goyle.

While he was waiting, he noticed Pansy just coming towards him after talking to Stacey.

"What do you want?" Draco asked her, furrowing his eyebrows.

"You seem bothered. Are you alright?" She asked.

Draco looked away and gazed at the fireplace instead. 'The view of the fire is much better than seeing her face.' He huffed. "I am. Now leave me alone."

In the corner of his eye, Draco saw her nodded and exited the room. He was about to look away until he saw Stacey waving at him. He blinked repeatedly in confusion and surprise before shaking his head and taking a deep breath, grabbing a red apple on the side table beside the couch. Draco shrugged and grabbed one, taking a bite. 'I still prefer green apples.'

Draco took another bite and looked at the ring you gave him last Christmas. 'I have to apologize to her. But she might never forgive me. I insulted and offended her friends.'

Draco sighed deeply and finished his apple. After he was done, Draco threw it in a bin. He glanced at Crabbe and Goyle who were walking towards him. "What took you guys so long? Come on."

It was Transfiguration class. Goyle and Draco sat just behind Harry and Ron while you sat beside Hermione and rested your chin on your palm that was placed on the desk. Hermione looked at you worriedly. "Are you alright?"

You nodded. "Yeah. Just... thinking..."

Hermione was about to speak but Professor McGonagall came. She went in front and started talking. "Could I have your attention, please? Now, today, we will be transforming animals into... water goblets."

You continued to listen to her. You felt eyes looking at you so you looked at the person who was staring. Grey eyes filled with worry met yours as Draco slightly jumped when you caught him staring and quickly put his attention back to Professor McGonagall.

"1... 2... 3! Vera Verto." Professor McGonagall cast a spell that turned the bird into a water goblet.

Harry and Ron gasped and so did the other students. You expressed nothing, too tired to express anything. You knew the spell already since you've read that in books. You were a bit down and needed something to enlighten you today.

"Now it's your turn. Who would like to go first?" McGonagall asked as she walked around. "Oh! Mr. Weasley, why don't you try?"

The other students watched him gulped and cleared his throat. He pointed his broken wand at Scabbers. "Vera Verto!" Since his wand was broken, Scabbers turned into a water goblet but with his fur and tail on. Needless to say, his task failed successfully.

The students giggled including Harry. Ron picked up Scabbers-goblet and observed it with an uneasy look. You just smiled and found it a bit amusing.

"That wand needs replacing, Mr. Weasley." Professor sighed. She was about to walk away but Hermione shot her hand up. "Yes, Ms. Granger?"

Hermione put her hand back down and looked at McGonagall. "Professor, I was wondering if you could tell us about the Chamber of Secrets."

'Finally. Something good.' Your eyes flickered in curiosity as you leaned closer. Draco glanced at Hermione then turned back to Professor McGonagall.

Professor Minerva McGonagall stared at everyone. Seeing everyone's faces turned all serious and were filled with curiosity, she sighed. "Very well. Well, you all know, of course, that Hogwarts was founded over a thousand years ago, by the four greatest witches and wizards of the age. Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff, Rowena Ravenclaw, and Salazar Slytherin. Now, three of the founders co-existed quite harmoniously. One did not."

"Three guesses who," Ron whispered to Harry.

McGonagall started walking around as she told the story. "Salazar Slytherin wished to be more selective about the students admitted to Hogwarts. He believed magical learning should be kept within all-magic families. In other words, pure-bloods."

Your eyes landed on Draco who was looking at Hermione while Hermione gave him a death glare.

"Unable to sway the others, he decided to leave the school. Now according to legend, Slytherin had built a hidden chamber in this castle, known as the Chamber of Secrets. Though, shortly before departing, he sealed it until that time when his own true heir returned to the school. The heir alone would be able to open the chamber and unleash the horror within, and by so doing, purge the school of all those who, in Slytherin's view, were unworthy to study magic."

"Muggle-borns." Hermione sighed.

McGonagall nodded. "Well, naturally the school has been searched many times. No such chamber has been found."

"Professor? What exactly does legend tell us... lies within the Chamber?" You finally asked earning a glance from Draco and an eye roll from Stacey.

"The Chamber is said to be hold to something only by the Heir of Slytherin can control. It is said to be the home... of a monster..."

You looked down while Hermione closed her eyes. You turned to your other friends' table, seeing Harry who was focused on Professor McGonagall. You noticed Ron looking worried before immediately turning around to see Draco smirking.

You and your friends were walking in the hallway together, going to your next class. "Do you think it's true?" Ron asked worriedly. "Do you think there really is a Chamber of Secrets?"

Hermione gave Ron a look. "Yes." She answered. "Couldn't you tell? McGonagall's worried. All the teachers are."

"But if there really is a Chamber of Secrets," Harry added. "And it really has been opened, then that means..."

Hermione nodded. "The Heir of Slytherin has returned to Hogwarts."

"The question is, who is it?" You asked looking at the ground, trying to think. You and your friends immediately noticed Draco, Crabbe, and Goyle passing by not even interrupting nor stopping to ridicule your friends.

"Let's think. Who do we know who thinks all Muggle-borns are scum?" Ron asked sarcastically as he tried to call out Draco without name dropping him.

"If you're talking about Malfoy..." You sighed, glancing at Ron.

"Of course!" Ron exclaimed. "You heard him. 'You'll be next Mudbloods'."

Hermione raised her eyebrow. "It was Stacey Doom who said it, Ronald. But Malfoy, the Heir of Slytherin?"

"But maybe Ron's right, Hermione." Harry intervened. "I mean, look at his family. All of them were in Slytherin for centuries!"

You cocked an eyebrow. "Most families here were in Slytherin for centuries. Even my family."

Harry blinked in surprise. "Then you must be the first Gryffindor in your family?"

"My grandmother was." You corrected.

Ron came into realization. "Crabbe and Goyle must know. Maybe we can trick them to tell us!"

"Even they aren't that thick." You replied.

"But there might be a way..." Hermione told causing all three of you to stop and face her. Hermione sighed. "Mind you, it would be difficult. And not to mention, we'd be breaking about fifty school rules. And it will be dangerous. Very dangerous."

You all went to the library and waited for Hermione to get a book while the three of you looked around. Finally, Hermione came back but your disappointment, she didn't have the book. "Did you find it?" Harry asked.

Hermione shook her head. "No. Someone must have taken it. Maybe we can wait for it later?"

"You were looking for this?"

The four of you looked at a Ravenclaw student who was holding the book that Hermione was looking for. And the Ravenclaw student was your younger sister, Megan.

"Megan?" You asked. "How did you know--"

"(Y/n), I know when you're up to trouble." Megan replied as she hugged the book closer to her. "And this time, you're not getting this book unless you tag me along."

You were about to scold her until you sighed in frustration. "Alright, fine. You can tag along but just this once."

Megan grinned. "Brilliant." She quickly gave the book to Hermione and grinned brightly. "What are you looking for anyway?

"Here it is. The Polyjuice Potion." Hermione declared as she turned to the page of the said potion and read the description. "Properly brewed, the Polyjuice Potion allows the drinker to transform himself temporarily into the physical form of an another."

"You mean if Harry and I drink that stuff, we'll turn into Crabbe and Goyle? With that potion, we can turn into Crabbe and Goyle!" Ron asked excitedly.

"Yes."

"Wicked." Ron grinned, glancing at Harry. "Malfoy will tell us anything."

"Exactly." Hermione's face turned into worry and looked down at the book.

Megan's eyebrows furrowed in surprise. "But that's a tricky potion. That's like a complicated potion to make."

"How long will it take to make?" Harry asked.

You glanced down at the book until sighing. "A month."

"A month?" Harry gasped. "But..." He looked around to see if anyone else was listening. When he saw no one, he turned back to Hermione and you. "If Malfoy is the Heir of Slytherin, he could attack half of the Muggle-borns in the school by then."

You furrowed your eyebrows and crossed your arms. "He wouldn't. I know Malfoy or at least..." You looked down and sighed. "I knew him..."

Hermione sighed and stared at Harry. "Harry, it's the only plan we've got."
