LEGO HOUSE

thirteen.          family meeting

"FUCK, I'VE MISSED YOU." He muttered against her, earning a soft giggle before she pecked his lips once more and leaned back a little.

"I love you."

He had never been weak in the knees before, but just those three little words had him ready to be on his knees before her if she so much as asked. "Say it again. Please." He begged, one hand moving up her spine to push her closer to him. "Please."

"I love you." It was nothing more than a whisper but he swore his heart did somersaults in his chest. "I love you." She repeated once more before pressing her lips against his, it was slower. Like she was savoring it, she also liked that he was getting worked up over it.

With a low growl, he quickly made his way towards the bed and in no less than a second he was on top of her and his lips were melded to hers like she was his lifeline.

She quickly flipped them, her legs straddling his waist as she kissed down his jaw as his hands groped her thighs. "I think I like being stronger than you." She hummed between the kisses she was leaving down his neck.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah." She nodded as she sat up, her hands on his chest as she looked down at him.

"Well, I hope you don't like this dress."

"What? Wh-" but before she could get the question out he sat up and ripped it right down the front before tossing the scraps to the floor. "Emmett!" It came out as more of a shocked giggle than anything else.

"It was in my way." He shrugged, his hands on her sides and he titled his head back a little to look up at her with a boyish smile on her lips.

"You're crazy." She chuckled.

He simply nodded. "Yeah, but you love me."

"Yeah." She connected their lips again as he wrapped his arm around her waist, once again flipping them but before he had any time to explore the rest of her exposed skin, the door opened. And while Cori rolled to the side, pulling the sheets over herself, Emmett moved so his body was covering her from his brother's eyeline.

"Aww, look at you two." He mused. "Sneaking away to have sex. They grow up so fast."

"What, Travis?" Emmett gritted out, his teeth clenched and his eyes narrowed.

"Oh, yeah. We're kind of having a family meeting. Alice had a vision about Seattle." He told them, rocking back on his heels, but made no move to leave the room.

"Get out!" Emmett threw a pillow at him, which he dodged before stepping out of the room and closing the door.

"He saw me naked." Cori mumbled, her eyes on the ceiling.

"Yep, I have to kill him." He nodded as he turned to face her, expecting to get some kind of laugh from her, but she just looked at the same spot. "Shortcake? Are you okay?"

"Is this gonna be awkward?" She asked as she looked over at him, keeping the sheet pulled up to her chin.

"It's Travis." He rested his hand on her thigh, over the sheet. "So no. He might make a few jokes, but that's because he's an idiot. Besides, it's not like you're completely naked."

"Ture." She mumbled and he chuckled as he leaned over and kissed her forehead.

"And you're beautiful. You shouldn't have to hide that." He tugged on the sheet. "Especially from me." She smiled as he tugged the sheet from her hands and tossed it to the side. "You're perfect." He leaned over and pressed his lips against hers, before she put her hands on his chest and pushed him up. "Why?" He pouted.

"Family meeting. Remember?"

"Right." He mumbled as he pushed himself up and straightened out his clothes.

"I need a shirt." She sat up in the bed, her arms crossed over her chest and he nodded as he made his way to the closet, only to return with a sweater.

"It's a bit big, but it'll do." He smirked. "Besides, you look good in my clothes."

"Stop it." She muttered, a smile playing on her lips and a playful glare in her eyes. "We have to go." She tugged the sweater over her head then pushed herself up, her high-top converse slapping lightly against the floor. "Come on." She latched onto his hand then they left the room and made their way to Carlisle's office.

The pair getting a few weird looks from the humans that took up the Cullen house. It wasn't much of a surprise though, his hair was a little disheveled, a smirk played on his lips, and all the girl wore was his shirt and her converse.

"...Riley Biers." Was the first thing either of them heard as they made their way into the room, getting a small smirk from Travis.

"That kid dad's been looking for?" Cori questioned as she made her way over to the desk, Emmett close behind her.

"Yeah." Edward nodded as she lifted herself into the desk and Emmett leaned against it, his palm flat against the wood behind her. "But he didn't start this."

"Whoever did is staying out of the action." Alice noted, slightly frustrated with the situation.

"They must be playing with the blind spots in your vision." Carlisle told her.

"Either way, the army is coming–" Jasper stated. "–and there aren't enough of us to protect the town."

"What can we do?" Cori asked, her fingers toying with Emmett's hand in her lap.

But before anyone could answer her, Jacob cut in. "Hold on. What damn army?"

"Newborns. Our kind." Carlisle answered.

"What are they after?" Embry asked, looking around the room, his eyes meeting Cori's for a moment.

"They were passing around Bella's scent. A red blouse." Alice explained as Jasper rubbed her back.

"They're after Bella?" Cori questioned, her eyes wide and her hand tightening around Emmett's. "My sister Bella? That Bella?" She pointed across the room at the brunette.

"Yeah." Alice nodded, giving the girl a soft smile. She knew her nerves were getting the best of her, they had all come to notice her tells pretty easily.

"What the hell does this mean?" Jacob asked, clearly worried as he shifted on his feet.

"It means an ugly fight. With lives lost." Carlisle replied and Cori swallowed, trying to get rid of the lump that had formed in her throat again. Emmett turned, his eyes on his mate as she gripped his hand a little harder and tugged on his sleeve. He shifted his weight a little and moved his other hand to her back, dragging it up and down her spine in hopes of calming her a little bit. She sent him a grateful smile before she leaned against him, her head on his chest.

"All right." Jacob nodded, his eyes on Carlisle once again. "We're in."

"No." Bella shook her head, her tone firm. "You'd get yourselves killed. No way."

"I wasn't asking for permission."

Bella looked over at the vampire at her side, hoping he'd agree with her. "Edward?"

"It means more protection for you." He told her and she just looked at him, not believing that he was agreeing.

"Jacob, do you believe Sam would agree to...an understanding?" Carlisle asked the wolf.

"As long as we get to kill some vampires."

"Offensive." Cori mumbled under her breath and Emmett kissed her temple, he knew how much it bothered her that Jacob would barely look at her.

"Jasper?" Carlisle turned towards his son, an unasked question floating around.

"They'll give us the numbers." He answered, looking the wolves up and down. "Newborns won't know they exist. That'll give us an edge."

"We'll need to coordinate."

"Carlisle, they're gonna get hurt." Bella protested, hoping he'd call it all off.

"We'll all need some training. Fighting newborns requires knowledge that Jasper has. You're welcome to join us." He continued, looking over at the three wolves.

"All right. Name the time and place." Jacob nodded, stepping forward.

"Jake, you don't know what you're getting yourself into." Bella reasoned, wanting to talk him out of it.

"Bella, this is what we do. You should be happy. Look at us, working together. You are the one who wanted us to get along. Remember?"

"Then it's settled." Cori nodded, looking around the room before looking up at Emmett.
