ACT ONE - CHAPTER TWO

Rick opened the door.

in case you were wondering we were at a police station, the one where Rick used to work.

we walked down a hallway, Rick was holding up his flashlight so we could see.

Rick turned on one of the showers and my eyes widened when water started coming out, i haven't had a shower since all of this started because there's no power anywhere so no hot showers.

"Gas lines have been down for maybe a month." Morgan explained when Rick had turned on the water.

"The station's got its own propane system." Rick explains to us as he puts his hand under the running water. "pilot's still on." Rick says.

"WAIT!" i yelled as Duane began taking his shirt off. Rick turned to me and began laughing, i guess he forgot i wasn't a boy.

"Sweetheart there's a womans restroom right down the hall, the first door on your right." Rick told me.

"thank you, Rick" I told him with a smile as i picked up my stuff and i found it, i took a nice warm shower and it was amazing, i felt like i took ages to get done, i realised i needed knew clothes soon, so i wrote that on a little note i had in my jacket after putting all my clothes back on, it was a list of things i felt like was important, there was food, water, weapons for safety and then new clothes.

i went over to a locker that was open, and there was a gun and ammo, a set of trowing knifes and other knifes, a black bow with black arrows.

"Conserve your ammo. It goes faster than you think, especially at target practice." Rick informed Morgan and Duane as they all went outside the police station.

"Duane." Morgan said.

"Uh-huh?" He answered his dad.

"Take this to the car." Morgan instructed and Duane did.

"Are you sure you won't come along?" Rick asked.

"A few more days. By then Duane will know how to shoot and i won't be so rusty." Morgan explained, it did make sence why he wanted to wait a few more days.

"You've got one battery. I'll turn mine on a few minutes every day at dawn. You get up there, that's how you'll find us." Rick said as he handed Morgan a walkie-talkie.

"You think ahead." Morgan said as he started walking to his car.

"Can't afford no to, not anymore." Rick said as he rounded his police car to still speak to Morgan, Valentina followed.

"Listen, one thing... They may not seem like much one at a time, but in a group, all riled up and hungry... Man, you watch your ass." Morgan explained to Rick, personally Valentina had only stubled across aa group of walkers once, fortunetly for her she wasn't alone.

"You too." Rick said.

"Walkers in groups are fucking terrifying." Valentina spoke up her opinion.

"Watch your language young lady." Morgan spoke to her with a slight glare just for fun like always.

"You're still not my dad Morgan." Valentina shot back at the man who laughed at her comment.

"I know, i know, that's why i think you should go with Rick, try and find your families together kid, find your dad." Morgan spoke to the girl, who's smile grew bigger at the suggestion of searching for her family.

"Thanks Morgan." Valentina spoke with her big smile still lingering on her face, she could finally go longer, she could finally go out there and find them.

"You're a good man, Rick. I hope you find your wife and son." Morgan said shaking Ricks hand.
"And i hope you find your father and your uncle, take care of her Rick, she's a sweet girl, i'd hope to see her again when we come find you."

"of course, she helped save me from getting bit and what not, i'll protect her until i take my last breath, i promise." Rick said, he looked as Valentina and gave her a smile which she returned.
"Be seeing you, Duane. Take care of your old man."

"Yes sir." Duane answered. Right after they all heard the familier sound of a walker growling.

"Leon Basset?" Rick asked then tried to get a better look at the walker.
"I didn't think much of him... Careless and dumb... but... I can't leave him like this." Rick finished, Leon continued to growl on the other side of the fence, wanting to get to them and take a bite of them.

"You know they'll hear the shot." Morgan informed Rick.

"Let's not be here when they show up. Valentina go wait in the car." Rick said Valentina nodded, but before she got in the car she hugged Duane, he was her friend after all.

Then the shot went off

(Yes i skipped the scene where Rick shoots the walker after he left Morgan and Duane)

"do you think we'll find them?" Valentina asked from the passenger seat.

"Yeah. Even if we don't have any luck finding my family, i'll help you find yours. I promise." Rick said as he smiled at the girl beside him.

"Thank you Rickie." Valentina said with a smirk on her face, she found the new nickname funny.

"It's just Rick." He laughed.

"Rickie."  Valentina insisted, she just wouldn't take no for an answer, it was not gonna happend.

"Fine." Rick gave up, even though he had barely tried. He was just happy that she was having fun.

"Broadcasting on emergency channel. Will be approaching Atlanta on Highway 85. Anybody reads, please respond. Hello. Hello. Can anybody hear my voice? Anybody out there? Anybody hears me, please respond. Hello, can you hear my voice? Hello. Hello. CAn anybody hear my voice? Can you hear my voice? If anybody reads, please respond. Broadcasting on emergency channel. Will be approaching Atlanta on Highway 85. If anybody reads, please respond." Rick kept trying and trying but no response.

"Comeon kiddo." Rick said as he stepped out of the car.

"Ugh, fine." Valentina responed, she rolled her eyes but stepped out of the car, and she followed after Rick.

"Hello? Police officer out here." Rick said as he put some of his bags.

"Rickie i don't think police really matters to anyone anymore, i think they have way bigger things to worry about, honestly i don't think anyone cares that you're a police officer" Valentina spoke honestly.

"Can i borrow some gas?" Rick ignored her comment.

Rick and Valentina walked up to the porch.

Rick knocked on the door but Valentina walked over to one of the windows.

"Ew.." Valentina spoke once she saw what was inside, two people dead, they had shot themselves in the heard.

After Rick and Valentina had both looked at that and had been completly grossed out they walked away from the porch.

Rick saw a car but unfotunetly for them there were no keys no nothing, then there was the sound of a horse right as they were about to leave.

"Easy now. Easy. I'm not gonna hurt you. Nothing like that. More like a proposal. Atlanta's just down the road a ways. It's safe there... Food, shelter, people. Other horses too, i bet. How's than sound? There we go. Good boy." Valentina was standing by the fence watching.

"You good back there?" Rick asked, Valentina was sitting behind him on the horse, she had the bags on her back so that they weren't in the way of her sitting there, her arms were tight around Ricks torso, afraid to fall, she had never once in her life sat on a horse.

"I'm good." She spoke whille nodding her head, both teriffied and excited.

"Let's go easy, okay? I haven't done this for years." Rick spoke to the horse, just as he said that the horse start running fast, Valentina tightened her arms aroundd Rick if that was even possible.

It was quiet in the city, you could hear birds here and there and oviously you could hear the sound of the horse walking, but other than that it was very quiet.

Then there were some walkers, it was only a few but it was enough to scare the horse.

There was a sound of a helicopter, both Rick and Valentina looked around trying to find where it was. Aparently Rick had spotted it, cause he got the horse to run faster, almost making Valentina fall in the process. Just as Rick rounded a corner there were a LOT of walkers, the horse freaked out and they turned around to run the other way. But just like before there were a lot of walkers.

The horse freaked out, the walkers were pulling, both Rick and Valentina fell down from the horse, Valentina drobbed the bags in the procces.

She crawled away as fast as she could, she saw the tank and crawled under it, she noticed a little latch/hatch (?) that she opened and crawled up, then a couple seconds later, Rick crawled under, he shot some walkers that were crawling after him, he thought he had lost Valentina, he thought she was dead, the walkers were close to getting him, so he put the gun to his head, but before he could pull the trigger Valentina used all of her strength to pull him up through the hole, he then crawled to the other end and let out a sigh of relief when he saw that it was her.

"Oh... God." He said once he saw the dead person beside him.

He reached over and took the gun from the corpse, then it moved and that's when they realised that it was a walker, Rick freaked out and shot it in the head without thinking, which resulted in a high-pitched rining to fill the ears of the man and the little girl, Valentina put her hands on her ears to try and drown out the sound but it didn't work.

Then strong arms pulled her up and her eyes adjusted and watched as walkers were climbing on top of the tank, the ringing was gone for both of them so Rick set her down inside again and closed the hatch on the top of the tank that he had previously opened.

"I'm scared..." It came out as a very low whisper, Rick looked over at the oviously scared girl, she was shaking in fear and sligthly flinched when the walkers would hit the tank, the sound scaring her.

"Hey, you. Dumbass. Yeah, you guys in the tank. Are you cozy in there?"

Short chapter i know but, i wanted it to end with what Glenn said, it is also the end of the first episode so i wanted to wait with writing more you know?

So we're officialy getting started, be ready for the next chapters cause that is when we get some more 'action' you know in episode two is when they meet the others and Glenn so that means Merle, also when they get back that means Daryl in not so long and i'm pretty excited to write that soon.

Also she's meeting Carl pretty soon !!

Anything you feel like could be diffrent? Writing style etc.

Also i am gonna be doing longer chapters this is again just because that's when the first episode ended and stuff.
