MYSTIC FALLS WAS smaller than Ellie thought it would be, and she kept fussing about how the roads were weird but so far she was enjoying her stay and found America to be interesting.

"So... what do you lot do around here?" Ellie asked as she put a French fry (of which she would call a chip, because that was what it was to her) into her mouth and began chewing.

"Mainly try to take down the bad guys," Ellie couldn't help but laugh at how Matt made it sound like they were in some cool action film.

"I meant when you don't have the weight of the world on your shoulders," ever since finding out the truth, Ellie had been the same. It hadn't changed her in the slightest, she had already apparently had a run in with a vampire before and survived so it made logical sense that they existed.

"Well, school or just hang out," Matt said.

"Or your friends try to murder my family," Rebekah said, making Ellie's eyes widen, "That's over now, sweets, don't worry,"

Ellie licked her fingers, trying to get the remnants of the French fries off of them before deciding that she should just go to the bathroom. She excused herself before getting up to go and left the table as Matt and Rebekah started flirting... for the billionth time that day.

As Ellie walked, she realised that she had came to a stop. Looking up she found Jeremy... but instead of a photo or on a screen it was just him. He was handsome, she would admit that, and he was staring at her with a small, knowing smile.

"H- hi?" it came out as a question, of which Jeremy had hoped it wouldn't.

He felt himself grow more nervous as he watched Ellie, he felt like he had around Anna or Vicki except it was different... more pure.

"Hi," Ellie said, giving him a small smile, "I was going to go to the loo to wash my hands, meet you at a table after?"

Jeremy nodded and let her go, before he went over to Matt and Rebekah. Ellie went into the bathroom and washed her hands, ignoring the fact Caroline and Elena were there and hadn't noticed her.

Ellie left, drying her hands on her jeans. She suddenly felt nervous, but it wasn't a bad feeling. It felt like she was high, like she knew it was okay to feel a bit strange and it didn't feel bad.

"Hey," Ellie said as she sat in the bench opposite Jeremy, she saw Rebekah and Matt exchange a look.

"How come your here, then?" Jeremy asked, deciding to cut to the chase.

"Well... Mutt and Bekah were coming here so I thought I might as well,"

"Yes, she's like this in real life," Matt explained to Jeremy, who nodded.

"Good to know," Jeremy said, "I like her this way,"

"Me likes me this way too," Ellie joked, to which she chuckled, "Also I might have ignored Elena and Caroline in the loo... whoops!"

"I'm sure Elena didn't notice you, she's always too busy noticing only herself," Rebekah said bitterly, to which both Matt and Jeremy shrugged.

After an awkward silence, the conversation continued and after a few hours Matt and Rebekah left to go to her house, at which time Jeremy and Ellie both decided to leave. The pair ended up going into the forest and watching the sunset.

It was now dark, and Ellie was busy watching the stars, "They're so beautiful, aren't they?"

"Yeah," Jeremy replied, he wasn't watching the stars, he was watching her, "Most beautiful thing I've ever seen,"

Ellie turned to face him, "You aren't even watching the stars, Jer,"

"No, because I'm looking at the most beautiful thing right now," Jeremy moved a lock of hair out of Ellie's face, making her tilt her head slightly.

"You think I'm beautiful?" Ellie said, grabbing his hand and watching him nod.

"Always have," Jeremy leaned in to kiss Ellie, to which she pecked his lips back softly, as though it were the most dainty thing ever.

The pair pulled away, before both going back in for a passionate kiss.
