The feeling of guilt spread throughout Ned's entire being and all he felt was great remorse. What he had done he could not un-do.

Truthfully speaking, Ned had been in denial. Ned had a good reason, he shouldn't be guilty right? But after Flash's interrogation, he wasn't so sure.

Flash dropped Ned in shock.

"You led him to his death?" Flash faltered.

"I didn't want to! He threatened my parents!" Tears streamed down Ned's face as he kneeled onto the ground. "And now my best friend is most likely dead because of me!"

———

"I found myself wishing you had died. It is honorable to mourn a ghost. But you were only a few rooms away, starting a new life with your new father, while I was merely existing. For all these years, I have been painfully alive, still grieving over you. Along the way, I died. I am the one who became the ghost. I am only a shadow of the hero and father I once was."

Don't believe in love. Because the only thing left is heartbreak. "'The world is too cruel to those who take love too seriously.' After I lost you, I recognized this cold, brutal fact."

Thor found himself waiting by Peter's bedside laying out a confession that wasn't meant for anyone's ears.

"Somehow I am in second place. I was gone for all of these years, while you grew up without me. I was going to teach you everything. I was going to share my greatest stories of Asgard. The culture and the people have all been stolen from you."

"I'm not sure who I should hate." Thor choked on his own saliva.

Tears refused to trickle out of his tear ducts, which was the only way he could even fathom to visualize his own grief.

"Is it me? For letting you be stolen from me? Or is it the father figures you have grown to love?"

"Is it even fair for me to weasel my way into your life?"

Thor sighed and hung his head low, unable to hide the shame and guilt that was slowly creeping over his looming thoughts.

A creak sounded, and Thor looked up to see Bruce at the door. Thor motioned for him to sit as Bruce closed the door behind him.

"I'm just going to get straight to the point... He's your son isn't he?"

Thor looked up in shock. "What... No..." His voice cracked.

"That was a rhetorical question. I know he's your biological son. You are not very good at hiding it." Bruce said with a slight smile, his attempt at lightening the mood a little bit.

"I wanted Peter to be the first to know."

Bruce took off his glasses and walked over to Thor, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"What are you planning to do when Peter wakes up?" He asked.

"He deserves to know who he really is." Thor clasped his hands together and dragged it across his face. His jittery actions did not reflect what he was going to utter next.

"I'm going to tell him everything."
