ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  Vought failed to create someone like her. When Sersei was born, the thought of naturally born supes, or mutants, was unheard of. A myth, a theory and a fun story to tell kids at night. But never had they ever anticipated it being real. Which poses as a problem to their growing image.

โœน.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ETHELINDA POPESCU, a retired hero by the name of 'WITCH HAZEL', was a member of Payback. Vought's very first group of superheroes going as far as 1940s. She, like Sersei, was a naturally born supe with "too much power" as they would describe her. She was loved by all and had many admirers. But she retired in the late 50s for unknown reasons and had not been seen again. At least not until her old friend found her back in Frascati, the retired hero's childhood home, with a baby in her hands.
ย  ย  ย  ย  When Ethelinda asked her friends who the baby was, she confessed that it was hers and she is a natural born supe. Sersei was born from a Korean mother and father, both of whom worked for Vought as chemists. And when they found out that their daughter had powers beyond comprehension, they knew she was in danger of being used and experimented on by Vought. So they took her to the one person they knew will always protect and help her.
ย  ย  ย  ย ย  Although reluctant, Ethelinda took in the baby girl, quickly falling in love with the idea of being a mother and raised her as her own. Promising her friend that she will do right by her. Which she has been for the past 24 years of Sersei's life. Raising her as her daughter, loving her, protecting her and helping her with her powers like she wished someone had with her.

โœน.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  SERSEI grew up relatively normal. She had a loving mother, a good childhood and a somewhat normal life. She knew she, herself, was not normal, though. And the day her powers manifested only confirmed her suspicions. She had a dog who was ran over by a car when she was 12 and she cried so much about it. So much so that her magic unlocked and brought the small dog back to life. Which confused her greatly. Ethelinda quickly calmed her panic and began explaining to her what was happening to her. She explained that her powers were manifesting and her emotions unlocked them. She promised that she will help her with them and will never abandon her.

ย  ย  ย ย  So the next few years, Sersei spent tirelessly working on her powers, gaining control and understanding over them with Ethelinda's help. And while she did gain control over them, she chose to keep a low profile when going about her life. That is....until Vought ended up finding her again. Wanting to recruit her as a new member of The Seven. To which she said 'no'. Not wanting to be apart of a team who, on the surface level, seemed for the people, but were really just corrupted individuals who played god because of what they were injected with. But that has not stopped them for trying.

ย  ย  ย  ย  Due to that, Sersei decided that it was time to put an end to their tyranny, once and for all. And when Billy Butcher recruits her in his plan to take down all supes, she is given the opportunity of a lifetime.ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย  ย ย
