EPISODE TWO
trick or treat, freak!

NOVA GRINNED at herself and max in the mirror at their halloween outfits. she was surprised max hadn't backed out yet. max dressed as michael myers whilst nova was laurie strode so they matched.

"i can't believe we are doing this." max huffed as she picked up the mask. nova laughed at her sister, "i cant believe you agreed. hey, it's six forty..we should get going if we are going to meet dustin and lucas."

"whatever." max huffed as nova grinned and pulled on her converse. she was in the light blue, almost white, shirt and dark blue jeans like laurie's.

nova pulled on max's hand as they speed walked to where dustin had told them to. they got there a bit late, but heard the group complaining about three musketeers, and max decided it was the perfect opportunity to scare them.

max grabbed nova and pushed her with her as they jumped out on the boys, max raising her knife at them and screaming, before pretending to stab nova as the three boys screamed, however lucas' scream was the loudest and most girly.

the girls laughed as max pulled off her mask, "holy fuck! you should've seen the look on your faces!" nova laughed loudly as max joined in, "and you? who screams like that? you sound like a little girl." max turned to lucas who was, like dustin, in shock that the two girls had actually turned up.

will was smiling shyly whilst mike was glaring at the two new girls.

the two girls walked away, but then turned back to the group with raised brows. "hey, you guys coming or not? oh, also we should head up lock nora." nova spoke.

max nodded, agreeing. "yeah, that's where the rich people live, right?" she chuckled.

dustin and lucas grinned excitedly as they fist bumped and then immediately ran over to the two girls, and nova smiled at lucas who stood next to her. "h-hi nova!" he grinned.

"hey, lucas." she chuckled at his awkwardness.

will and mike followed slowly behind, and nova turned back to them to make sure they were okay. "oh, shit, my bad! we didn't properly introduce ourselves.. i'm nova, this is my sister max.."

"hi, nice to meet y—" will smiled as he shook her hand, but mike cut him off, "yeah, we know."

lucas and dustin sent the girls apoplectic looks as nova chuckled awkwardly, "um..okay. anyway.." she smiled at will and then turned back around to walk next to lucas, max and dustin again.

"sorry about him. he doesn't really like new people." lucas spoke up, she shrugged with a small smile, her dimples showing as lucas felt like passing out at the sight. "nah, i get it. it's cool."

they had been out for about an hour now, and had went to a few houses, their candy buckets filling up quickly as they reached loch nora, lucas staring at nova the whole time was starting to freak her out, but she didn't comment on it, not wanting to embarrass him.

"another full-size! seriously, rich people are such suckers!" dustin exclaimed as they walked away from a house, but then his face dropped in worry. "wait...you guys aren't rich, right?" worried he had insulted his two new friends.

"god, no. we live up old cherry road." max scoffed as nova chuckled, dustin raised his brows. "oh."

"no, it's fine. i mean, street's good for skating and nova stealing billy's car to practice all the time." max chuckled as nova let out a breathy chuckle.

"wait, you steal your brothers car? you're awesome!" dustin grinned excitedly as mike rolled his eyes. "oh..yeah, sometimes when he's got a girl round. i'll drive me and max to the arcade or some shit...it's totally illegal but..who cares? it's fun."

lucas and dustin shared a look of amazement as lucas sighed dreamily, "you're so cool." he smiled as she looked at him. "thanks?" she chuckled.

his face dropped and eyes widened in horror as he realised he had just said that out loud. but nova didn't mind. "you're cool, too, lucas." she smiled and he nervously smiled.

"well, i think driving your brothers car and you skating is totally tubular." dustin spoke, mouth full of food. nova and max looked at him funny.

"what? did i say that right? or is it, like, tubular." he spoke in an accent.

"it's, like, totally tubular." lucas mocked a surfer as max and nova pulled a face and dustin laughed, "oh! totally tubular!"

"what a gnarly wave, dude!" lucas continued as dustin grinned happily, "totally brodacious, bro!"

"oh, my god. stop. my ears are hurting." nova laughed, and max joined in as the boys continued to imitate a surfer. she smiled fondly remembering all of the times her and billy would go surfing in california when they were younger.

"hey, where's will?" mike suddenly called out from behind them. they stopped and looked around as dustin and lucas had wide eyes, whilst max and nova had no idea of the events that happened last year.

"will?!" dustin yelled, "will?" lucas called out and nova pointed, "there!" she told them as they saw will run down a few steps in a panic.

they all followed him, calling his name as mike shook his shoulders with wide eyes, "will!" will's eyes snapped open as he breathed heavily.

"holy shit!" dustin exclaimed as max and nova shared a confused look. "will, whats wrong?!" mike exclaimed.

"i-i couldn't find you! are you hurt?" he had his hands on will's shoulders with wide eyes. will looked around, as if he had no clue where he was. nova took notice of the panic in mikes eyes and realised it was serious.

"is he alright?" nova spoke up with a frown, "i don't know!" mike replied as he turned back to will.

"i'm gonna get you home, okay? i'm gonna get you home...hold on." he stood up, pulling will with him as the other four watched.

"all right, take it easy." dustin held onto will's shoulder.

"i got him!" mike snapped as dustin frowned, "mike?" he responded in confusion.

"just keep trick-or-treating. i'm bored anyways." he huffed as they walked away.

nova and max shared a confused look as max spoke up, "what's wrong with him?" they looked at lucas and dustin, who shared a look before lucas shook his head. "nothing..he'll be fine."

nova seemed to get the hint that they weren't allowed to know whatever was going on, so she tapped max's arm. "we should head home soon anyway, max."

max understood and nodded slightly. "bye, boys." nova waved slightly. dustin and lucas said goodbye, a sad tone in their voice as the two girls made
their way back home.
