Well you never know, miracles do happen, plus its also Christmas time," replied my ever do happy best friend.

"Yeah, I guess you are right," I agreed.

"When am I not?" she asked sassily. We looked at each other for a minute and then burst out laughing.

And that's how we spent the rest of the night, laughing, smiling, making fun of each other. I was finally happy.

But happiness never lasts long.

4 weeks later

I am getting discharged from the hospital today. I am damn nervous. My treatment went well, thankfully they didn't ask questions about how I got these scars and bruises on my back.

My Father along with my step mother and step sister- Angelina and Hailey, respectively- were going to pick me up today from the hospital. Hailey never really did anything to me, we both ignored each other and that way, we both stayed out of each other's way. So technically, she did not really now about the abuse, because if she did, she would've told the child services. You might be asking why do I trust her? Well I trust her because she has saved from bullies numerous times, and she even lets me copy her homework some times, so yeah our relationship is great so far.

I was really scared, I know they are going to beat me up again. I still don't understand what kind of parent hits their child anyway.

Knock, Knock

"Come in," I softly said.

Hailey came waltzing in my poor excuse of a room. She was as usual wearing a Gucci dress complete with a Chanel handbag and Louis Viton high heel shoes.

"Dad wants to meet you in his office. He says it's urgent," told Hailey.

"Okay I'm coming," I simply replied.

I nervously walked down the hall to my father's study. I anxiously knocked on the door of the study.

Knock, Knock

I heard a muffled come in.

"You called for me Father?"

"Ah. Yes I did. Why don't you take a seat?" he said.

I carefully sat down in the leather covered chair. I didn't understand why was he being so nice to me.

"You see, after that stunt you pulled, cutting yourself and such, it landed you a few weeks in the hospital, precisely speaking, 4 weeks. And the money for the treatment costed a lot. That's why I want you to do something for me and in return I vow to love with my entire being," he said as he laid down on his chair. I would do anything for him to love me again.

"What is it father?" I asked, my excitement almost bursting over the surface of my body.

"I want you to marry the future CEO of the Wayne Enterprises," he said throwing me completely off the edge of my hope.

"Wh-what?"

"You heard me, if you want my love and affection, you will have to marry Damain Wayne," my father said with a sinister look on his face.

"But why, Father? Is something wrong? I can help you," I asked worriedly.

"No, my dear nothing is wrong and no I don't want your help I only want you to marry Damain," he answered as if he was losing his patience.

"Okay Father," I said and walked out of the study and into my room.

"Good girl," I heard him mutter as I waked out of there.

"Hello! Hello! You okay there Mari," asked my step sister.

"Yeah, just thinking about some stuff," I replied.

"Okay, a penny for your thoughts," she asked with a smile on her face.

"Of course, you are my friend now. I was just thinking that how my life took a drastic turn in just a week."

"What do you mean?"

"What I mean is that I went from being the most hated and neglected child of the family to a princess," I said with a sad smile on my face.

"Hey it's okay," consoled Hailey.

"I know. But where is Chloe? We were supposed to meet here like 15 minutes ago," I said changing the topic.

Me and Hailey have been good friends since Dad told her that I was supposed to marry the CEO.

She found me in my room crying, that night. She went ahead and consoled me, and helped me sleep.

From the entrance we can see Chloe come in to the Café.

"Speak of the devil," I mumbled.

We both ran up to her and gave her a big hug.

"Where were you," I asked her.

"Well I was stuck in traffic, you know how it is," she said with a nervous chuckle.

I raised an eyebrow at her and she mouthed 'Tell you later.'

'You better,' I mouthed back.

"So I have found an amazing wedding dress shop for you and it is not far from home, and I am already so tired," Hailey said after faking a yawn.
