𝕋ℍ𝔼 Addams family arrived at the gates of Nevermore Academy and drove onto the grounds. Morticia looked out the window, a serene smile spreading across her face as she sighed with bliss. "At least it's turning into a beautiful day," she remarked.

Just then, the sky darkened, and the sound of thunder roared ominously. Wednesday sighed, seemingly unfazed by the sudden change in weather. They pulled up to the school building, a grand structure resembling an old Victorian mansion.

Wednesday looked out the window at the imposing building, his eyes drawn to a crow perched on a statue. The bird locked eyes with him, its gaze intense and unwavering. Then, with a sudden burst of movement, the crow spread its wings and flew off into the stormy sky, leaving Wednesday to ponder the strange omen.

"Wednesday is certainly a unique name," Principal Weems remarked as she sat across from Wednesday and his parents in her warm office. She was a tall woman with snow-white hair and wore a pristine white outfit. Wednesday stared back at her blankly, the crackling of the fireplace filling the room with a soft, comforting sound.

"I'm guessing it was the day you were born?" Principal Weems asked, trying to engage him.

"I was born on Friday the 13th," Wednesday replied.

Morticia smiled proudly at her son before turning to Principal Weems. "His name comes from a line from my favorite nursery rhyme: 'Wednesday's child is full of woe.'"

Wednesday continued to look at Principal Weems blankly before his gaze drifted to the fire. Principal Weems's voice brought him back to the conversation as she addressed Morticia, "You always had a unique perspective on the world, Morticia."

Morticia returned the smile warmly. Principal Weems then focused on Wednesday. "Did your mother tell you we were roommates back in the day?"

Wednesday quipped, "And you graduated with your sanity intact? Impressive."

Morticia frowned at him, but Wednesday ignored her. Principal Weems continued, glancing through Wednesday's file, "You've certainly had a very interesting educational journey. Eight schools in five years."

Gomez nodded proudly at his son, who retorted, "They haven't built one strong enough to hold me. I bet this place won't be so different."

Gomez quickly interjected, speaking to Principal Weems, "I believe what our son is trying to say is that he greatly appreciates the opportunity."

Wednesday shot a cold look at his father, but Principal Weems carried on, "Well, at least you weren't the one to burn down your school building and send a classmate to a psychiatric ward like a certain student. Also, Nevermore doesn't usually accept students mid-term, but given Wednesday's perfect grades and your family's long history with the school, I've spoken with the board and we've made an exception."

Morticia and Gomez beamed with happiness and pride, while Wednesday looked down, thinking, "Shit..."

"Larissa, what about Wednesday's, um... therapy sessions?" Morticia asked, glancing at Wednesday before turning her attention back to Principal Weems. "The court ordered them."

Principal Weems smiled reassuringly. "Hmm. The school has a relationship with a therapist in Jericho. She can meet with Wednesday twice a week."

Gomez smiled, looking at his son. "Did you hear that, my storm cloud? You're in excellent hands."

Wednesday raised an eyebrow, fixing Principal Weems with a blank expression. "We'll see if she survives the first session."

An awkward silence settled over the room. Morticia and Gomez exchanged uneasy glances before looking back at the Principal, who maintained her calm demeanour. She smiled at Wednesday and said, "I've assigned you to your mother's old dorm, Ophelia Hall." Morticia gasped and chuckled with excitement, turning to her son. "Refresh my memory. Ophelia's the one who kills herself after being driven mad by her family, correct?" Wednesday asked. Gomez looked around, confused as he tried to remember. Morticia smiled and nodded at her son. Wednesday then turned back to face Principal Weems, who suggested, "Should we go meet your new neighbours?"

Principal Weems opened a door that led to a dorm room, revealing a stark contrast between its two halves. On the left side, it felt as if a rainbow had exploded, with plushies scattered about and heavy decorations in every conceivable colour. The window in the middle of the wall was shaped like a web, with one half vibrantly adorned.

However, it was the right side of the room that captured Wednesday's attention. This side was a cozy, enchanting space filled with mystical charm. Dark, rich colours dominated, with deep purples, blacks, and forest greens adorning the walls and furnishings. A large, antique wooden bed was draped in velvety fabrics and adorned with an assortment of plush, embroidered pillows. Shelves filled with ancient, leather-bound grimoires and jars of herbs, crystals, and spell ingredients lined the walls. In one corner, a small altar held candles, crystals, and ritual tools.

The air was fragrant with the scent of incense and dried herbs hanging from the ceiling beams. A soft glow emanated from various lanterns and candles placed strategically around the space, casting flickering shadows that danced across the floor. The atmosphere exuded mystery, serenity, and magical potential, creating an intriguing and inviting sanctuary.

Wednesday looked at the side of the room, curious and intrigued, before noticing a black cat sleeping on the bed. Morticia gasped at the colourful left side of the room, and Gomez remarked, "It's so... vivid."

Then, a girl with short blonde hair dyed pink and blue at the tips walked up to the Addams family. She looked at Wednesday and inhaled excitedly before speaking with a huge amount of energy, "Howdy, neighbour!" Wednesday stared at the girl blankly as Principal Weems introduced her. "Wednesday, this is Enid Sinclair, one of your new neighbours next door. I thought Enid and her roommate could help you settle in."

Enid looked at Wednesday with concern. "Are you feeling okay? You look a little pale."

Before Wednesday could respond, Gomez explained, "Wednesday always looks half-dead."

Enid smiled and said, "Oh." She then opened her arms wide for a hug. "Welcome to Ophelia Hall."

As Enid moved in for the hug, Wednesday stepped back, looking at her as if she were crazy, not wanting to be touched. "Not a hugger. Got it." Enid smiled awkwardly and dropped her arms.

Morticia spoke next, trying to smooth over the moment. "Please excuse Wednesday. He's allergic to colour."

Enid looked at Wednesday curiously. "Oh, wow. What happens to you?"

Wednesday responded flatly, "I break out into hives and then the flesh peels off my bones."

Enid looked startled before a voice caught everyone's attention. "Well, we wouldn't want that now, would we?"

They all turned to see a girl wearing a cloak, a sleek, black maxi dress with flowing, asymmetrical layers that move elegantly with every step and with stockings that go with the dress. She carried a basket filled with books, berries, and little bones. Principal Weems smiled and introduced her. "Ah, there she is. Addams family, Wednesday, this is Lilith Winters, the witch of Nevermore."

Lilith smiled and walked into the dorm, taking off her cloak and placing her basket down. She made her way to Wednesday, who seemed enchanted by her, realizing she was the person from the forest he had seen earlier. Lilith extended her hand for a handshake and said, "Hello, Wednesday. Welcome to Nevermore."

She smiled warmly, and Wednesday looked at her for a moment, then at her extended hand. He placed his hand in hers for a handshake. As he did so, he felt a warmth from her hand traveling to his own, sending shivers down his spine. He quickly withdrew his hand away from hers.

Lilith smiled and lowered her hand. Wednesday looked at her, studying her long midnight hair and silver eyes that seemed to hold secrets within, little freckles that danced across the bridge of her nose. He thought she looked enchanting and interesting, but he didn't let any of his thoughts show on the surface.

"Luckily, we've special ordered you a uniform," Principal Weems said to Wednesday before turning to the two girls. "Lilith, Enid, please take Wednesday to the registrar's office to pick it up along with a copy of his schedule, and give him a tour along the way."

Lilith looked at Enid and spoke, "I actually need to change into my uniform. I'll meet you for the grand tour."

Enid nodded, smiling brightly. Wednesday shot his parents a glare before making his way out of the room. As he did, he caught sight of Lilith once more. She smiled warmly and waved at him before he walked out, Enid skipping happily behind him.

Lilith chuckled and closed the door as everyone left. She changed into her uniform, packed away her belongings in the basket, and set out a mat. Lighting candles around her, she placed her tarot cards in a circle with the 13th one in the middle. Her silver eyes began to cloud over, and lines under her eyes started to form as the her dark circles under her eyes began to darken as she read the cards. "This one seems... interesting," she murmured.
