Extended Summary:

Moving from one town to the next due to her mom's job, Baek Sowon has learned to keep a safe distance from anyone and everyone. It doesn't matter how lonely she feels, she knows from experience that the pain of leaving a friend behind is much worse, that's why she makes sure to keep her head down and be as invisible as possible.

As Sowon settles into her new house in Daegu, the loneliness she feels worsens when she hears her parents arguing almost every night. She never had friends, but she had family, and now, even that was being threatened.

One night, as Sowon walks down her street in hopes to clear her head, she stumbles across a woman unloading groceries from her car. Though the woman is strange, Sowon offers to assist her. The woman, grateful for the kindness Sowon showed to her instructs her to look up at the sky, to which she sees a falling star. She then tells her to pray for the star to land safely and then to make a wish. Sowon doesn't expect to gain any results from the action, but to appease the woman and humor her, she does as she's told, making a wish to have someone to cure her loneliness.

A few days after that fateful night, the house for sale that sits next to hers is sold, and in moves a boy that was sent to grant her wish and change her life forever.
