This story is inspired by prompt 27 of ONC 2021: You crack a math problem that has stumped experts for decades. The only problem is you're only an undergrad and you stumbled across the problem while snooping in your professor's office while waiting for your appointment to start.

I'm not writing this story for ONC, but more for its fun, because I couldn't stop thinking about this idea, and the more I thought about it, the more I got invested in the character. Plus, I highly doubt I'll be able to wrap it up as a novella. But I'm going to stick to ONC timelines, which simply means, I'm going to try to wrap up this book up by the end of ONC's deadline. [let's see how that goes XD] (Update: I couldn't keep up, lol)

The story is mature. I'm going to take my time, but when it feels right, there will be loads of steamy scenes *wink wink*) [Update #2: The steamy scenes (aka the sex scenes xD) will start from chapter 33 (sort of) =D but if you skip the first 32 chaps, then don't look at me if you get confused, because that's about 50k words of the story... and somehow this story is turning out to be way longer than I had initially planned, oops xD]

⚠️There will be mentions of death, suicide, and depression so be aware! [I will put a warning atop the chapter regarding the suicide part but nothing else.] ⚠️

One more note: I won't use a name for the college my MC is attending, because frankly, it feels illegal referring to an actual university while my fictional characters are not going to stick to the binary roles of student-professor. So let your imagination run wild =)

About their relationship... I'm a college student, and trust me, I won't be promoting something that's illegal or strictly against the protocols and the law [I've heard enough rumours to last a lifetime regarding this entire matter, and most of the time, they're not good]. So don't expect the story to be full-on smut (Or for the prof to be demanding & controlling and whatnot, because that just disgusts me, so it's not my cup of tea, sorry). Of course, there will be some steamy scenes but not from the first chapter, you just have to follow the course and be a little patient =) Update: I updated it every day, the majority of the chapters are short, so it takes about 5-10 minutes to read each.

On a side note, this story is taking place in the US but I've spent the majority of my life in countries that use British English (No, I've never been to America [yes, the entire continent, lol]xD), hence I'm not good at American English. If you come across a word that you know it's not used in American English, don't hesitate to point it out (I'd be super grateful, because I'm starting to realise I have no idea how Americans talk lmao).

Last note (promise xD): I'm not a math major. I'll try to be as accurate as possible, but if you are a math major and think I've got something wrong, I'd be beyond grateful if you point it out to me. [I'll try not to get into the math details since this is not a science book, but the few mentions here and there will refer to it and if it was wrong, do tell =) ]

1) This story needs an awful lot of editing, but I'm not planning on editing it any time soon, be aware of that. If you spot typos and errors, feel free to point them out so I can fix them instantly, otherwise, the entire editing/fixing will be left to whenever I feel like editing or I run out of ideas to write about [pretty much unlikely, but anyway, lol] 

2) This story has a sequel =) It's called The Remedy, but don't read them together, because that is full of spoilers for this. [Like, don't even read the blurb, okay?]
