Athena and Dean hadn't seen Sam in over a week.

So, when Dean got a call from him, they both came running to the motel Sam said he was at.

Athena rams her body against the door and falls to the floor. "Crap nuggets!"

"That's a new one." Dean picks the girl up and she stands on her feet. He opens the door and she huffs. "It wasn't locked, well now I'm embarrassed."

The two siblings rush into the room and see Sam sitting on the bed, not paying any mind to them.

"Sammy?" Athena softly speaks, and she closes the door behind her.

"Hey, Thena."

"Are you bleeding?" Dean crouches beside Sam. Athena's heart jumps into her throat and she quickly walks over to her brothers.

"What?" Athena looks at Sam's red-stained hand.

"I tried to wash it off," Sam speaks, his mind still processing the blood.

"Oh, my god..." Dean looks at the blood on Sam's shirt. Athena's good eye widens and she slightly opens her mouth. "Holy shit!"

"I don't think it's my blood," Sam says.

Athen pulls her brows together.

"Whose is it?"

"I don't know."

"Come again?" Athena cranes her neck forward. "What the hell happened?"

Sam looks at Athena and then at Dean. "Guys...I don't remember anything."

Dean and Athena look at each other before they look back at Sam. The eldest Winchester stands up. "So, you're telling me—"

"I'm telling you, I don't remember anything," Sam repeats, his eyes still on his hands. Athena purses her lips. "So...what if we hit you over the head like...really hard?"

"Athena!"

"I mean, not insanely hard. Just enough to jog his memory—"

"We're not doing that." Sam sighs and covers his face.

Athena holds her hands up, "Just a suggestion. I don't see anyone else throwing ideas around."

"How about, I go to the front and ask how long Sam has been here?" Dean holds up a hand. Athena blows air out of her mouth, forcing her curly hair out of her eye. "I mean, that's kind of boring, but it's a good idea."

Dean lightly nudges Athena, "Hey, can I talk to you for a second?"

Athena nods her head and follows Dean to the other side of the room. Dean crouches in front of the girl. "Okay, so, you're gonna have to keep an eye on Sammy."

Athena tilts her head, "Yeah, that's no problem."

Dean raises his brows, "If he starts freaking out, just—"

"I'll put the Athena charm on him." She shrugs. "A little pat on the back and sympathizing. I'll just be his supportive little sister."

Dean gives her a small smile. "You're the best."

"I know." Athena snorts. Dean gives Athena a kiss on the head before walking out of the motel room. Athena looks at Sam.

"He told you to babysit me?"

Athena presses her lips together, "Uh...no?"

Sam looks at Athena with his brows raised and she bunches her shoulders. "Yeah, he did." Athena clicks her tongue. "What can you do? Dean's protective like that."

Sam lets out a breath, "Right, I guess so."

Athena purses her lips. "Do you...really not remember anything?"

"You and Dean have asked me the same question and I already said I don't remember anything." Sam's voice was firm and exhausted.

Athena bites the inside of her cheek and looks at her red converse. Sam's breathing hitches and he looks at his little sister. "I'm sorry, I...I didn't mean to snap like that."

Athena looks at Sam with a soft expression. "It's fine, Sammy. I know you're going through a lot right now." She walks over to Sam and sits on the bed beside him. "I'm sorry you can't remember anything."

Sam inhales a shaky breath. "What if I...what if I really hurt someone—or worse?"

"But, you wouldn't do that. Not without a good reason, right?" Athena pulls her brows together.

"You heard what dad told Dean—"

"Dad always said insane things, okay?" Athena's tone was soft but there was a firmness behind it. She wanted Sam to know that she was 100% on his side. But she also wanted him to know that she wasn't going to allow him to die. She'd do everything in her power to make sure that didn't happen.

"This is no different."

"But it is." Sam insists.

"Why?"

"Because he told Dean to kill me, Athena." Sam looks at Athena with tears in his eyes. "If I...somehow become evil or whatever, Dad told Dean to kill me."

Athena swallows the lump in her throat. She then wraps her arms around her brother's neck, embracing him. "Well, Dean won't do it."

"And I wouldn't let him."

"You—out of here. Now. Or I'm calling the cops."

Athena grabs Sam's arm, "All right, let's scram." She turns on her heel and starts to walk towards the door. Dean grabs Athena's shoulder and turns her around. He looks at Sam then back at the cashier. "You're talking about him?"

"Yeah, I'm talking to him!—Jerk comes in yesterday, stinking drunk, grabs a 40 from the fridge, starts chugging it."

Dean raises his brows. "This guy? You're drinking malt liquor?"

"Not after he whipped the bottle at my friggin' head."

Athena snorts, "Sounds like my dad."

"Athena."

She holds her hands up, "Sorry."

"Look, I'm really sorry if I did anythi—"

"You know what? Tell your story walking, pal, okay?"  The cashier snaps. "Popo will be here in five."

"Scram!" Athena goes to run away again, but Dean keeps his arm on his backpack. "Wait, wait—he's leaving. Put the phone down." He looks at Sam. "Go wait in the car."

"But, Dean—"

"Go wait in the car!"

Sam exhales a defeated breath and walks out of the gas station. Dean looks back at the cashier, "Hey, look, I just want to talk to you, that's it, okay?"

The cashier keeps his weary eyes on Dean, then he looks at Athena. The 12 year old smiles and bunches her shoulders. He relaxes his shoulders and sets the phone down.

"When he took off yesterday, which way did he go?" Dean asks.

"Why don't you ask him?—"

"Cause I'm asking you." Dean's voice was sharp.

Athena clears her throat. "Listen, last night he took some things without paying, right?"

The cashier folds his arms and sighs. "Yeah, he didn't pay for the booze or the cigarettes, which he illegally lit up."

Athena's mouth hangs open, "Ew, Sam's a smoker?"

"No, you know he's not." Dean states.

"I dunno, dude was a chimney last night."

Athena shakes her head, focusing. "Here." She holds the brown leather wallet up. Dean looks at the wallet in her hand and pulls his brows together. "Hey, isn't that...?" He feels his pockets and realizes his wallet wasn't there. "You snagged my wallet?"

Athena nods and presses her lips together. "Uh-huh." She then hands the cashier a few bucks. The cashier grabs the money. "Oh, yeah, it's coming back to me now—he took two packs."

Athena shrugs, "Okay—"

"No, no, no." Dean grab the wallet from Athena and points at the cashier. "Now, you're just manipulating a 12 year old—asshat."

Athena snaps her good eye over to the man. "You were manipulating me? You're an asshat."

"So, I've been told."

"Tell me where he was going. Now." Dean seethes. "Or so help me God, I will be throwing more than an empty 40 bottle at your head."

"Yeah! He'll throw me!" Athena points a thumb at herself.

"No, I won't." Dean says. He stops and frowns. "Okay, I might."

Athena smiles.

"Okay, okay—psychos. He went left on Route 71, straight out of town."

...

"What's going on with you, Sam, hmm?" Dean looks at Sam. "The smoking, throwing bottles at people—that sounds more like me than you."

Athena shifts her attention to Sam, who was looking out the window; in his own mind. The girl couldn't help but feel a pit form in her stomach about this whole situation. She and Dean both know the information they have learned today wasn't Sam's normal behavior. So, what the fuck was going on with him?

"Dean, wait. Wait. Here." Sam points. "Turn down that road."

"What?"

"I don't know how I know. I just do." Sam states.

Dean turns down the road Sam pointed at. They end up in front of a white house. The Winchesters all get out of the car, as soon as they get out of the car, lights flash in their faces.

"Motion sensor lights." Athena frowns. "Nice."

"Whoever lives here, I'd say they don't like surprises." Sam voices.

Dean walks toward the house with the younger siblings following him.

"Should we knock?"

"Yeah, I guess." Sam hesitates. He walks away to look around the house. Dean knocks in the door.

"Hey, guys."

Athena and Dean turn to Sam. They walk over to him and look at the spot he was shining his light at. Athena raises her brows from the broken window.

"I'm surprised the cops didn't show—place like this you'd think would have an alarm."

Athena takes a step forward to look at the window, but her shoe hits the tip of something. She looks down at the wire and tilts her head. Athena pulls her flashlight out and clicks it on, she follows the light and gets to the side of the house. Her eyes land on the box that was forced open. "Looks like someone had the same thought as you, Dean."

Sam looks at the side of the house and sees what Athena was talking about. "You mean me?"

"We don't know if it was you." Athena turns to him. Sam deadpans and Athena bunches her shoulders. "We don't."

Dean picks the lock and opens the door. Sam and Dean follow him in. Glass was shattered across the hardwood floor. Athena couldn't help but feel a dark energy in the house, and it made her skin crawl. Sam and Dean look around the house. Athena flashes her light down the hall and continues to walk down it. For some reason, Athena's hand begins to shake when she approaches a room.

Athena takes a step into the room and shines her light around it. Her light points to the floor and her entire body runs cold. A gasp leaves her lips and she steps back, Athena trips over her foot and falls back.

"Oh my...oh my god...oh my god..." A small whimper escapes her lips, but she doesn't take her eyes off the lifeless body. "H-Holy shit—holy shit!"

"Athena?!"

The brothers quickly run through the house. The only thing they could follow was her quick breathing. Dean was the first to get there. He went to go help her up, but she flinched. Dean stopped his hands from touching her. He saw the body she was looking at and everything made sense. "Shit, okay, uh...Athena. Do you want to wait in the car?"

"Dean? What's going on? Is Athena..." Sam quickly falls silent, seeing the body in the ground. "Oh god—did I do this?"

Dean keeps his eyes on Athena. "Athena, just say the word and we can go."

Athena inhales a shaky breath. Her entire brain felt like mush. All she could see was the blood soaking into the rug. Athena knew that death was something she would interact with. I mean, she was around it all the time. But this was...horrifying.

"Dean, I did this—"

"Sam." Dean's voice was firm. He looks at Sam, his eyes saying "not right now".

"I'm fine." Athena speaks. "I-I mean. I'll be fine."

Dean looks back at Athena, his eyes still hesitant. "Athena, are you sure?"

Athena looks at Dean and nods her head. "Yeah, I'm sure." She looks at Sam. "You had to...have had a reason for this, right? If you did this. There has to be a reasonable explanation."

Once Athena was comfortable, she grabs Dean's hand and he pulls her into her feet.

"Could've been self defense." Athena suggests.

"Or he was a bad son of a bitch." Dean adds.

Sam looks around, "I need your lock pick..." he walks over to the closet door.

"What?"

"I need your lock pick."

Dean hands the pick over to Sam. The middle Winchester picks the lock of the closet and slides it open, revealing an arsenal of weapons. Athena's jaw clenches. "Holy fuck, he was a hunter."

Athena knew that she felt this case was different. Not only was it involving one of her brothers, but he do wasn't remember anything he's done in the last week.

And that includes murdering a hunter. She didn't want to look at Sam differently. But that wasn't him. Right? Her father wasn't right. But the video showed Sam slitting that man's throat without hesitation.

After the video, Dean wasted no time, getting rid of their prints. "How do you erase this?" Dean asks. He looks at Sam, who was reading a letter.

"I killed him, guys."

Athena raises her brows, "Yeah, we saw."

"Athena."

She looks at Dean then Sam. "Sorry—I'm sorry." Athena looks down at the ground. "I'll erase the footage." She walks around the desk. She stands next to Sam, but it felt different. Athena seemed tense. She didn't mean to make Sam feel bad. And she didn't even mean to act this way. Stop acting like this.

"Sorry." Athena speaks. She looks at her quiet brother then back at the computer.

Sam shakes his head, "Don't worry, I don't blame you for reacting like this."

"Whoever this guy is, he's a hunter, which means other hunters are gonna come look for his killer, which mean we got to cover our tracks, okay?"

Sam holds up the letter. "His name was Steve Wandell. This is a letter from his daughter."

Dean looks at Sam for a moment, then at Athena. Both siblings were quiet. "Athena, how long until the footage is erased?"

Athena sighs and scratches above her brow. "Too long." She looks at Dean. "We're gonna have to find another soluti—"

Dean grabs box for the computer and slams it to the ground. Athena flinches from the loud noise and her neck twinges. Dean stomps his boot into the box and looks back at Sam.

"Both of you, wipe your prints, and then we go." He tosses the hankie to them.

Athena looks at Sam, the same amount of shock onher face was on his as well. Dean would do anything for Sam, wouldn't he?

Athena pushes the thought to the far part of her mind. Not wanting to even think that. Dean cares for her. Over these past 2 years, he's proven that. And she didn't need this voice in her head to come back and force doubt upon her.

The Winchesters all get back to the motel room. Athena quickly makes her way to the bathroom and opens it. Her face lights up, "Lil' Gil, hey buddy!" she crouches down. A small meow comes from the black cat. He jumps from out of the bathtub and stretches. Gil trots over to the girl and jumps into her arms.

"All right, we get a couple hours' sleep, and then we put this place in our rearview mirror."

Athena walks back into the room, feeling the mix of emotions. She sits on one of the beds with a small breath leaving her lips. Dean looks at Athena and sees doubt across her face. Then he looks at Sam, guilt heavy in his heart. "I know this is bad, okay?" Dean starts, hoping to assure them. "But, you guys got to snap out of it."

Athena lays on the bed with her eyes on the ceiling. Gil curls up and lays on her stomach. Athena runs a hand over Gil's short black fur.

"Sam, say something."

Sam shrugs, "Just get some sleep and leave in the morning?"

"Murder, Dean—that's what I did." Sam states.

Dean slowly nods his head, "Maybe, okay?"

Sam scoffs.

"Hey, We don't—shapeshifter." Dean throws out an idea.

"Oh? Come on. You know it wasn't." Sam retorts.

"How do you know—"

"There wasn't any eye flare," Athena speaks, her good eye still on the ceiling. "no distortion."

"But it wasn't him, all right?" Dean replies. "I mean, it might have been him, but it wasn't him."

"Well, I think it was."

Athena and Dean turn to Sam. Even Gil lifted his head up. Athena lifts herself up on both her elbows and squints her good eye at Sam.

"Maybe more than you know." Sam sits down.

"What the hell does that mean?" Dean asks.

"For the last few weeks, I've been having...I've been having these feelings." Sam explains.

"Uh, what feelings?" Athena cranes her neck forward.

"Rage...hate,"

Athena's eye slightly widens and she frowns. "So...maybe, just maybe he might've done it."

"Athena!"

"What?! I said maybe!" Athena then exhales. She notices Gil looking at her. "I said maybe."

She could've sworn he rolled his eyes. Athena's jaw drops.

"I was just talking about being filled with rage and hate." Sam raises a hand. Athena slightly opens her mouth, remembering. "Oh, right--right. I'm sorry, continue.'

"I can't stop these feelings, you guys. They just keep getting worse." Sam explains. "Day by day, it gets worse."

"You never told us this," Dean speaks.

Sam takes his eyes off his hands. "I didn't want to scare you."

"Well, bang-up job on that." Dean frowns and stands up from the bed.

Athena snaps her fingers, "That was sarcasm, by the way, Sammy."

Sam sighs, "Guys, the yellow-eyes demon--you know he has plans for me."

Athena knits her brows together.

"And we all know that he's turned other children into killers before, too."

Her heart sinks, thinking about Max.

"No one can control you but you." Dean voices.

Sam scoffs, "It sure doesn't seem like that, Dean. It feels like no matter what I do, slowly but surely, I'm just becoming--"

"What?"

"He was about to speak--let him finish," Athena says, her eye glued to Sam.

"Who I'm meant to be." Sam finishes.

Dean scoffs and rubs his face.

"You said it once yourself, Dean," Sam starts. "i got to face up to who I am."

"Sam, this isn't you." Athena shakes her head.

Sam looks at his little sister. "You just said--"

"I said maybe, god! You guys are forgetting the maybe in that statement." Athena huffs.

"It's still true and you guys know it," Sam says, he stands up. "Dad knew that, too. That's why he told you if it ever came to this--"

"Shut up, Sam."

"Yeah, shut up, Sam!" Athena raises her voice. "No one's killing you!"

"Dean, you promised him," Sam speaks, his voice softer. "You promised me."

"I thought you didn't remember that..." Athena says softly, her brows pulled together.

"Listen to me," Dean starts. "we're gonna figure this out, okay? I mean, there's got to be a way, right?"

Sam slowly nods his head, "Yeah, there is." he grabs the gun from Dean's duffel.

Athena's back straightens. Sam holds the gun out to Dean, "I don't want to hurt anyone else."

The youngest Winchester picks Gil up and sets him to the side, so she could stand up.

"I don't want to hurt you guys," Sam speaks.

"Hold on, this isn't happening."

"You're right. It's not." Dean says agreeing with Athena. "Whatever this is, you can fight it."

"No, I can't..." Tears find Sam's eyes. "Not forever. Here. You got to do it."

"Uh, even if Dean would shoot you--"

"Which I'm not--"

"Which he's not." Athena holds up a finger. "We're in a motel room. He's not killing someone in a public space."

"If we don't do it now, then when?" Sam asks.

"Never!" Athena cries.

Sam grabs Dean's wrist and puts the gun in his hand.

Dean looks down at the gun in his hand. "You know, I've tried so hard to keep you safe..." he slowly nods his head. Dean then looks over at Athena, tears evident in her eye. "And I know I've been a shitty big brother."

"But I would do anything for you guys." Dean drops the gun back into the duffel. "I'm not going to kill you, Sammy."

"I'd rather die." Dean brushes past Sam and stands with his back to him. Athena lets out a small breath and an ounce of relief zooms through her body.

"No..." Sam murmurs. Athena looks at Sam with her brows raised. "...you'll live." he grabs the gun. Dean turns back to Sam. The middle Winchester looks at Dean, his gaze now hardened.

"You'll live to regret this."

Before either sibling could register, what Sam meant, he slams the butt of the pistol against Dean's head. Athena flinches and a cry escapes her lips. Dean falls to the ground, unconscious. Sam rolls his neck, it cracking. He turns to the shaken 12-year-old and she swallows.

"Sammy--"

"Time to go, Athy." He motions the gun towards the door. Athena shifts her gaze to Dean's unconscious body. Her breathing begins to quicken. Sam lets out a heavy impatient sigh. "He'll be fine. As long as you do as I say." he points the gun at Dean, his finger on the trigger.

Athena snaps her good eye over at Sam and squints. "You're not Sam, are you?"

An upside-down smile appears on Sam's lips. "You're so smart. I honestly thought losing sight in that left eye of yours would've made you a bit...stupid. But that's my little Athy for you." he flicks the gun toward the door. "Now move."

Athena's stomach turns and her body begins to shake. Her eye worriedly shifts back to Dean. As worried as she was for him, she wasn't going to risk his life by checking on him. Please let him be okay.

The black cat jumps off the bed and walks over to Dean. Athena lets out a small breath. She turns away from the thing that clearly wasn't her brother and walks over to the door "Are you gonna tell me who you are?"

"I'll let you figure that out. And I'm sure you will." Not Sam chuckles, he grabs the doorknob and pulls the door open. "After all, it is you."

Athena knits her brows together. Whoever this was had a familiar energy. They gave her so many compliments, just like...

"Meg."

Sam laughs, but it clearly wasn't the warm hearty laugh that you could instantly recognize as his. It was the kind of cocky laugh that a jackass would use to make himself known as the coolest in whatever room they were in.

"And how'd you figure that out?"

"You were being nice," Athena says, she walks out of the motel. "You complimented my intelligence before and Sam knows not to call me 'Athy'."

Meg follows after the girl. "Right...what's that about anyway?"

Athena shrugs, "I just have a preference."

"Well, I can respect that," Meg says. "if that was the only reason why you don't like the nickname."

"That's not the only reason, actually." Athena walks out of the building. "And those other reasons are none of your business."

Meg exhales sharply, "Well, that was mean." she pouts her lip. "I think I might cry."

Athena stops at the car and scoffs, "Well, I get you a tissue." she looks back at Meg and squints her good eye. "As soon as you get out of my brother's body."

Meg presses her lips together and hums softly. "Mmmm no. Nice try, though." she holds up the keys to the Impala.

"Now, be a good girl and get in the car."

The only thing Dean could feel was something licking his face. He softly giggles and small incoherent words leave his lips. Just when he thought, he was having the best dream in his life--he sneezed. Then he sneezed again.

Two sneezes in a row, meant his allergy medicine was wearing off. Which meant that cat was nearby. Dean flutters his eyes open and is greeted with emerald eyes that had a speck of yellow splattered in them.

"Who the hell are--"

Meow.

Dean's eyes widen and he sits up. "Oh, Gross!" he wipes his face. He then sneezes. "What the fuck?"

A rapid knock is heard at the door. The door then opens and Dean snaps his eyes over to the man entering the room.

"It's past your checkout."

Dean blinks, he slowly stands up, and rubs at his face. He finally realizes that the man had said something. "What?"

"It's past checkout, and I have a couple here that needs a room."

Dean looks at the couple that was most definitely not a couple. "Yeah, I'll bet they do...what time is it?"

"12:30." The man speaks. "And you're not allowed to have pets in here."

"It's not mine. It's my..." Dean pulls his brows together. The pain in his head was still evident. He looks at Gil, who was sitting on the floor with his head tilted to the side. Dean looks around the room, his breathing quick.

"Where's my sister?"

"Isn't that something you should know?"

Dean closes his eyes, trying to remember what happened. Sam knocked him out. Athena has to be with him. That's the only thing Dean could think of. "The guy that was with me--have you seen him?"

"Yeah, he left before dawn in your car, with a little girl," The man starts. Dean lets out a breath of relief. But then he ended up filled with worry. If Sam hurt him, then what was he going to do to Athena?

"and you should have gone with him because now I'm gonna have to charge you extra."

"Oh, son of a bitch..."

"It's just policy, sir."

Dean looks around, "I need to use your computer."

"Why would I let you use my computer?"

After giving the man basically all the money in his wallet, Dean was able to use the computer. He found Sam and Athena's location. They were on their way to Duluth, Minnesota. Dean packed all of his and his sibling's things, grabbed Gil (despite his allergies going crazy), and hitched a ride to Minnesota.

...

Athena was sitting in the passenger seat with her hands bound together by rope. "Whatever you're planning it won't work."

Meg softly hums, "And what is it I'm planning?" she rolls her head to the side and looks at the auburn-haired girl. Athena squints her good eye and her body tenses. Even if she knew it wasn't Sam, having her look at her with such a menacing look was still weird. Sam never would look at someone with such a sinister smile.

Athena swallows, and she forces herself to look away from the Demon in her brother's body. She keeps her good eye forward. "You're possessing Sam, making it seem like he's the one doing all these terrible things." Athena shales her head. "You're trying to force Dean's hand. See if you can push him far enough to kill Sam."

"You're so smart." Meg bunches her shoulders. Athena raises her brows, "So, you've said."

"It's not gonna work, you know? Dean's not gonna kill Sam."

Meg's jaw clenches, frustration rising in her. "We'll see..." A smirk twitches onto her lips. Athena's back straightens, "What was that?"

"What was what?"

"You have something planned. Tell me." Athena's voice was firm. Meg quirks a brow. "You do know that I'm a demon. I could kill you with the snap of my--"

"If you were going to kill me, you would've done it by now." Athena snaps.

Meg chuckles and slowly shakes her head. "Oh, wow. You are so much like her..."

"Like who?"

"You're mom, of course."

Athena's heart drops into her stomach and her entire body freezes. She didn't hear the demon right...

No, there's no way she did. Athena shifts in her seat. Is this chair always so uncomfortable?

"Cat got your tongue, Athy--"

"You're lying."

Meg frowns, "I could be..." she then clicks her tongue. "But here's the thing, Athy. I like you. And I want you to know the truth. Cause it's not like your brothers are going to help you out."

"They said that they would," Athena says.

Meg throws her head back and laughs. "Right, of course, they did. They weren't going to tell you 'no' straight to your face."

Athena pulls her brows together. "I mean, when was the last time they offered to help you find anything about your mom anyway?"

Athena sinks into her seat. She hated that Meg was actually making sense.

"You wanna know her name?"

Athena quickly looks back at Meg, her breathing coming to a halt. "What?--You know her name?"

Just from the way Athena's voice shakes, you could tell she was on the verge of tears. Meg smirks, "Of course, I do. She was a force in the supernatural world." she frowns. "But you wouldn't know that--obviously."

"What's her name?" Athena asks, her voice cracking.

Meg glances at the young girl and pouts her lip. She looks back at the road. "Faye Clarke."

Athena's body runs cold and tears well her eye. "F-Faye Clarke..." She looks down at her hands, allowing the tears to fall to her hands. A gut-wrenching thought pops into her head.

Athena Clarke.

Meg looks at Athena and sighs, "All right--look, kid. You're kind of making me feel bad. So...stop."

More tears fall from Athena's good eye. "Do you know the demon that possessed her?"

"Yeah."

"Who was it?" Athena quickly asks.

"Right, so...I'm not gonna tell you that."

Athena squints her eyes, "Why not?"

"Because we're here." Meg parks the car. Athena looks ahead, she pulls her brows together. "Why are we at a bar?"

Meg smirks, "I've gotta visit a friend..." She turns to the girl. "Have you checked up on Jo lately?"

Athena's heart drops into her stomach and her eyes widen. "Leave her alone." her voice was shaky but strong. Meg clicks her tongue, "Mmm—I don't think I will."

"Jo has nothing to do with this--I will do anything you want. Just leave her alone, please!"

Meg parks the car and looks at the teary Athena. "So...you thought just because we had some kind of..." she shudders. "...heart-to-heart that you crying was going to make me stop my plans?" she throws her head back and laughs. The laugh causes Athena to flinch. Meg grabs at Athena's wrist in a tight manner. She lets out a cry her breathing quick.

"Get out of my brother." Athena growls.

Meg pouts her lip, "You didn't say please." she shoves Athena back against the car door. Meg gets out of the car and slams the door shut. It locks behind her and Athena curses. She turns her head and watches Meg walk into the bar. Her breathing quickens and she looks down at the ropes around her wrists. "Mother...fucker!" she tries to pull her wrists from the restraints. Her wrists begin to become red and hot from rubbing them against the ropes. If Jo was in that bar, she wouldn't know that Sam was possessed by a demon.

What was she going to do to her?

Athena's chest tightens and her panic rises. Tears burn her eyes, but she shakes her head. She couldn't help Jo if she started crying. She wasn't going to let Jo down. Athena closes her eyes and inhales a deep breath, she then exhales a soft one; trying to clear the static in her brain.

Athena opens her eyes and exhales. "Knife..."

Meg had took the knife Bobby gave her, so Athena had to improvise. Athena looks around the Impala. What kind of Hunter didn't have an extra knife lying around? The answer? Every Hunter had one.

Athena raises her hands and pushes in the sunglasses compartment. It props open and Athena laughs. "Yes!" She grabs the dagger and cautiously slides the knife between the ropes. Athena begins to move the dagger back and forth, watching each twine of the rope snap.

As soon as the ropes snapped off her wrists. She tosses them to the side. Athena looks at the Impala window and quietly whines. "Oh, god..." she pouts her lip. "I'm sorry, Baby."

Athena grabs the headrest behind her and unscrews it from the seat. She presses the metal pegs against the bottom corner of the window. Athena presses the metal pegs as far down as she could and pulled.

The window shattered and Athena looks away from the window. She looks back at the window and chuckles. Athena takes her jacket off and places it over the glass that was still sticking out of the window. The 12 year old climbs through the window. She slips her jacket back on and grabs the knife.
