TALIA WAS COMPLETELY nervous, she felt like she was going to throw up. From the time that she ended her conversation with Michael, panic began to flow through her veins, knowing that she would be seeing the man she's actively been trying to avoid for the past few days. There was no way that she couldn't be nervous. He practically made his feelings clear and then she just ran. It was one thing that Talia seemed to be good at. When things got too personal, Talia was always the first to make her exit. She didn't want that anymore, she wanted to stay. She wanted to be happy.

And she knew that Luke could do that for her. But it scared her nonetheless. She knew deep down that he wouldn't hurt her, but fear is irrational. That's why she ran. But after three days of thinking, she had finally made up her mind. She wanted him, but she just didn't know how to get him back.

So when the opportunity of her being able to take care of Luke, her heart screamed for her to say yes, but her mind was telling her different. She thought maybe this wasn't the best idea for her, and maybe it wouldn't be the best idea for Luke. But she knew how stubborn he is, so she decided to say yes.

But ten minutes into waiting for the guys, Talia realized how tired she was. She hadn't gotten much sleep over the course of the past few days, and when Michael texted her she was about to pass out. Now here she was, sitting in her living room at two in the morning waiting for the guys to drag a very drunk Luke Hemmings into her apartment. She didn't know what was going to happen, but there's was a small part in her stomach that bubbled with curiosity as to how a drunk Luke acted like. She remembered partly from how he acted in the cocktail chats last year, but the way Michael talked about him, made her think he was much worse this time around.

A soft knocking on her front door caught the attention of the short black-haired girl, and it wasn't long before she found herself opening the door. And immediately she was met with the very exhausted Calum Hood and Michael Clifford as they gripped onto a drunk Luke that refused to make eye contact with Talia.

Her heart cracked a bit, but she just sent the two men a soft smile, "Rough night?"

"You tell me," Michael groaned, soon half hazard shoving the drunk blond right into Talia's arms. The girl sent Michael an incredulous look while he just sent her a grateful smile in return, "Well thanks again, we gotta run,"

"But Michae-" Talia was soon cut off by the slam of her front door, which made a loud groan escape Luke at the thundering noise.

Luke was still hunched over her arms, and he let out a soft moan, "I think I'm gonna be sick,"

Talia's eyes widened as a small panic flowed through her, but she played it off nicely as she placed a comforting hand on Luke's back, "Let's get you into the bathroom before you yak on my floor, okay?"

Luke didn't say anything but he softly nodded, Talia took that as a sign to move him to the bathroom. And the man didn't even bother resisting.

๊งโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏ๊ง‚

AS SOON AS LUKE made it to the bathroom, he was on the floor in front of the toilet instantly. Talia scrunched her face up in disgust at the sound of his violent puking, but ignored it as she moved her way to him. While his head was ducked in the toilet bowl, Talia kneeled down and gripped some of his hair so he'd have less of a chance to get puke on it. Talia was quiet as she observed him, feeling immensely guilty, cause she knew this was all her fault.

The girl felt like crying, knowing that she was the cause of him getting belligerently drunk. She didn't think it would take this turn, Talia thought he would stop talking to her and that would be the end of it. But now knowing that Luke got piss drunk to maybe get her off his mind, it hurt her heart. Maybe he had much stronger feelings than she thought.

Luke's head began to tip up out of the bowl, but ended up resting on the toilet seat. Talia let go of his hair and got up to get a cold washcloth that she could rest on his head. She felt his eyes on her the whole time, she bit her lip softly finding the gaze almost pressuring. But once she rang out the fabric, Talia made her way to sit against the wall that was next to her toilet.

"Here you go," Talia softly murmured to the man while reaching out the washcloth. But Luke surprised her by not only refusing to take the cloth, but he shifted himself so that he would be laying his head on her left thigh. Talia tensed up at the contact, but let out a sigh as she relaxed, knowing he was not thinking about it as much as she was.

Talia placed the cold fabric on his forehead delicately, feeling the tension in his shoulders fall. To make him feel better, Talia opted to run her fingers through his curly hair. He seemed to enjoy it since his heavy gaze on her was soon cut short as he closed his eyes. There was a small moment of silence but his words cause Talia to tense up, "I'm sorry,"

Talia felt like sobbing now, the fact that he thought it was his fault that she ran away, cracked her heart into a million pieces. A few tears trailed down her cheeks, knowing it was her fault, that she caused this mess, and now he thought he was to blame. The world really didn't deserve Luke Hemmings one bit. Hell, she didn't deserve him whatsoever.

Luke noticed her tears and reached a delicate hand up to wipe them away with his thumb, "Hey don't cry, you're too pretty to cry,"

Talia shook her head, wiping the tears away herself, "You're just too good for me,"

Luke scoffed, "I think it's the other way around Love,"

At that moment Talia wanted to kiss the living daylights out of him, but knowing he was drunk and also puked his practical guts up she thought it'd be best to wait. So with her tears dried up, she went back to running her hands soothingly through his hair. "We'll talk in the morning, okay?"

"Not gonna run this time?" Luke teased, which lead Talia's heart to speed up at him making a joke out of the whole thing.

Talia hummed, leaning her head over him to meet his gaze. "You couldn't make me leave, even if you tried,"

๊งโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏโŽฏ๊ง‚

THE FIRST THING Talia felt was a rush of pain in her back and neck. Opening her eyes, she realized she was still sitting on her bathroom floor. And not only that, but Luke's face was now nuzzled right against her stomach, with both his arms wrapped tightly around her midsection. Her heart thudded loudly at the adorable sight of Luke, completely forgetting why he was here. But then she remembered what happened last night, then a feeling of nausea fell over her.

She still couldn't believe she fell asleep sitting up, but she knew she probably did it for Luke, since he was the first to fall asleep in her lap. Talia remembered not having the heart to lift his head up, for he looked so goddamn adorable sleeping on her. Just like he did now, she just wanted to give him hundreds of smooches, due to how cute he looked all snuggled up to her.

A sudden groan made the girl jump lightly, she looked back down and saw Luke's eyes flutter open. It wasn't long before they met Talia's, which made her breath literally leave her body at the blue irises. But she gave him a hesitant smile, "Good morning,"

Luke groaned, shoving his head back into Talia's stomach. The girls breath hitched hearing his muffled voice rumble on her stomach, "Good morning,"

Talia dug her hand into the back of his curls, not even thinking about how weird this would be since they weren't even together. Luke seemed to enjoy the touch as he let out a soft sigh. Talia smiled lightly to herself, "You want some ibuprofen?"

Luke shook his head, turning his head to meet her, "I'm fine with this,"

Talia rolled her eyes, but a smile was evident on her lips, she soon was pulling Luke and herself up, "I'm going to get you some ibuprofen and coffee,"

"But-"

"Nope, there's an extra tooth brush under the sink, and when you're done meet me in the kitchen," Talia didn't wait for a reply from him, but she saw the small pout on his lips as she shut the door behind her.

Talia took a moment in the kitchen to get her shit together. Her emotions were short circuiting, she felt like she was gonna explode. And that was just because of the interaction that happened in the bathroom.

She had no clue why he was acting like that, but hey, she certainly wasn't complaining. Talia was drowning in happiness at the simple acts, and she hoped that maybe they could talk shit out. Cause that's all she wanted to do.

A soft cough caught her attention, turning with a cup of coffee and ibuprofen, she was met with a hungover Luke Hemmings. Her chest tightened seeing the messy curls framing his face. She never had the urge to kiss someone more in her life. "Here's your coffee, cream and four sugars right?"

Luke smiled softly, finding a seat at the island in the middle of her kitchen. "Yeah, thank you,"

Talia leaned herself against the island watching him down the pills with the coffee, "How's your head?"

Luke shrugged, "It hurts, but it's nothing I can't handle,"

Talia nodded, but the two soon fell into an awkward silence. And it let the tension that the two had, fill the small kitchen. Talia's eyes fell down to her hands as she played with them out of nervousness. "Luke I wanted to talk about the party a few days ago. And I just wanted to say that-"

"I get it," Luke sighed stirring his coffee with a frown etched on his face.

Talia tilted her head in confusion, "You do?"

"Yeah you just want to forget about the whole thi-"

"I don't want to forget about it,"

Luke snapped his head up at the confession, and look of wonder fell upon his features, "You don't?"

Talia furiously shook her head, and smile planted her lips, "Of course I don't want to,"

"Then why'd you run?"

Talia bit her lips, attempting to hold in emotions that's she's tried so hard to ignore, "Cause I was scared,"

"Talia," The girl refused to make eye contact with him, so Luke found his way over to her and grabbed her hands in one swift movement. "Tal look at me,"

The girl lifted her head to meet his gaze, and this time her eyes were lined with tears, "I'm really sorry Luke,"

Talia practically collapsed in his arms, her own wrapping tightly around his midsection. Luke cupped her cheeks, gently lifting her head so he could see her face. He wiped away the tears with his thumbs, leading Talia to lean into his touch. "I'm just really sorry, I'm just scared of getting hurt in another relationship,"

"Love, I wouldn't do that to you,"

Talia's eyes fluttered shut as she sighed, "I know, just getting in a new relationship is scary for me,"

"If I promise not to hurt you could we give this a try?" Luke questioned, making a playful smile twitch on Talia's lips.

"Hmm I'll think about it," Talia teased, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Luke rolled his eyes but pulled her closer by wrapping his arms around her waist. Talia's heart sped up watching Luke's face come closer to her, a confident smile found it's way to Luke's lips, hearing the hitched breath escape Talia. "What could I do to make you say yes?"

Talia let out a gasp feeling her back side hit the island behind her, "A-A kiss would be nice,"

Luke smirked and tilted his head, "A kiss? That's it?"

Talia nodded her head lightly, "M-Maybe,"

"Well then Love, a kiss you will receive,"

HI GUYS TODAY'S A/N IS IMPORTANT CAN YOU PLEASE READ!!!!

So a lot of heavy things are happening right now and America is just completely going to shit. And with the death of George Floyd caused a lot of outrage throughout the country. Which is exactly something that should happen. Black lives matter is something that's so important to me and the conversations around it should never stop.

Racism is something that is so alive in the world right now and if you're someone that says racism doesn't exist, that's complete bullshit, it's very much alive. And it's fucking disgusting to watch the horrible things done to People of Color. They deserve so much better than all the prejudice and hurt they receive.

And if you wanna help, please look online for many ways you can donate and or sign petitions. I have a petition to get justice for George Floyd linked on my message board, so please go sign it and share it, it literally only takes two seconds to sign. And I'll have a twitter thread linked in my announcement for this chapter where they have listed a bunch of petitions you can sign.

I'm really glad to see people on wattpad using the platform they have to do good and keep the conversation alive. It's very important in these times to not stop talking about this horrible injustice.

I know some of you don't follow me so I wanted to post this so you could go to my page and sign the petitions.

And I partly wanted to publish this chapter to give you some lighthearted content in such a dark time.

And just remember, black lives should always fucking matter.

BUT IMPORTANT THING.

What did you all think?

I really would like your feedback on this, so please leave a comment.
