"He's still here. This is Five's van!" Luther said as he, Dusk, and Diego reached the cleaning van still parked in front of the Meritech building. "He's not in here!" the raven said, poking her head out when she finished looking inside the driver and passenger seats. "But I did find this," She held out Vanya's book, and the two men looked at her with confusion. "Why does Five have her book? What does that have to do with him being here?" Diego asked. "Look inside, Dumbo," Dusk sighed exasperatedly.

Diego flipped through the pages and saw the stamp of the nearby public library on the first page. "I think I know where Five is," Diego said. "Well, let's get going!" Dusk said, hopping out of the van. Firetrucks howled and sped down the street, and they glanced over to see that the Meritech building was engulfed in flames. "Holy shit, what happened?" Luther asked. "I don't know. But it's not good," Diego said as the three of them rushed over to the library, hoping to find Five safe and sound.

"Let's split up," Dusk suggested once they finally made it inside the library and began searching the different floors. But with each one that went checked, there was no luck in finding him. "Anything yet?" Diego asked. "Nope," She shook her head. Diego and Luther started talking to each other, and Dusk tried to block out the things they were saying. The only reason why she came with them was that she was searching for Klaus and trying to make sure he was okay after last night's debacle.

"Where are his parents?" One of the librarians said, walking past the three of them in a rush. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the reflection of a certain pair of black shoes in one of the windows. She rushed over to find Five leaning against a stone pillar with equations all over the walls. His face was covered in ashes, and he held his mannequin Delores, in one arm, and a bottle of alcohol in his other hand, rolling onto the floor.

"Numbnuts! Come look at this!" She called out to Luther and Diego. When they caught the sight of their brother, Diego held back a snicker as he smelled the alcohol coming from his clothes. "Is he?" Luther trailed off after catching the whiff of the liquor. "Drunk as a skunk," Diego nodded. "So, what do we do about him?" Luther asked. Dusk sighed and bent down next to Five, picking him up in her arms as he squirmed and groaned. "Don't touch me, motherfucker..." He said before dozing off again.

"We get him someplace safe," Dusk sighed. The three of them walked out of the building, Dusk still holding her brother tightly. He eventually woke up again and started rambling nonsense as the three sober siblings thought of a safe place to hide him from the intruders. "Well, we can't go back to the house. It's not secure. Those psychopaths could come back at any moment," Luther said, ruling one option out. "We can go to my place. It's closer, and no one will find him there," Diego suggested.

"What were you still doing out there? Did you ever find your guy?" Dusk whispered. The only response Five gave was a burp in her face. "If you vomit on me, I swear to god, I will make Apeman carry you," she said firmly, keeping an eye out for Klaus in case he was nearby. "Looking for your junkie?" Five slurred. "He's not my junkie. I'm just worried about him," Dusk denied as she continued to look around. "Heh. You two were making goo-goo eyes to each other when you were kids. We all saw it!"

"You know what else is funny? I'm going through puberty twice! I drank that whole bottle, didn't I? That's what you do when the world you love goes bye-bye. Poof, it's gone," Five rambled. "Two masked intruders attacked the academy last night," Luther explained when Five asked what he and Diego were talking about. "They were looking for you. So, I need you to focus. What do they want?" Diego added.

"Hazel and Cha-Cha," Five muttered. The three of them came to a stop, and Diego was beginning to get angry with him but was trying to keep his composure. "We're just trying to help you," He said calmly. "Protect me. I-I don't need your protection, Diego. Do you have any idea how many people I've killed?" Five rolled his eyes as he adjusted himself in Dusk's arms. "I'm assuming a lot of people?" Dusk guessed. "I'm the fourth frickin horsemen. The apocalypse is coming," Five slurred before he turned over to Dusk's shoulder and vomiting down the front of her shirt.

"And I'm done. I'm not carrying him any further. You guys take him to Diego's place. I have to go change," Dusk sighed as she handed Five over to Luther and walked down the street, trying to block out the smell of vomit. "Eww gross," Dusk gagged as she walked back to the Academy.

~~~~~~~
Back in the motel room, Hazel and Cha-Cha sat on the floor, their guns in hand as they hid in a corner, hoping that written message on the van's windshield had made it to Five. As they waited for him, the ghost of the Russian woman continued chanting, getting on Klaus' nerves. "Look at her. She's one of their victims," Ben noted the longer he stared at the poor woman.
"You haven't been this sober since you were a teenager, since you decided to keep the ghosts at bay. This is your chance, Klaus. To control them, learn their secrets. Try to talk to her," In Klaus's mind, Ben was right, maybe he could find out something about the woman that could freak out both of his captors, and maybe then, he could find a way to escape while they were distracted. "H-Hi!" Klaus said, putting on a cheery face for the ghost. The woman glanced over at him and smiled back, giving Klaus a clear look at her bullet wound.
"What's your name?" Klaus continued. "Zoya Popova," She responded.  "Oh! That's a lovely name. And can you tell me what happened?" Hazel and Cha-Cha were confused by what was going on, having no idea who Klaus was even talking to. "What happened is if you don't shut up, I'm gonna cut your tongue out with a grapefruit spoon," Cha-Cha threatened. "Zoya Popova," Klaus repeated, making Cha-Cha and Hazel look over in confusion. "What did he say?" Hazel asked.
"Zoya Popova? Old Russian broad, short, with a limp. Oh, she's really pissed at you guys," Klaus explained, subtly chuckling at the end. A short time later, more ghosts started to appear in the room. All of them were Hazel and Cha-Cha's victims. One man had his fingers all chopped off, One woman had a slashed throat, another woman had been suffocated to death, and a man had his nipples shocked off.
"He pretended to have car trouble, and when I stopped to help, he ran me over. Forward, reverse. Then he saw my wife waiting for me in the car. She ran," Another man said as he talked about what happened to him. "Just shut up! Please shut up. Jesus, you guys are worse than the drugs," Klaus begged. "How could he possibly know about Zoya Popova?" Hazel whispered.
"Who cares? You need to focus. That little psycho could show up any minute. Or do you want to be docked pay again, go back and tell them we couldn't hack it, face those consequences? Pull it together, now!" Cha-Cha growled. Hazel and Cha-Cha spun the chair around, and Klaus told them about one of their victims and how his wife escaped down an alleyway. Cha-Cha looked over at Hazel in disbelief and dragged him towards the bathroom.
"Nicely done," Ben smiled. "Thank you," Klaus smiled back at him. He could hear their conversation from the bathroom as one of the ghosts continued talking. "Jan says you're a real mensch, Hazel!" Klaus shouted. Cha-Cha walked back to the bedroom and put the duck tape on Klaus' mouth and walked back to the bathroom. The door slammed shut, and instantly, Klaus started moving the chair towards the hotel door. He let out a muffled cry for help as footsteps passed by, but when they didn't stop, he banged his head on the nearby table, hoping to get their attention.
The door slowly opened, and he saw a woman in a brown leather jacket and purple shirt creep over to him. "Are you Diego's brother?" She asked. Klaus nodded his head, desperate for her to help him. "I'm Detective Patch," From behind the duck tape, Klaus tried to warn her about his capturers. But she put a finger to her lips as she freed him from his bindings. A gunshot rang out, and Klaus quickly jumped towards the bed and crawled over to a nearby vent, pulling off the covering.
Inside was a briefcase, blocking his way out. But he pushed through it with the case and found his way out of the motel. On one of the city buses, he stared at the briefcase, wondering what contents were inside. "Please be money. Only money. Or treasure. Diamonds," He begged. But when he went to open the case, he disappeared.
With a harsh landing, he found himself in the middle of a warzone in Vietnam.
