I decided to walk to school Monday morning. After a way too eventful weekend, I thought it would do great for me to listen to some music and just be in my own little space before school. Harry had actually sounded happy when I called him and told him I didn't wanna get picked up. I assumed that the cause of his excitement for not driving me was so he could skate to school. He finally got a new skateboard, after it 'mysteriously' had swum in the Holland's pool, broken in two pieces after one of Tom's parties.

Skating wasn't one of Harry's favorite things to do (of course his favorite thing was to go rollerskating with me, duhh), but he enjoyed skating every now and then and his smile had grown bigger than ever when he had opened my present, containing a brand new board.

I stopped at my locker to get my history books and notes. I plugged out my earbuds and let out a sigh. History had always been so boring to me. As I opened my locker a little white paper fell out. A big smile curved on my lips as I picked up the little note with my name and a heart written on it. It felt as if I was in a movie. My cheeks heated and I eagerly opened the note.

Hah, got you. I'm no simp. It said and my smile faded. What a jerk.

"Did you really think I was that kind of guy that spends all of his time writing cheesy love notes?" A voice behind me scoffed, taking me by surprise and making me jump. I turned around to meet Tom's eyes.

"It doesn't hurt being that guy once in a while." I whispered with a huff and then turned to grab my books from my locker.

"Come on Y/N, disappointed I didn't confess my love to you?" He said seductively, moving closer to me.

"Confess his love to me?" I repeated his words in my head, smiled and slowly leaned into him. My back on his chest and his arms slowly making their way to wrap around my waist made me almost forget where we were.

"Not here Y/N." I quickly got myself back on track, moved away, grabbed my books and turned around to head to class, not giving him a single look.

"And then you leave. Am I really that hard to resist?" He grabbed my wrist, preventing me from walking away without saying a word.

"We're at school Tommy." I said and shook off his hand, nervously looking around for anyone who might have seen 'this'. His smile grew as I let the word 'Tommy' out of my mouth. Clearly he loved when I called him that.

"I don't care." He smirked and stepped closer. I smiled as I turned around and headed to history class.

"Hi! What a great party it was last Friday! Thank you for inviting us." Audry said as I sat down at our new usual table. She's always the nicest. Jake nodded, assuring me he was thankful too.

"Of course you were invited! Thank you for coming." I said and smiled at them both.

Audry and Jake had really become such good friends to me and eventually we always ate together in the cafeteria. Lately, a few new faces had joined the table and I surprisingly felt happy talking to new people. It has never really been my 'thing' talking to new people. Harry had always been friends with Audry and Jake, but as said before, I had always been very antisocial. I'd started being more outgoing and social by then. I didn't know whether it was Tom's impact on me or if I was just growing up.

Another two new faces came by, fist bumped Harry and sat down. The table was now full. Weird. These people was most likely someone from the party. I must admit, I had drunk a little too much and may have forgotten a thing or two.

Sitting at a full table for the first time ever was surprisingly really nice, although all I wanted was some alone time with Harry. After all the secrets, I mostly just wanted to have a genuine talk with my best friend about random things. I missed talking about things with him without having to lie..

"We didn't get to say goodbye to you at the party Y/N." A guy next to Jake said. I didn't remember him.

"No, I.. I didn't feel so.." I said, but stopped as a hand landed on my shoulder.

"..good." I whispered, finishing my sentence, my mouth dropping as Tom sat down besides me. He wrapped an arm around my back and tried pulling me into his chest, but I withstood. Did he know what he was doing? To be honest, I mostly wanted to lean into him and let him place his soft kisses on my head, but I couldn't in front of the whole table. Especially not in front of Harry.

"What are you doing?" Harry said, startled by the sight of Tom's arm around me, his eyes switching from Tom's to the arm around me. Tom removed his arm, leaving my shoulders cold and empty.

"Nothing. I just wanted to talk to my bro." He shrugged. I felt him glancing at me, but I kept my look straight forward. I may have looked like I was in shock, but I knew that if our eyes met, I wouldn't be able to hold back my smile.

Tom got up and walked away without saying another word.

"What was that all about?" Harry questioned and I noticed the whole table looking at me.

"I have no idea." I said, my heart racing, scared that someone would get suspicious of Tom and I.

"Weird, right?" I said and let out an awkward chuckle. My new friends' voices around the table slowly started overlapping each other again and I was not the center of attention anymore. In relief, I let out a sigh.

But.. what was that all about? Did he forget our 'relationship' was private? Was he just teasing me? Or was he tired of 'us' being a secret?

My phone buzzed, but I ignored it and acted like I was invested in Audry's and another girl's conversation about.. dogs I think?

"Aren't you gonna see who's texting you?" Harry said and pointed to my phone. He's always so observant. Before I got to answer he grabbed my phone. He's also very nosy.

"Hey!" I said and reached over the table, trying to get my phone from my annoying best friend. Harry laughed, took a glance at the screen, then squinted his eyes and moved closer to the screen.

"Since when are you hiding your notifications?" He frowned and I quickly grabbed my phone from his hand.

"Why? Am I not allowed to have privacy nowadays?" I said nervously and laughed.

"Are you hiding something from me?" He said while looking kinda disappointed. I wrinkled my brows and a bad taste filled my mouth.

"I just.. I just didn't want you to look at my phone and accidentally ruin get your present spoiled. I mean, imagine you would've looked at my phone, just like now, and I had gotten a mail about your skateboard arriving soon or something." I said and smiled to make it credible.

"I turned it off weeks ago so you wouldn't see." I added as he didn't say anything.

I actually had just turned it off yesterday. After Tom grabbed my phone and kinda seemed weird about it, I decided to hide my notifications. Luckily I did, cause I had just checked my phone and it actually was Tom that had messaged me.

"So you haven't got a boyfriend?" He said and winked, back to his dorky self.

"Not yet." I said and giggled.

I looked down at my phone and smiled at the text.

Tom: Why can't I sit with my pretty lady and eat lunch?☹️

"Good thing Harry didn't see that message."

Me: People will get suspicious.

Tom: Idc, I want you.

Me: Not cheesy you said?

*seen*

And he left me on seen. Of course. I giggled and put my phone in my bag.

Just before class started, I wanted to find Tom and remind him to be careful. I excused myself from the table. Harry questioned me as to where I was going, I lied and told him I was heading to the bathroom. Very nosy as I said.

Walking out the cafeteria I heard a familiar voice and it sounded like it was yelling. I headed towards the voice and when I eventually turned around a corner, I saw Tom yelling at Harrison. Why was he yelling? And why did he look so angry at Harrison? I hoped it had nothing to do with Harrison getting me home that night at the party. After all, it was Tom's own fault.

"Okay I won't man, but you NEED to sooner or later. You can't keep doing this. And I can't keep watching it." Harrison said firmly back at Tom, not touched by Tom's attitude.

What did Tom need to do? This didn't sound like an argument about Haz following me home.

"You shouldn't eavesdrop." I tried convincing myself.

The bell rang - thank god - and stopped my eavesdropping. I turned around and headed to my class. It was not my place to meddle. I needed to mind my own business - although I really was curious. I was pretty sure Tom and Harrison were best mates and Harrison would be the last person I thought Tom would yell at - I mean besides Tessa. It was probably not that big of a deal. Maybe they were used to argue? Or maybe it's just boy stuff. Either way, it's none of my business.
