Around his throat were four fingers, gripping tightly. He was pushed into the records room by force, death waiting for him if he resisted. When you saw the two men enter, you drew your blade. Anger seethed through you, but that rage was only a mask for the fear that swallowed you.

"Let him go, Shigaraki," You ordered him firmly.

"Or what?" Shigaraki mocked, pushing Izuku closer to you by the neck. "You'll kill me? Like I won't be able to kill him before you take a step?" You watched Izuku struggle against Shigaraki. Your heart ached to see him so pained, that distraught look in his emerald-colored eyes hurt. Why did it hurt so much to see him in pain? It was because you loved him, wasn't it?

"I always knew you were the traitor," Shigaraki laughed wickedly. "You were always so perfect, Master's favorite little project. If only he could see you now, (Y/n)! Betraying your own father for a pathetic high school crush!" You said nothing, too busy coming up with a plan to make a comeback. "Kill him," Shigaraki instructed, holding Izuku out to the edge of your blade. You narrowed your eyes.

"Kill him and All For One will never know what a snake you are," Shigaraki promised, gripping Izuku's throat tighter, making it harder for the young hero to breathe. "If not, I'll kill the brat and then I'll kill you." You couldn't live with yourself if you took the light from behind Izuku's eyes. You couldn't bring yourself to do such a thing.

You pushed one foot forward, slicing upwards swiftly and accurately. The edge of your sword didn't cut the boy you loved, instead, it tore a gash onto the back of Shigaraki's hand. This allowed Izuku a chance to escape from Shigaraki's grip and tumble down onto the floor. Now that the young hero was out of harm's way, you easily knocked Shigaraki to the ground. You had always been able to best Shigaraki in combat.

"Are you alright?" You frantically asked Izuku, dropping to your knees beside him.

"I'm fine," He coughed, giving you a reassuring smile. You admired his ability to smile in such dire situations. You gently reached out to brush your fingers against his cheek.

"The others'll be here any second," Izuku told you, pulling your attention away from the villain currently escaping. "You have to go now." You shook your head, insisting you stayed. You didn't know why you felt the need to be near him until he was on his feet again, but the urge was too intense to ignore.

"I'm not leaving you," You responded seriously. The door to the records room burst open, several heroes arriving, just like Izuku had said. Without hesitation, one of the heroes attacked you. Before the hero could land their attack, Izuku leaped up.

You watched in shock as he took the blunt force of the attack so you didn't have to. Again, the boy was knocked to the ground. This made the heroes pause, stopping to wonder why he would take a metaphorical bullet for you. This gave you the opportunity to flee, but where to?
