"Can I talk to you before you go home?" Yagi requested. Izuku could feel the seriousness radiating off the man before him. Though it was a question, the young hero felt as if he had no other choice. He followed his mentor to a place where they could speak alone. The atmosphere was dead silent, the grave aura of his mentor infecting the room. He wasted no time getting to the point.

"Why did you protect that villain?" Yagi asked, turning to look at his pupil. Izuku wasn't sure if he could bring himself to lie directly to his hero's face.

"Shigaraki escaped before the other heroes arrived," Izuku began truthfully, seeing how long he could be honest, "but he would have killed me if she hadn't saved me." In any other context, Yagi would have taken him at his word. This was different. Between inside information, the UA security camera footage, and now this... Yagi was beginning to question just how much his mentee wasn't telling him.

"She was the one on the security tapes, wasn't she?" Yagi asked with a solemn expression. As Izuku hesitated to answer, Yagi's worst suspicions were confirmed. Izuku knew lying would only make things worse. Maybe his mentor would understand, maybe Yagi would see it the way he did.

"It is," Izuku confessed, nodding his head slowly. "I-I know I lied before, but only because I was trying to protect her! I love her!" His own words shocked him, he had just blurted them out. He meant them. Izuku watched as his mentor stepped back in disbelief, struggling to wrap his head around the concept.

"How... How did this happen?" Yagi demanded in a dumbfounded manner.

"She's a double agent!" Izuku explained frantically. "She's been giving me information about The League of Villain's plans for months, all of it reliable." Yagi was skeptical at first. "But now Shigaraki knows and he's out to kill her. There has to be something the heroes can do!" The man sighed deeply. He had wondered how Izuku came to find all the inside information he provided to the heroes. After some time, Izuku's excuses were hard to believe.

"I... " Yagi paused, unsure if there was anything the heroes could do. "I'll ask around, but I can't make any promises." Izuku thanked him genuinely. However, he couldn't shake the guilt he harbored. He just so happened to forget to mention who your father was.

The boy hurried home. He was met with a big hug from his mother and a thankful smile that his injuries were minor. With a sigh, she let him retreat to his bedroom, knowing he needed to rest. But when he entered, he found someone waiting for him.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know where else to go," You admitted, an apologetic look on your face. "I won't stay, but--" You were cut off by Izuku placing a kiss on your lips. Instantly, your train of thought was derailed and all you could think about was how his lips felt against yours.

"You can stay as long as you need," He told you gently. You tucked your arms around the young hero. The feeling of his embrace was the most comforting thing you have ever experienced. He kissed the top of your head.

"I was almost killed tonight," Izuku reminisced quietly. "And I don't wanna die not knowing what it feels like to tell you I love you." His words almost made tears form in your eyes. You had never felt like this before.

"I love you too," You muttered, unable to muster anything more. Though he didn't know the feeling personally, being disowned by the only family you have must be beyond difficult. Nevertheless, Izuku was determined to give you some kind of solace.
