It was cloudy, but not cold. It was actually pretty warm that day, way back in our high school years. Lunch had just started and I was eating outside by myself near the vending machines. I never minded being by myself, but then you came along.

The boy's hands had been deep into his pockets as if to hide them from the world. That signature scowl had been on his face. He wore it like he was proud of it. You had heard him approaching, the purposed footsteps startled you. You scrambled to your feet and hid behind a sharp corner.

Just like the creep you were back then, you lurked. You watched as he leaned against a wall to enjoy the drink he purchased. Kageyama had appeared far too intimidating for you to approach him. So instead, you watched from afar. You thought he was the most gorgeous boy you had ever seen.

I remember seeing you for the first time. I saw you standing there and it felt like my whole world buffered. You looked so intense and mysterious, yet perfectly at ease. Instantly, I knew I had a crush on you. It was a little sad, though. I had to wait months before I had the nerve to actually talk to you.

You had scurried over to the gym you knew the boy's volleyball team practiced in. Their practice had been just about to end, but the last thing you wanted to do was interrupt. Not that you have ever had the guts to anyways. The doors to the gym had been propped open so you could peer inside and watch them play.

You had sat down outside the building, pretending to do some sort of homework. Part of you had been afraid to look up from your notebook, but when you had, you had been met with the boy you had come to stalk in the first place.

You probably didn't even notice me. I wouldn't have had the courage to speak up if you hadn't been by yourself. I was practically shaking as I stood up to try and get your attention. You looked so focused, even though you weren't playing. I thought you were really handsome.

"Um, excuse me," You had said out loud, making Kageyama turn his head in your direction. "Hi, I'm (Y/n). I-I think the way you throw the ball is really cool." That was all you had managed to muster. You had watched as his eyebrows furrowed, he was thoroughly confused. He had wondered why you were talking to him. Girls had never talked to him, let alone pretty ones.

"It... it's called a set," Kageyama had chocked out. He had tried to remain composed, but it had been difficult to stay cool around someone he had thought to be so cute. When he had returned to the gym, Kageyama had been met with relentless teasing from his teammates.

I wanted to include this. You don't have to keep it, but I couldn't bring myself to throw it away.

Tobio unfolded the small piece of notebook paper you had tucked into the first envelope. The page was covered in doodles, scribbles, and faux sentences. This was the piece of paper you were pretending to do homework on while you waited for him.

It felt like so long ago. Tobio remembered that day vividly, but that day was covered in a haze in his mind; a sort of dreamy fog, as if it never really happened. He was beyond thankful, it wasn't just a dream he had.
