BY THE TIME Ladybug and Chat Noir had gotten back from patrol, it was nearly two in the morning. Two in the morning on a rainy morning, but the moon was out and the stars were shining. Could have been worse weather to fight a villain in, but it definitely could have also been better.

Ladybug smiled and turned to her partner, who was grinning goofily at her, as always. She raised a fist for a pound it! but he seems to have already beat her to it.

Chat Noir bumped his fist lightly against hers. She could feel his ring, even through her super suit. It never hurt, only felt a little weird.

"Pound it," Chat Noir said, fatigue lacing his voice. His head slumped forward and he yawned, his mouth opening into the abyss, just as a normal cat's mouth would when it yawned.

"Pound it," Ladybug laughed, smiling at him. "You should get home. It's late."

Chat Noir waved her away, "Of all the things to do when we still have three minutes left, why would I go? I'd much rather spend time here with you; even if it's only silence; even if I end up asleep on this roof and retransform in the middle of the night after you leap away."

Marinette frowned on the inside, but her Ladybug person just giggled the comment into the open air. The girl behind the mask felt bad - this boy was so deeply in love with her, but she had her eyes on her own prize - Adrien Agreste.

"Alright - just for three minutes," Ladybug agreed, nodding at him. Chat smiled sleepily at her, a gesture that she awkwardly returned after a moment of silence.

The streets of Paris this late at night - or this early in the morning, depending on how you looked at it - were exceptionally beautiful. Most of Paris's beauty came from the people on the streets in the daytime. But during the night? You got to appreciate it for what it truly was, chipped wood, uneven cobblestone walkways and all. Or perhaps the city was more beautiful for her at this point in the twenty four hour rotation, because this was a common time for her to defeat a villain. After an hour of hard work and dealing with Chat Noir's mid - fight flirting, she was a bit too drunk on relief that the moment was over to recognize the city's flaws.

Ladybug turned her head, just to realize that Chat Noir had indeed fallen asleep next to her on the roof. She sighed and shook her head. Irresponsible cat . . . adorable and irresponsible cat.

She was about to wake him up, but her earring beeped. The heroine sighed and swung her yoyo in the direction of her home, the Dupain-Cheng Patisserie.

Perking his ears up at the familiar sound of his lady's yoyo swinging from left to right, Chat Noir perked up his head. "M'lady . . .?"

"Shhh," Ladybug silenced him, pushing a finger to his lips softly. "The moon is singing you a lullaby. You can sleep now, but I . . ." Another disruptive beep from the earrings. She tried to look over at them, even though she really couldn't see her ear. Chat Noir got the point, regardless. "I have to go."

The fourteen year old super hero nodded. His black leather ears drooped a bit, but his eyes shined under the moonlight. "Good Night, M'Lady."

"Goodnight Chat," Ladybug whispered to him, then tugging on her yoyo. She let the magical item drag her away, away, and further away from her romantic partner, and closer, closer, and only closer to her bed, where she would hopefully get a third of a night's worth of sleep before school the next morning.
