this is maroon! we have been looking all over the bay we're staying in for hermit crabs and we found them! i picked him because of his noice shell and he seemed so introverted compared to other crabs. at first, he was very curious, he was squirming all around his cage when we were eating dinner. i checked to see if he had gonopodes and he didn't! proving he was a male.

i thought he was very curious and hyperactive. but he's a shy crab, really. he gets nervous when i pick him up and takes a long time in his shell. so maybe he's just getting used to the new people? who knows tbh

here he is on my sleeve. don't worry, it's okay. it's way easier to cling onto the fabric than a bare arm. plus, no pinches. plus, he pinched my nail tonight (thank god it was a nail, not skin) and that wasn't nice :(. don't be a meanie maroon 💖
