Chapter Two

Harry

Harry finally had a somewhat peaceful life now that Voldemort was gone.

Harry, Hermione, and Ron were some of the many students that came to Hogwarts to retake their seventh year of school. Since Harry and his friends had missed a year, Ginny was now in the same class as the three friends.

Classes were the same, and there was much more cheer in the air for the ever-lasting threat of Voldemort was finally silenced. Harry was currently heading over to his class of Care of Magical Creatures with Hagrid, who had told all of the students to gather by his hut at the beginning of class.

When they all arrived Hagrid led them into the forest to deal with a few wild animals that had been roaming the forest for a while. Headmistress McGonagall had approved of this, seeing as most of the seventh year students had survived fighting against Voldemort and his many Death Eaters.

Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Ginny chatted absentmindedly as they walked through the forest. When Hagrid called them back to the group, they got many more congratulations—Harry in particular—and they were still laughing and chatting. As the students were walking back to the castle since they hadn’t found anything exciting they joked around with each other.

All of a sudden Hagrid stopped the students with a wave of his hand and gestured to them to stay where they were. So that’s what they did, except for Harry and his friends. They all crept forward with Hagrid quietly and found a surprising sight in front of them.

There were five boys and four girls standing near a gigantic dog and talking with each other. The first boy had dark black shaggy hair, sea green eyes, a tan and muscular body, and an easygoing expression on his face. The second boy had icy blue eyes and blond hair. He was as muscular as the first boy, but he had a more focused expression. The third boy had a mischievous face, curly brown hair and brown eyes. The fourth boy was extremely muscular with a military buzz cut, but the thing that ruined the image was his babyish face. The fifth and final boy was obviously younger than the first four, he had black hair, brown eyes, and was wearing a lot of black and a skull ring on one of his fingers.

The first girl had blonde hair and stormy grey eyes with a fierce expression on her face. The second girl had brown hair in braids and her eyes seemed to keep on changing colors. The third girl had frizzy brown hair and what looked like gold eyes. The fourth and final girl had spiky black hair, eyes just as blue as the boy with blond hair, and she also had a fierce expression on her face. She wore a silver circlet on her head, which seemed to ruin the image of her black clothes except for the silver parka she wore.

All of their eyes seemed to hold sadness, and Harry got the feeling that they had seen too much too quickly, but he couldn’t even try to guess why.

Hagrid turned around gave a start, seeing Harry, Hermione, Ron, Neville, and Ginny, but gestured for them to stay where they were and be quiet. Unfortunately, Neville stepped on a dry branch which snapped loudly underneath his foot. Neville cringed as all of the teenagers whirled around to face them. Immediately they had some sort of weapon in their hands, except for the boy with the black hair—he seemed to obviously be the leader—who was holding . . . a pen?
