It was 11:05 when Indi pulled up to the park. She could see blonde from where she was parked, she watched her look up from her phone every so often to see if Indi decided to come or not. And with that the brunette took a deep breath and stepped out of her car being hit with slightly harsh wind. She dropped her phone into her pants pocket as she walked over to Kate.

She walked around the bench before sitting at the end of it, waiting for Kate to feel her presence. "You came" Kate's voice was soft as she put her phone away. Her blonde hair fell messily out of her ponytail along with a light red tint covering her cheeks, from what Indi could assume the girl had just done a workout around the park.

"Yeah" Indi gave her a nod, "I just don't get why you wanna talk? I mean I think we've said a lot to one another" the brunette let out a low laugh that held a grudge towards the girl.

"I just want to apologize in person. I did a really really shitty thing, an-and I just want to start over" Kate had laid her hands in her lap as she spoke to the girl trying to find the right words.

"You didn't even come to his funeral" Indigo's eyes dropped along with head as she recounted the memories.

"I didn't think you'd want me there" Kate spoke honestly as she looked up at the girl sitting across from her.

"My dad died and then you pushed me away! Did I do something? Every night I waited for you to call—or-or text me, do anything! You were my best friend Kate! And when my life completely turned upside fucking down, you left!" Indigo's voice had clear anger behind it as if all of this was in the current time when it happened. "Can you at least tell me why? Why you pushed me out? Did I fuck up and you were too scared to tell me? I was so confused Kate" she shook her head as she started picking at the skin around her nails.

Kate had a reason for why she did what she did, it was a shitty reason, but she had one nonetheless.

The truth was that the blonde had grown too fond of the brunette. When she was a junior and she herself was a senior she started developing feelings for her, like more than just friends feelings. But with everything happening with her dad she didn't want to add something more to her plate, so she kept her mouth shut and hoped that if she stopped going around her that the feelings would dissipate. And then after she left for college it became easier to ignore the girl, and then her dad died and she wanted nothing more than to reach out, but she was terrified.

"It wasn't your fault. You did nothing. I'm-I'm sorry. It was me and my stupid head getting in the way of being there for you and I regret what I did everyday" Kate's voice was full of regret as she spilled her heart. "I got in my head and thought you didn't need me—or want me around anymore, so I left you to yourself"

"Why would I want that?" Indi finally looked up at the girl for the first actual time.

"I don't know...I thought it was for the best" Kate shrugged.

"But why?" the girl kept pressing trying to figure out the real reason.

"I can't tell you" Kate shook her head staring down at her hands. For one, it was a dumb reason and she knew that, but two, she didn't even know if Indigo liked girls that way and she would never want to make her uncomfortable.

"So, you still want to keep me out of what's going on in your head? Fine, this was stupid" the girl rolled her eyes as she stood up walking away not daring to look back at the girl. She felt tears forming in her eyes as she quickly walked to her car. And as soon as she was inside they started to fall. Every emotion she tried to hold down from the past years filled her brain as she sat there.

She picked her phone up clicking on Ysa's profile before hitting the call button, the sound of the phone ringing made her want to cry even more, "Please pick up" she whispered to the phone her voice practically broken. But all she heard from the phone was, "This is Ysa, sorry I can't come to the phone right now, leave a message." The girl let a curse out under her breath as she put the phone down into the cup holder before driving off.
