|| INDIGO'S POV ||

We quickly made our way to Kate's car as it wasn't parked super far away. She quickly unlocked it throwing her stuff in the trunk as I sat down in the passengers seat waiting for her to get in as well.

I watch her through the car windows as she walks over to her side of the car, the wind making some of her hair fall on her face. I then hear the noise of the car door opening as I watch her sit down and start the car before looking over at me, "So, what'd you wanna talk about?" she asks looking down at her hands picking at her nails.

"I want to apologize for how I reacted" I start as I play with the string on my hoddie. "When you asked to talk...I thought I had made peace with everything after all these years, but seeing you in person it just made things different, I guess. I want you to know I wasn't planning on going there to yell at you" I continue as I move my focus to her, but her eyes are still staring at her hands as she nods to show she hears me, "I really did want to have a conver—a civil conversation with you, but I don't know what I happened. My emotions got the best of me and I blew up. I'm really sorry Kate" I apologize which finally makes her lift her head up to make eye contact with me.

Theres a few beats of silence until I hear her voice, "I get it" she says softly, "It's been a long time since we've seen each other. I had a lot of emotions come back when I saw you again in person, and I'm not mad at you for how you reacted. If what I did to you happened to me...I honestly don't know if I would've been any better, and I probably would've been worse" she has a small laugh escape her lips which makes me smile.

"Ok, good" I respond with a smile, "I really want to be friends again, and as much as I tried to act like I didn't, I really really miss my best friend" I tell her before she brings me into a tight hug over the car consul. I quickly wrap my arms around her neck allowing myself to melt into her like how I had for many years prior. As soon as we pull away I look at her with a big goofy smile still lingering on my lips.

"What?" she asks cocking her head to the side as her face carries a smile as well.

"Nothin...I'm just glad we're back" I honestly tell her still having a smile.

"Me too" Kate's voice was now quite quiet as she responded still having a grin on her face. "You wanna grab food before I drop you off?" she asks and I nod my head eagerly as she hands me the aux cord to plug my phone up.
