"I'm confused. Are you psychic or clairvoyant?" Caroline asked Bonnie curiously as the three girls walked down the hall. Bonnie was filling Caroline and Mari in about what her Grams had told her.

"What's the difference?" Mari laughed. After yesterday's events, Mari wasn't sure if Bonnie was taking this psychic stuff seriously or not, so though it would be best to approach the topic with some light humour.

"Technically," Bonnie sighed. "Grams says I'm a witch. My ancestors were these really cool Salem witch chicks or something. Grams tried to explain it all, but she was looped on the liquor so I kinda tuned out. Crazy family? Yes. Witches? I don't think so."

"Well, feel free to conjure up the name and number of that guy from last night." Caroline sighed dreamily.

"I didn't see him, you did." Bonnie laughed. "Why didn't you just talk to him?"

"I don't know, I was drunk."

"I don't even understand why we're folding pamphlets and handing them out for this stupid thing. Literally tilt your head and look up to see the comet. What's so difficult about that? Why do people need an instruction manual?"

"Jeez Mari, you okay?" Caroline asked, eyeing the brunette from across the table outside the Grill.

Mari slammed the half-folded pamphlet down on the table and rubbed her hands over her face frustratedly, "Tyler is just being a dick. I heard he went after Jeremy earlier, so I apologise on his behalf, Elena."

Elena smiled sympathetically, "You shouldn't apologise on your brother's behalf, Mari."

"He's just - ugh! He needs to pick on someone all the time, he always looking for a fight. I can't wait for the day he actually picks on someone his own size and gets his ass handed to him. He will stay away from Jeremy, E, I'll make sure of it."

"Mari, it's fine. Jeremy's being acting out, he might of even provoked him."

Mari was immediately shaking her head, "Oh no, no, no. Don't put this on Jeremy. He's a kid and he's just lost his parents. Tyler is just a dick."

Mari felt an uncomfortable air settle over the table at the mention of Elena's dead parents. She chewed the inside of her cheek anxiously and internally swore at herself for bringing it up. Caroline, as if sensing the mood, quickly chimed in, "Bonnie! What does your Grams have to say about the comet?"

Bonnie quickly responded, "She says the comet is a sign of impending doom," Mari raised an eyebrow and signalled for Bonnie to continue. "The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there were lots of deaths. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity."

Caroline rolled her eyes, "Yeah, then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens."

Sensing an argument building between Caroline and Bonnie, Mari jumped in to re-direct the conversation, again. "So Elena! You and Stefan, huh?"

"Nothing happened, Mar." Elena replied, the words barely leaving her lips before Caroline was interrupting with, "You and Stefan just talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss, or touchy-feely of any kind?"

Mari wrinkled her nose in distaste, she wasn't a prude but it just felt odd given the circumstances. "Care, c'mon."

"Nope, we didn't go there." Elena replied, focusing on folding a pamphlet in front of her.

"Not even a handshake?" Caroline probed. "I mean, Elena, we are your friends - you're supposed to share the smut!"

"We just talked for hours."

"Okay, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already! Okay, it's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy. Sex." Caroline wiggled her eyebrows suggestively at Elena.

"Profound." Elena retorted.

There was a beat of silence, then Elena was getting up from the table.

"Where are you going?" Bonnie questioned.

"Caroline is right," Elena replied, causing Caroline to share a smug look. "It is easy. If I sit here long enough, I'll end up talking myself out of it instead of doing what I started the day saying I was going to do."

With that, Elena turned from the table, leaving the three girls mildly stunned.

"Wait, you started the day saying you were going to have sex with Stefan Salvatore?!" Mari called out after Elena's retreating figure. Caroline dissolved into giggles besides her. "Sure, Elena gets to have all the fun. She's off having sex and we're folding pamphlets, seems fair."
