The Decepticons are one of the two primary Cybertronian factions who are soldiers and warriors who fight for destruction and conquest. The Decepticons are mainly led by Megatron.

During the Cybertronian Civil War that ravaged their own planet, the Decepticons manage to take over 85% of their planet, and later chased Optimus Prime and his small band of Autobots to Earth. After crashing, Megatron and surviving members of the Decepticons proceed to conquer Earth as well.

History

The Decepticons were formed even before the beginning of the Cybertronian Civil War, or simply known as the Great War. Originally, during Megatron's time as Megatronus, the Decepticons were his followers and revolutionaries who sought to fix the inequalities present in Cybertronian society. 

However, when Megatron's dark ambitions came to light and the Cybertronian high council turned down his request to become Prime in favor of his friend Orion Pax, he vowed vengeance against Orion and the council, before turning the Decepticon into fearsome army that he led to a civil war.

Throughout the war, the Decepticons manage to turn the tide of the battle in their favor, managing to conquering 85% of Cybertron, along with Megatron corrupting the planet's core with Dark Energon and turning the planet into an uninhabitable wasteland.

Eventually, both the Autobots and Decepticons left Cybertron, with Decepticons chasing the Autobots to Earth, but both factions crash landing in the year 1984. Four decades later, both the Autobots and the Decepticons awaken from their slumber before Megatron decided to conquer Earth as the new planet for the Decepticons to rule.

Megatron / Megatronus / D-16

VA: Frank Welker (ENG), Keiji Fujiwara (JAP)

The leader of the Decepticons. Orgiinally a worker named D-16, he became a gladiator in the pits of Kaon, where he named himself after one of the Thirteen original Primes, Megatronus (the original Megatronus Prime would become The Fallen). Soon, he became ambitious and saw corruption within the Cybertronian society and sought to put an end to it with his own rule. After leaving his life as a gladiator behind to become a politician, he befriended Orion Pax, who become a mentor to him, while also shortening his name to Megatron. However, after the Autobot High Council rejected him, he waged war on Cybertron and left the planet ravaged, with Orion Pax, now Optimus Prime, becoming his sworn enemy. His vehicle form is a Cybertronian tank, and is the only Decepticon to not have an Earth-based vehicle form.

Starscream

VA: Steve Blum (ENG), Satoshi Tsuruoka (JAP)

The Decepticons' second-in-command and air commander of the Seekers.

The Decepticons' second-in-command and former leader of the Seekers. He is known for constantly trying to scheme and overthrow Megatron as the new leader of the Decepticons, only to fail. He transforms into F-22 jet fighter.

Soundwave

VA: Isaac J. Singleton Jr. (ENG), Nobuhiko Okamoto (JAP)

The Decepticons' communications and intelligence officer. He also has many minicons inside his body, including: Laserbeak, Ravage, Rumble, and Frenzy. He transforms into Ford E-series wagon.

Shockwave

VA: David Sobolov (ENG), Kenta Miyake (JAP)

The Decepticons' first lieutenant and head scientist. He became infamous for his logical-based mindset and brutal experimentations during the war. He transforms into PARS III 6x6 armored truck.

Blitzwing

VA: Bumper Robinson (ENG), Takahiro Sakurai (JAP)

The current leader of the Decepticons' Seekers division. He is known for having multiple personalities. He transforms into a Type 74 main battle tank and a MiG-25 jet fighter, and is also the only member of the Decepticons to be a triple-changer.

Knockout

VA: Daran Norris (ENG), Yasunori Masutani (JAP)

The Decepticons' medical officer. He constantly participates in street racing. He transforms into dark red 2005 Aston Martin.

Airachnid

VA: Gina Torres (ENG), Ryoka Yuzuki (JAP)

The Decepticons' assassin and stealth mission operative. Back on Cybertron she was famous for hunting down and brutally kill Autobots for sports, and became Arcee's arch enemy after she murdered her partner, Tailgate. She transforms into Boeing-Sikorsky RAH-66 Comanche stealth helicopter.

Barricade

VA: D.C. Douglas (ENG), Kenjiro Tsuda (JAP)

The Decepticons' scout. He is Bumblebee's arch nemesis. He transforms into a Porsche 918 police cruiser.

Scourge

VA: Peter Dinklage (ENG), Tomokazu Sugita (JAP)

The Decepticons' warrior who is leader of the Terrorcon division. He is known for collecting Autobot insignia as his trophies after he kill them. He transforms into an armored Peterbilt 359 oil tanker truck.
