Chapter Nineteen 

jason happened

3rd person pov 

"mars what happened?" gar asked as he ran over to her and she turned to him. she had blood on her hands and she had tears flowing down her face 

"jason happened, they were fighting and someone shot him" she explained and she turned to rachel 

"is there anything you can do?" she asked rachel who began to use her powers but nothing happened. she sobbed and so did mars 

"no, its too late" she stated and they heard gar yell before they heard and saw bats begin to fly around them and gar turned into one 

"gar?" mari and rachel said at the same time and the bats begin to lift dick in the air. they followed them back to the lazarus pool where they saw the bats lay dick in the liquid and kamari stared. 

"rachel? mars? is he gonna make it?" gar asked and they made eye contact 

"we don't know" mars stated. they waited for him to come back up or to see him but they didn't 

"we can't help him anymore, he has to fight" rachel stated. 

"he will" gar said and he sat down next to them with a groan, kamari couldn't help but look at him worried but she didn't say anything as she saw the way rachel looked at him. she knew that everything between them didn't end on the best note and they hadn't talked in a while so she wanted to give them space 

"im gonna go look around, see if i can find anything about this place" she exclaimed and they nodded as she walked away. she didn't see anything in the room, it was a ghost town with nothing but dust and sadness. she could see the old spirits that came in and out of that place. none of them were happy, this wasn't a happy place. it was pain and sadness and hurt. she didn't know how one place could hold something so hard to handle. 

"oh im so sorry" she told no one in particulary , she knew that the people there needed to hear it and know that someone cared for them. she stood in the room for five minutes just listening and breathing, she hadn't done that in a while but she hadn't gotten the chance too. 

"MARS" gar called to her and she ran out of the room as she went back to the pool and she saw dick with rachel and gar. 

"dick" she said and she ran over to the man as he looked at her and sighed. 

"youre okay" he exclaimed as he checked her over and she smiled with a nod before she scoffed. 

"you just almost died and youre asking me if i'm okay?" she asked and he shrugged before she turned to gar and rachel 

"what happened down there?" gar asked changing the subject and mars couldn't be more grateful for him and his knowing glances

"crane can be stopped, theres still time" he said and he stood up as he began to walk away and mars stood up as fast as she could. 

"wait dick you still need to rest man" gar told him 

"anton and first street, theres an abandoned control room. find conner, make sure hes okay. unite the titans" he told them 

"unite the titans where?" rachel questioned 

"take them to donna" he told them and he walked away 

"did he just say donna?" gar asked and kamari nodded. 

"i say we just listen to him and figure this shit out" she exclaimed and they left and went to the control room. as they walked in they looked around 

"conner? conner?" gar called out but heard nothing in return 

"hey over here" rachel told them and they walked over to the girl as they saw green dust on the ground and gar made eye contact with kamari 

"what is that?" rachel asked 

"kryptonite" mars told her 

"so , conner was here. what the hell happened?" gar said 

"where did he go?" rachel said and then they heard the sound of someones voice 

"location, 89th street and keane avenue. do not come to this location. resistance no longer secure. repeat, we are no longer secure. titan on sight, leading the evacution" they said and kamari smiled 

"i know that voice" she stated 

"who is it?" rachel asked 

"its tim and if theres a titan on sight..." she led off 

"donna" gar finished for her and she nodded in agreement before she looked at rachel and they all made eye contact trying to figure out their plan. it was only a short matter of time and to know that they did it would mean nothing. kamari was stuck between wanting to help herself and wanting to run away. 

if the world stopped spinning would her mind stop too? if the world just let go for a second, would she let go? kamari didn't hate the world, she hated that sometimes she never knew what to do. she hated that the world could end and she would still be alive still trying to find a way to fix everything like always.

she would always find a way.
