When you considered your future and falling in love you never imagined the woman you would fall for would have been centuries old demon that had spent her whole existence causing pain and torture to men. It wasn't exactly something you ever thought about as even existing, let alone being the person that you wanted your mortal eternity to be with. Anya had been turned mortal and had to adapt to that life, a life that she also never thought that she would have again and then as you tried to help her live that life, you ended up falling for each other.

Anya had ended up moving in with you and the relationship blossomed from there until you ended up with a happy, if not a little weird, relationship. For the day, you decided that you didn't need anything special, instead the two of you were just relaxing in each others company. You had been watching tv whilst Anya flicked through a magazine that she had started to find interest in.

You didn't know what was going on in the article that she was reading but she begun to laugh to herself. They were soft little giggles as she looked over the words and an odd snort when she found something a little more amusing. Your attention was lost from the television and fell upon your girlfriend, unable to look away. You focused on her laughter and couldn't help but smile at the simple humanity that she was able to find even if she had done her best to fight them.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She questioned, having noticed you smiling at her.

You attempted to avert your gaze, but it was far too late for that to occur.

"I wasn't," you lied.

"You were staring at me and smiling, I would like to know why," she demanded, closing her magazine and putting it down on the arm of the sofa.

"I like your laugh," you shrugged.

Anya furrowed her eyebrows at you, not sure why you would comment about her laughter when it was something she didn't try to control or formulate into anything.

"It just sounds so beautiful and I like it when you're happy, sometimes I just get distracted by how happy your happiness makes me," you said, trying to make how you felt make sense to her.

"Thank you, I guess."
