You were beyond excited to be back at your apartment. It had been a long day at work and you were relieved to be able to just get in the shower and was away the stress of your workplace and try to make it seem as though life was easier.

Seen as you lived alone, you didn't care much about the state of your apartment nor of yourself when you were there. As you made your way from the front door to your bedroom, you slowly discarded garments, starting with your shoes and jacket, to your jeans, bra and socks. By the time you reached your bedroom, you had your half-unbuttoned shirt on and knickers, ready to rid yourself of those for your shower and change into some comfortable pyjamas.

You opened your door to go and grab your nightwear, but your room wasn't how you had left it this morning. The window was open with the lock snapped from it and still allowing the evening breeze to blow through. That alone would have concerned you out of fear of an intruder but seen as that person was sat on top of your bed and sadly you knew them, so you weren't as worried as someone else may have been.

On top of your bed was your girlfriend Faith, reading one of the magazines that you had left on top of your bedside cabinet for before bed reading. Although the two of you had been dating for a while, you hadn't given Faith a key, mainly because she'd lose it and you knew she wasn't a fan of boundaries anyway so would let herself in with or without one- as she had done currently.

"You do know this is breaking and entering?" You asked. "And it wouldn't be for the first time either."

Faith peered up from the magazine and shrugged her shoulders. "As if I'd choose the law over you."

You rolled your eyes at her as you continued to head over to your chest of drawers to find your pyjamas.

"I'd still appreciate it if you didn't break into my house. I'm going to have to pay someone to fit fix my window lock now," you frowned at her.

"Well you were late home from work, and I didn't want to wait outside," she stated as though that was a justifiable answer.

You let out a sigh, knowing it wasn't worth arguing with her.
