Breathing rapid, sweat running, you were unable to calm down after the torment that encircled your mind. Your skin was clammy with the cold sweat covering you as you attempted to regulate your breathing but to no avail.

"You okay?" Faith asked, jumping onto the bed to be by your side.

The lamp was on at the desk, a knife and a pile of stakes under it, explaining Faith's late-night plans before you were rudely disturbing her. You couldn't regulate your breathing as tears fought their way out, streaming down your face uncontrollably. It was clear that Faith was out of her element in comforting you, but she did what she could.

Faith's arms wrapped around you, steading you, forcing you to stop shaking and melt into her embrace. She repeated that everything was okay, keeping you calm. A hand ran through your hair, not caring that it was laced with seat, just hoping you were feeling better.

Your sobs subsided, silent tears continuing to pool in your eyes and drip along your cheeks.

"What's wrong?" She asked, her voice calm, yet cracking in uncertainty of keeping her voice quiet and calming.

Your head shook, unable to force your voice out. Faith gave you a tight squeeze, keeping you close for a moment, until you were able to take a deep breath.

"You okay now?"

"I'm sorry," you whispered.

She gave your shoulder a firm slap, the closest thing to supporting you that she was completely comfortable with.

"What happened?" She questioned.

"I...I had a nightmare," you admitted, unable to look her in the eyes.

"Can you tell me what happened?"

You nodded, taking a moment to try and compose your thoughts.

"You were killed by a vampire," you whispered.

It hurt to think about as the dream was terribly graphic and it was one of you biggest fears to lose Faith seen as she did a rather dangerous job in being the slayer. Faith rolled her eyes which confused you.

"You don't have to worry about something like that," she laughed.

"What?" You asked, trying not to let yourself cry again.

She gave you a tight hug, kissing the top of your head.

"I am a good fighter, barely ever get a scratch in any fights. You don't have to worry about me getting hurt or killed, you know you can trust me to fight," she smiled.

"I'm just worried Faith," you admitted.

"I know, but I will always come back to you."
