"I can't believe all the build up and today it'll finally come to an end." You tried to not move as Xander adjusted the flower which sat delicately pinned to the lapel of your suit. "I'm so scared, what if I pass out or vomit once I get up there?"

"It isn't ending, the build up is just beginning." Giles joined Xander in adjusting your wedding attire in preparation for you walking up the aisle to meet Buffy. "Trust me, this is the start of a long life of memories and joy for the two of you." He stepped back and with pride and happiness in their eyes, they admired their handiwork. "Look y/n, I wanted to give you something." Giles pulled a slender but long box from the recesses of his pocket and placed it firmly in your outstretched hand. "It isn't much, but Buffy is the closest thing to a daughter I have, you all are the closest thing to family that I have." Xander walked over, curious as to what was in the box and unwilling to miss the grand reveal.

Slowly you pulled open the lid, it was hard to miss the anxious and anticipating smile on Giles face as you gave the lid to Xander and pulled back the lilac tissue paper that protected the item inside.

"Oh Giles, it's beautiful." His smile grew wider and prouder as you gently held up the intricately engraved fountain pen and watched it reflect the light in a most beautiful way.

"Like I said, it isn't much but it has been passed down in my family for generations, it only seemed right I passed it down again. I hope you like it."

"I love it. Are you sure you want to give it to me? It's a piece of your family history."

"I have said already, you are all the best family I could ask for and I meant it. Who else am I going to give it to anyway?" Xander gestured towards himself but soon accepted your opinions of how much use or enjoyment he would get from a pen.

"Worry not Xander, if and when your special day comes, I already have something much more suited for you. But first, you need to have a wedding day." The doors to your secluded wing of the chapel slowly opened following a shallow knock.

"She's ready." Willow sheepishly popped her head through the gap and called you forward, ready to walk towards the next part of your life.
