A thick and musty aura had filled Willow's bedroom, her hand tightly encapsulated your own and as the heavy presence grew greater so did the bindings of her suddenly icy hand around yours.

"Something's wrong, you feel it too right?" She anxiously nodded in agreement.

"It's Buffy, it has to be, I told her not to patrol tonight." Her hand reluctantly escaped from yours so that she could search through the closest post-it noted grimoire for some kind of answer.

"I've never felt this bad before y/n, I'm really scared." You reached for her icy and colourless cheek, a stream of tears ran across the knuckles of your hand and plummeted towards the now slightly damp bed sheets, the tome shook as her hands quivered and shuddered, more tears fell and stained the century old, battle-scorn pages.

"Hey, hey." Your caressed her cheek with your hand but her gaze failed to shift from the plethora of pages cataloging curses and cults of times past. Before she had even finished looking through one of the books she had tossed it aside and started on the next. Grabbing Willow by the chin you turned her head so she was forced to look at you. "Willow you need to listen to me. We go to Giles and tell him what's going on. He'll know what to do."

"I don't think we have time to find Giles, this is here to tell us that somebody is in danger, it's not you, it's not me. There has to be some kind of spell to figure out who..."

A leather-jacketed figure swept in from the hallway.

"You two are so bloody innocent, 'oh not me, I couldn't possibly be in danger.' You do make me laugh."

"Spike!?" Willow reached into a drawer that sat in her bedside table and pulled out a simple cross. "Don't come any closer, I have a stake in here too!"

"Oh stop it Willow." He reached over and grabbed the cross, no smoke and no pain.

"Buffy is going to come any minute! Wait... How did you get in here?"

"Oh bloody hell, vampires need to be invited in don't they?" Spike planted himself on the chair that sat in front of Willow's desk and with a smug grin proudly proclaimed. " How lucky for me that I don't seem to be a vampire anymore." Your heart sank, there was nothing between you and him except Willow and she appeared to be frozen in fear.
