A/N:Yes, the title itself is cliche.

So everyone has these weird movie like scenarios in their lives.

We'd gone to the Andaman and Nicobar islands located in the Indian ocean for a holiday. Of course we were excited, what with it being a popular tropical destination. But my mom was excited on an entirely different level, because her childhood best friend was supposed to be living there.
This part is kinda funny. She'd lost her number and couldn't find it even after turning the entire house upside down. So she found her on Facebook and sent her a message. The thing is, my mom herself doesn't use Facebook much, and it turns out her friend's account was created by her friend and she never opened it after it's creation.
So my mom, cursing her friend for not checking her Facebook chats, was hoping to find her in the 450,000 strong population of the capital, Port Blair.
Being vegetarian and eating only in veg restaurants was a hard part. There were a total of 3 veg restaurants in town, and my sister, being naturally attracted to the one with the fanciest name insisted that we go there.
So we went there and ordered and began eating. The whole time, my mom was scolding her friend- 'Why aren't you at the restaurant on a Sunday night? Why are you so diligent that you cook on Sundays! Why don't you pop into the restaurant!?'
We were all humouring her, and good naturedly teased her, asking if she'd checked whether no one at any of the tables was her friend. She shook her head 'no, they weren't', and I briefed her with my opinion that it was highly unlikely we'd meet her, and we continued eating. I was deep in contemplation, imagining what would happen if her friend really appeared.
Well, you probably all guessed it already.
I was pushing around the food on my plate and suddenly, unexpectedly(at that time, to me), my mom shrieked out her friend's name. I was understandably flabbergasted. Was my mom's friend really here or was she imagining stuff now, or was she trying to prank us? I slowly turned around and saw that my mom's friend was indeed here, and what's more, at the table right next to ours!
My mom got up and so did her friend, and I thought they were going to hug. What happened instead was that her friend hit her, hard, on the arm and demanded why she hadn't told her she was coming to the Andamans.
Meanwhile, a description of our expressions is something that is required. My dad was chuckling and shaking his head, while my sister was curiously looking at the scene. My sister later told me I looked like a surprised goldfish, but I refuse to believe that. I like to think that I had on a disbelieving expression instead.
My mom's friends family, on the other hand, looked honestly clueless, like the 'what on earth is going on here' clueless.
And then the rest of dinner was spent with my mom catching up with her friend, and the dads talking to each other. As for me, I kept on shaking my head and asking 'how?'and replaying the first scene and chucking disbelievingly.

I'm now pretty sure that I'm never going to forget this trip, not only because of this but the goat that attacked me (which was scary)
So maybe all those cliché stories are justified when they say they're based on real life, but I'm going to disregard that part and still continue ranting on how annoying cliché books are.
So, that was one of the most crazy coincidental situations I'd experienced. Do you have any?
