Chapter 3: Vayen's Original Form (Lucy's POV)

My eyes snap open and I look around. My eyes didn't have to adjust to the light because the room is dark. I sit up. Cold metal brushes against my skin and I hiss at the touch. "Hello?" I call and I hear footsteps clicking in the hallway. A familiar disgusting smell hits my nose and I grimace. "Vayen." I growl and the cell door clicks open to him.

"Hello Lucy." he says in a familiar voice. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it was so familiar. "I know that voice, but where..." I mumble to myself. Vayen chuckles a bit before making a couch appear and sitting down in it. "So you do recognize my voice." He says. "I feel like it has been years since I've heard it-" "Yet it has been with you all you're life." Vayen finishes my sentence. "All that is true. Do you remember when your parents gave you Michelle? I was there. Or how about when you made you father a rice ball and he turned it away? I was there. Even in that family portrait, I was there."

I process his words through my head. "That can't be true! All those moments had my dad in them and he's dead!" I yell at him and he laughs. "If Jude was dead then why would I be standing here?" Vayen says and my breath hitches. I don't want to believe the first thing that pops in my mind. "Did my dad save you recently?" I ask and he smirks "You're avoiding something." Vayen rolls his tongue. I shake my head "Y-You don't m-mean-" I stop and Vayen nods. "Lucy, I am your father." Vayen alters his appearance to look like my dad. "You will never be my father." I say with venom in my voice.

Vayen laughs and I look away. "Layla, Mom, would have told me..." I whisper. "She couldn't have told you!" Vayen cackles "She didn't even know!" Vayen keeps laughing. "How about I tell you a story?" How about you go away. Vayen looks at me with da- no Jude's eyes and I scowl. "You are a horrible person both ways! I don't want to hear your stupid stories!" I yell. Vayen hits me in the face with his foot and me being chained up, could do nothing about it. I crash into the wall behind me. "Well you have no choice on the matter." Vayen gives me a dirty glare and sits back down in his chair. I struggle with the chains as Vayen opens his mouth to speak.

"Once I was a man named Jude. I had no money and usually wandered around aimlessly, looking for work. One day, at the trading guild Love and Lucky. I met a beautiful woman named Layla." I grit my teeth at the mention of her name. "I instantly fell in love and started a business to earn money to marry her. I did and had a child named Lucy. A few years after Lucy was born, Layla told me a terrible secret. Layla was actually a dragon who used Celestial Magic. She told me that she would have to return to her dragon form soon and would one day teach Lucy the art of Celestial dragonslaying. I started to research the celestial dragon and the slaying and found that it is nearly the most powerful magic in world." I gasp at the thought of me having a magic that powerful.

"I researched ways to collect this power. I didn't want Layla to leave me, so I tried to take her magic away from her. Layla managed to slip away and I was left with a little brat that will soon be a huge magic source greater her mother. I continue to gather money and learn dark magic and gather information. After you left the house and I 'joined' the trading guild, I became what's known as the powerful Vayen." Vayen laughs and I just stare at him. "Did you even think that it would make mom happy if you just let her go?" I ask. Now it is his turn to stare. "It could have and I still would have as much power." Vayen cackles and I roll my eyes. "I used to think you were a terrible person, but now I think you are just heartless. If you really cared for mom then why did you put her through all this suffering?" I yell at Vayen.

He laughs at me and picks me up by the head. "My dear, sweet, Lucy. You will know why soon enough." Vayen cackles again and throws me into a wall and a fog fills the room and Vayen starts to disappear. "Sweet dreams little Lucy Heartfillia." A whisper flows through the air and I fall asleep.
