Before anybody could really realize it a week had passed. This Friday wasn't very special for many people, but for Evan it marked the day before he finally got to have time with his mother. The only thing that really ruined his excitement was the time he was spending with his mother was going to be held as far north as possible. Far enough north here WiFi doesn't exist, and where everyone knows each other on a last name basis.

As he packed for the trip his phone began to ring. Evan sighed as he left his bag on the floor, slumping onto his bed and reaching for his buzzing phone. The name on the screen was enough to confuse him, but of course he still clicked answer. "H-hello?"

"Hey Hansen, I'm bored," Connor spoke on the other side of the line, "And since I've got nothing to do... I was wondering if you would want to hang out?"

There was a split second where Evan was going to say yes. He wasn't sure why he was going to say yes so quickly. After all, he barely knew Connor... at least Connor now. He only remembers middle school Connor, but high school Connor was different. "I'm going north this weekend. I told you didn't I?"

Connor thought for a moment. "Yeah. You did. I must've forgot! Well... maybe we could do something once you're back?"

"Y-Yeah! Sure. We can make plans when I'm in the car coming home or something." Evan stuttered. He wasn't sure why he was agreeing to this. In all honesty he was terrified to get to know Connor again, considering for the past few years he's been getting bullied by him.

Pause.

"Well- I- uh... I better finish packing-" Evan mumbled, hoping he wouldn't have to repeat himself.

"Kay. Talk to you later, Tree nerd." Connor said, brining back a nickname from middle school.

The call ended and Evan resumed his packing. He ended up double, even triple checking what he had packed before finally going downstairs with his bag, telling Heidi he was ready to go. Soon enough the two were in the car, heading up north to a beaten up cabin in a town nobody near home would recognize just by the name. For a good while the ride was just music, and of course Heidi occasionally singing along to whatever song was playing, but after the playlist that was playing had gone through about half of the songs she somehow decided to try and talk with Evan.
