1 stick butter

3 tbsp. shortening

1/2 c brown sugar

1/2 c sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla

1 3/4 c flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/2 tsp. salt

1 c chocolate chips

Mix butter, shortening, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla, one at a time, until creamy.

In a separate bowl, stir flour, baking soda, and salt.

Combine and mix well.

Stir in chocolate chips.

Bake at 375° F for 10-12 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
