What would buttermilk pancakes be without a good syrup? I got this recipe from the amazing fancyferret but I'm cutting it in half. When I make the recipe, I actually cut it to 1/4 because the bottle I have to put it in is really small and can only hold that much.

2 c Sugar

1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar

1/2 c Water

1 c Boiling Water

1 c Corn Syrup

1/2 tsp. Maple Flavoring


Cook the sugar, cream of tartar, and water (first 3 ingredients) in a pot on the stove.

Slowly add the boiling water.

Add the corn syrup and let boil for about one minute.

Remove from heat and add maple flavoring.

It tastes really good warmed up and honestly, you'll never want to buy syrup from the store again!
