↳ HOW TO COMBINE GIFS

FIRST THINGS FIRST ! !

i know that not everyone has access to adobe photoshop ( and that it can be a bit pricey ) so here is a tutorial on how u can combine gifs using photopea <3

the example i'll be taking u through is one that i originally made in adobe photoshop. it was much easier for me to recreate this one than come up with something completely new, and i wanted to get this tutorial up as soon as possible, so that's why the final product might look a bit different. PLEASE DO NOT STEAL IT ! ! it's apart of a larger gift that i'm making for gemma's johnny storm fic and i will literally sob if i find out someone's taken it xx

warning : please ensure your gifs have the same amount of frames or this will not work.

STEP ONE : open up a new project on photopea in whatever size you'd like▬i used 500x199 for this example.

STEP TWO : go to file ➜ open ➜ select your two gifs of choice

( these r the ones i used )

STEP THREE : ensure your two chosen gifs have the same amount of frames! this is very important▬i can't stress that enough. if one has more frames than the other, delete the extra frames until they have the same amount.

STEP FOUR : select the tab with your first gif. from there, select layer ➜ duplicate into... ➜ then change the destination to be the blank project u created ( the one in my example is called icarus ) ➜ select OK.

STEP FIVE : go to your blank project and select your first gif. from there, select edit ➜ transform ➜ scale and then play with the gif sizing until it looks how you want it to!

STEP SIX : repeat steps four and five with your second gif.

STEP SEVEN : click on whichever gif is on top in the layer channel ( see below ). from there, select layer ➜ raster mask ➜ add ( reveal all ).

STEP EIGHT : a little white rectangle will appear on the gif group after the above step. select the brush tool, making sure the colour is set to black, and erase parts of the gif until they blend in a way you like!

STEP NINE : selecting the top layer group, go to layer ➜ animation ➜ merge. this will ensure that on export, the gifs run at the same time, and not one after the other <3


( ADDITIONAL ) STEP TEN : if you erase too much of the gif, simply change from the brush tool to the eraser tool and go over the area with that.

( ADDITIONAL ) STEP ELEVEN : if you would like to add colour around the gif ( seperate from a psd ), simply add a new layer ➜ change the blend mode to colour ➜ then paint around the faceclaims!
