⠀⠀⠀⠀Kanoin Asa has sailed from island to island. She has remembered as many faces as she has forgotten. In all the years and years she has spent at sea with her parents and sister, no island compares to the neverending sea━the sea might as well have been her home.

⠀⠀⠀⠀The sea has never stopped being her home, even when her parents finally decided to settle down. They built a house by the beach, a short distance away from the centre of the island's main town. The island was small and the people were nice and welcoming, and before Asa knew it, she knew the island like the back of her hand and remembered the faces of the people in their town. She didn't want anything to change, but nothing lasts forever. . .

⠀⠀⠀⠀And one day, that house by the beach didn't make her smile anymore. She didn't know what her dream was anymore, not with her father's blade in her hand instead of her sister's hand. (I didn't earn this blade. I'm not worthy to wield it. I never will be.)

⠀⠀⠀⠀Then, she ends up sailing with a green-haired man wearing a haramaki. She swears she has seen him before somewhere, with his green hair and all, especially his three katanas. (But where does the third one even go? She questions.) Unlike him, she told him her name with no delay. It wasn't until they reached the shipyard of the nearest island that he finally told her his name with "Pirate Hunter" attached to it. Roronoa Zoro, Pirate Hunter. But for some so-called Pirate Hunter collecting bounties left and right, he was running low on Berry. (Already?)

⠀⠀⠀⠀She finds herself stuck with Zoro for another day at sea, from one island to another. Then another day, from another island to another. Then a week, and then another week, and she's sailed them from island to island and he's been collecting bounties as fast as he's spending his Berry (and losing his way back to her sailboat). Then another week, and before he knew it, he was catching ride after ride in her sailboat, and a month and a half passed.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Asa has sailed from island to island, spending days and nights with him on her sailboat. Zoro has forgotten as many faces as he has remembered, but seeing her face every day keeps it fresh in his mind. It works. They work. She can steal, he can kill, and they can both get Berry.

⠀⠀⠀⠀No island compares to the neverending sea, and no star compares to the warm sun. She's never felt more at home than when she's out on the water, sailing. It looks like he's sticking around for a bit longer. (But not forever, she's certain of it.)

✶⠀I introduce to you Dear Sun & Sea! So.......... Hi Hey Hello. Zoro/Mackenyu brainrot has taken over my entire brain and still continues to refuse to leave my brain [sob] (but honestly?? I'm not complaining :P) The synopsis was not the best so please excuse that.

✶⠀I enjoyed the live-action of One Piece so so much that actually exceeded my expectations. With all the love and effort the cast & crew put into OP:LA, they did the original material justice :D Also, can I say just one thing? Mackenyu as Zoro <333 (The cast in general <333)

✶⠀Zoro & Asa (ZoAsa™) will be a painstakingly slow burn bc I cannot and won't write anything other than slow burn :P But romance comes second to Asa's character journey and development because all I can say is that I can't wait to flesh out her character and backstory :)) I'm going to enjoy writing a fic for One Piece.

✶⠀Arin (<3) is Asa's faceclaim, but more specifically her look in the second season of Alchemy of Souls, but S2!Cho-yeon is lacking gifs [sob]. Fun fact!! Asa's surname, Kanoin, is taken from Genshin Impact's Shikanoin Heizou, while "Asa" is taken from Chainsaw Man's Mitaka Asa. (Also!! I swear the gif size limit will one day be the death of me [sob] it is literally the bane of my existence......)
