Delaney Chen was Beacon Hills' princess. The star cheerleader. Everyone adored her just as much as they adored Lydia Martin and ever since Stiles Stilinski was eight years old, he couldn't scrub the thought of her out of his mind no matter what soap he used. He romanticized every move she made and every time she spoke he imagined flowers falling from her mouth. When his mother died Stiles didn't go to school for a week but when he came back, it was the first time he ever felt Delaney's touch. She hugged him and he still remembers the sweet smell of her. They're fifteen now, and she still smells just as sweet.

Her green eyes, her tangly curls, and the beauty that is her smile were all things that boy loved. Scott always told him he was delusional but Stiles would rather sit in his room and be enveloped with the scenarios in his head than talk to her. He didn't care; the delusions were warm and comforting. It's not like they would ever be together because every time he showed up at school Delaney was holding hands with Zeke Mendoza.

Delaney Chen is not perfect, she just knows how to make a mask look like her real face. She was born in a haunted house filled with cobwebs and made of rotting walls. That house birthed her fucked up. Anyone from the outside looking in would see her house and her family as the prettiest in the town but they never see what happens at the dining room table.

Her father was a rich man that saw having children as some type of job and her mother was always having an affair that her father chose to ignore. Both parents set impossible standards for her and when she didn't meet them, it felt like it was the end of her life. She wished she could live with her older sister who left Beacon Hills for New York the second she turned eighteen but a deep dark part of her resents her for leaving her in the lion's den. Having both parents isn't always the best thing because every time she hears her father's footsteps she flinches.

She is fifteen and she'd rather be dead but she's already standing right there. She is the garden and the grave.

Delaney has been missing for the past 2 months. After the last Lacrosse game of freshman year, she went missing from her house. Her mother told the police that she left to go console her friend and never came back. Even though she wasn't a perfect mother, she always tried to be there for her. That woman wept, prayed, and screamed until her throat went raw. Yet, her daughter still isn't in her arms.

After month one, everyone was convinced that she was dead but Delaney's mother practically lived at the police station, making sure that they were still looking. Stiles was devastated. It didn't matter how little he knew her, but he felt like his heart was ripped out of his chest.

School started again and the energy was depressing, the halls echoed with Delaney's voice, and the air still smelled like her. More weird things began happening after parts of the body of a random woman was found in the woods and about a week later Delaney's was found too.

She was pale, covered in bites and blood, and she no longer had a pulse. She must've been dead for at least a few hours. But, the second Noah Stilinski was getting ready to call the morgue her eyes opened and she began walking like it was nothing. How can that be?
