In the northern Laptev sea the sun set behind a group of clouds as the gentle calm ocean waves lapped up against the shoreline, it was quiet-peaceful even, as a thick sudden fog began to roll in from an unseen location, bathing the surrounding sea in the mist.

It was, as stated-was very thick, but one could almost see a massive glowing object moving through the fogbank, escorted by two very human-like shapes which seemed to skate across the water.

----------------------

Bloodborne sighed as the engine for his small motorboat puffed one final time as it ran out of fuel, he was wanting to have a nice little chat with whoever decided to fill this boat with only a quarter full fuel tank.

His engine went silent and his blood effects had already worn off so he just sat at the front of the boat listening to tiny waves lap up against it with the rocking of the boat-it had a calming effect on him.

After what felt like hours however, he felt a large presence and a ship's wake sound behind him and he turned around and cursed his luck as he saw a vessel appear behind him-bearing RAT markings as the destroyer-a mainstream warship that bared a strong resemblance to American destroyers.

It sounded it's horn as it turned its course to that of interception as it slowed down nearby.

A voice sounded over it's PA system.

"Attention convict-this is the RAT destroyer 21, the Anagram, we know you are out of fuel and have no-one coming to get you, surrender now for immediate execution" said a spokesperson from the ship.

And in response Bloodborne-the cursed ancient warrior from his homeworlds past.

Gave them the bird.

In response Bloodborne figured that they probably got pissed at that, he figured as he spotted the main gun turret beginning to turn towards him and something told Bloodborne that it was fully loaded.

And finally after a few moments it fired, releasing a shell with a loud bang.

Bloodborne may have had his blood magic worn out by now-but his natural training wasn't even close to being diminished.

Rapidly whipping out one of his energy swords, he swung in a sideways arc and sliced the shell in two-each half slamming into the water behind him before two smaller explosions splashed out behind him.

He figured that the ship had already reloaded its gun and prepared to fire again as he raised his blades as a gust of wind whipped by.

"Do it again if you fancy eh?" asked Bloodborne as he prepared himself for the next blow.

Another horn sounded as Bloodborne cursed his luck, as behind the destroyer in front of him-sailed at least a dozen more RAT destroyers and what seemed to be one submarine that had begun to submerge under the water.

"What was that you were saying convict?" taunted the ship-commander of the destroyer in front of him.

"Do it again if you fancy eh?" repeated Bloodborne.

"Smartass.." mused the commander as the gun took one last final adjustment in aiming.

Suddenly a thick fog began to roll in seemingly out of nowhere, quickly enveloping everyone and everything in the mist.

"What the-what's going on!?" asked the ship-commander.

"Unsure sir-hold on we're detecting a massive object moving at high speed towards us, we're detecting engine noises-meaning it's a ship-but our readings are giving off signals that don't even make sense!" said a radar operator.

"What do you mean!?" asked the captain.

"Readings indicate that it's massive-bigger than our destroyers-but our sensors are detecting energy signatures that aren't even human to begin with-gravity seems to cave in around the object, not to mention the sounds are quiet, reflecting its already highly advanced technology.

"What's its bearing?" asked the captain.

"Heading to location 1-8-9-32-21-31-that's straight at us-its running at flank speed and seems to be heading for an interception course with our ships-!" said the radar operator.

"All ships-focus your weapons on this new-target and prepare to fire-" said the captain.

After a few moments of silence and adjustments, the radar operator suddenly spoke up more alarmed this time.

"I'm detecting a rapid spike in energy around the ships bow-I can't get a good signal but they seem to be focusing themselves into three spots-close to one another-wait a minute..sir we got a problem-I think whatever it is is preparing to fire some form of energy weapon-!" said the man.

"An energy weapon, are you sure?" asked the captain.

"Oh don't worry-you'll know what it is in just a second here" said a soft female voice through the PA system.

"What the-WHO SAID THAT?" demanded the captain.

A simple giggle was the only response as energy readings spiked even more and three red dots appeared in the fog ahead of them.

"Sir-there about to fir-!" began the operator, but something else beat them to it.

Suddenly three red beams shot themselves straight out of the fog and impacted directly through the bridge of the destroyer-immediately turning it into a fiery geyser.

The captain of the second destroyer looked on in horror as a massive shape drifted out of the fog, red lines decorated the hull as a ship almost identical to that of a world war 2 battleship, drifted further and put itself in front of the convicts small boat-dwarfing it easily, it's triple mounted main gun turrets began to shift form somewhat as parts began to glow as the turrets turned and focused on several other destroyers-including his own, directly in front of the bridge, stood a girl.

The girl had long brown hair, and wore a light red-almost pink dress, with a large hat that hung down by her side, her most striking feature was her eyes, they were dull blue, and seemed to take in everything at once-yet nothing at all, they clearly focused in on the RAT fleet-yet she seemed sad, distant, as if she had something else on her mind.

Surrounding her was a cluster of glowing transparent screens, she seemed to watch them for a moment as she blinked slowly before holding out her right hand.

And within an instant, all four of her main turrets fired their three main cannons at once, some shots even blew straight through some ships and took out the ones behind them.

A few of the remaining ships tried to fire back as they barked away with their five-inch main guns, but found themselves stopped short as an unseen force blocked the shots from hitting the ship itself-like a bubble had appeared around it preventing the shells from touching the hull itself.

After a few more moments one ship fired off a missile, and almost instantly a small part of the ships deck opened up and fired a missile of its own, glowing red at the tip and leaving a red/black colored trail behind it, the missile intercepted the RAT missile without issue, as the girl focused on the few remaining ships and fired her cannons again, finishing off the surface fleet.

Bloodborne rolled his shoulders, he was a bit relieved that his distress beacon had been picked up, and that they had come so quickly-maybe they could be relied on and trusted.

"Arizona here, heard you needed some assistance?" asked the girl on the battleship looking down at Bloodborne with a gentle-yet again distracted expression

"That'd be very much appreciated," replied the warrior.

"Shinano, I-401, what's our status?" asked Arizona, glancing out towards the water.

"My air patrols are reporting limited movements from RAT, but we do have a pair of jets heading towards us at high speed, want me to deal with them?" asked another voice.

"I'd like that yes" replied Arizona simply

As the two jets appeared over the horizon and angled downwards to attack, a stream of small bullet fire appeared from above and peppered the two jets, until their wings were full of holes and they shuddered in the air before promptly smashing nose-first into the water.

The assailants flew overhead, and to the surprise of some-were world war 2 style Japanese planes-A6M Zeros to be exact, except that they were roughly the same size as a remote control plane you'd find the average citizen using in a field.

The one responsible for these plans was a simply dressed human in a Kimono, with long light brown hair that reached down to her lower back, she had pale green eyes that scanned the horizon, but in her hands she held a large bow and with it a quiver full of arrows, these arrows were strange as they were tip less-and colored on the end, and around her waist was a ring of metal-with what seemed to be tiny anti-aircraft weaponry, on her left arm was a miniature aircraft carrier airstrip that hung limply off her shoulder.

This individual is Shinano, she is a human who possesses the soul of the Japanese world war 2 carrier of the same name-thus turning her into the reincarnation of the warship.

"Planes have been taken care of-I-401 what's your status?" asked the carrier.

"Just finishing up a RAT sub that tried to fire a torpedo at Arizona-not that it would've done much mind you!" replied I-401.

I-401 was much like Shinano-the reincarnated soul of the Japanese world war 2 ship-except she was a submarine instead of a carrier and also went by the personal nickname of "Shina".

A few seconds after she finished replying a large geyser exploded out of the water mixed with a few metal scrap pieces, and a girl with short-darker brown hair wearing a tank top and short-with her own metal armor, raised herself out of the water and stood on the surface, she also held a large spear in her hands.

"We're in the clear now I believe, my sonar ain't picking up anything else." said the sub as she surfaced.

"Same here, my air patrols are saying we're in the clear now-Arizona got anything on your scanners?" asked Shinano.

Arizona thought for a moment, and shook her head slowly, she had the best sensors out of all of them.

"No. we are in the clear like you both have stated, but we don't need to stay here much longer, there are bound to be more-and potentially stronger ships and other forces heading to our position here shortly." replied Arizona.

Arizona was also a ship-but vastly different, she was a member of the "fleet of fog" a fleet of AI warships that were exceedingly powerful.

As Bloodborne climbed aboard Arizona and the three ships turned around, Arizona took one last glance over her shoulder.

She missed her sister, but she was a weapon-nothing more, she may of had a physical body, but she was just an AI designed for one major thing-the destruction of anything deemed to be her enemy, she didn't even know how she came to be-or where she came from, just simply came to be from a massive fog bank that gave her and her other fleet members her name, she was initially from another reality where she mainly fought against humanity, but it always felt wrong to her, she didn't hate humanity-in a way she admired and respected them, but still-she felt that the war wasn't needed, she didn't comment on it-but she knew that she was here for a reason.

She had been plucked from her universe by some being called "The Beginning", and all she saw of it was a bright blue aura and a voice that she felt even within her very essence.

After she found herself in this world she-for a time was alone as she sailed the seas, before she found the rest of the "rebels"-they didn't say anything, but she knew that she intimidated them-even their stronger fighters had a degree of intimidation towards her.

Arizona couldn't blame them, being an AI source she could hack into human equipment and technology like Interface with ease, her primary weapon systems were gravity based-proton cannons with enough power to fire beams miles and still hit with nearly perfect accuracy, access to hundreds of homing missiles, high-angle defense lasers, dozens of other weapons and a energy shield called "wave-force-armor" and being a battleship-she was tremendously powerful.

Her shields at max strength were easily strong enough to resistant point-blanket nuclear blasts, and could recharge even after a period of time, she was even able to travel up to 60kph on the open ocean thanks to her ultra-advanced engines, her trump card weapon was her "super-graviton-cannon", in which she opened up her hull itself and could fire a beam of pure energy that was strong enough to at least for a period of time-rip apart gravity and the spectrum of reality-all while resulting in a beam that-yeah you get the idea, did she mention that she could also submerge like a submarine?.

With this much power she had again-couldn't blame the others for being scared of her, but she at the end of the day, just wished they wouldn't, she had saved them many times already, she did trust them, so why did she feel like they didn't trust her?.

Either way-all she wanted was to be with her sister again.

------------------------------------------------

Jackal held an object in his palm, it was round, almost like an amulet, but was cracked and dark-it seemed to have once held a powerful source of energy, he looked down at it as if held a deeper meaning to him then one might know.

A footstep sounded behind him and Jackal glanced behind him before placing the object down and off to the side, out of sight before he turned around to see a soldier named Echo appear around a corner quickly.

Echo was a marine, a part of "Bravo Halo" squad, a group of marine specialists who were known for their mix of electronic warfare and unconventional combat.

Echo himself was the groups main radio operator and despite having no really-supernatural powers, was easily capable of hacking into most electronic systems easily-though he had to take the "long way" with it since he couldn't hack technology by just looking at it like Interface and Arizona.

"Sorry to barge in like this sir-but we got a problem" said Echo

"What kind of problem?" asked Jackal.

"The kind that if we don't do something here in the next hour-this war will change and not for the better" Echo stated.

Jackal tilted his head and nodded for Echo to lead him.

A few minutes later they stopped at a screen.

"A few moments before I came to find you, one of our F-117's codenamed "Cloudwing" detected movement on the ground near the front "gate" of the city, thanks to the cameras we installed on his aircraft, we however found it to be..this" said Echo zooming in on the picture on said screen.

Jackal took a moment to study it then cursed.

"Shit..this complicates a lot of things..we knew that they'd make a move eventually..but didn't realize that it'd be this fast.." said Jackal.

Ever since RAT took over the city, this earths military hadn't even tried to reclaim it, trying to seemingly figure out what even happened before they did anything, until now as the camera showed a small group of both Russian and American troops making their way to the gates to meet up with a small set of RAT honor guardsmen.

"Seems to be maybe diplomatic in nature..?" asked Echo.

"Since when is RAT known to be diplomatic..wait what are those?" Jackal asked, pointing to the very edge of the monitor.

"Bringing it up now..oh hell" asked Echo.

"What is it?" asked Alisa who had been walking besides Nova and Interface down a hall.

"Cloudwing detected the first official movement from this world's militaries since we got here, on-top of that they seem to be heading towards a diplomatic mission with RAT as we speak, and we know how RAT likes to be diplomatic," said Jackal.

"We got another problem, those are missile launchers mounted along the walls and hidden in the rubble, once those troops get close their gonna get blown to pieces, then they will probably respond in force to RAT's aggression, and maybe even target us as hostiles-turning this into a three way war and this entire city becomes a free-fire zone, not to mention all the families still kept hostage in this city." said Echo not looking up from the screen.

"Shit-well-what do you need us to do?" asked Interface.

"Prepare a small group for an attack, and contact siege squadron, they'll be able to respond the quickest, Arizona, and the rest should be back here within the next half hour, we'll deal with it as we see fit then" replied Jackal.

The three nodded and turned around and ran off.

"I'll stay here and keep tabs in-case anything happens" said Echo.

Jackal nodded in reply and took one last glance at the screen before sighing to himself.

Guess it was time for a first encounter.
