Avneet

After they all left, i too decided to leave for college. I can't let my personal issues to be heavy on my studies. Now my only focus is on to complete my father's dream. I took a hot shower to calm my tense nerves. I may not show it to others, but i too feel hurt. In past few months everything started to change, he started caring for me and it was more then enough for someone like me, who hadn't been cared from childhood and i too started liking him.

Yeah i accept that i started liking him, but now what! Everything is ruined now. I know what happened was not his mistake, it was the circumstances, but still it hurts to see that some other woman is carrying your husband's child and the woman is my cousin too.

I  got dressed and went down, aunt and roshni were already there having their meal, i decided to ignore them and went to kitchen to prepare a coffee for myself.

I was pouring the boiled water in the cup when i heard footsteps coming towards me, i didn't turn to look who was it.

"So how are you doing my child?" came aunt's annoying voice but i didn't reply her and continued doing what i was doing.

"You bitch if i am talking to you, then you have to answer me, you can't ignore me" she said and harshly pulled me from my elbow. Its enough, now i will not let her rule over me, the avneet who was scared of them is gone.

I pulled my hand from her grip and held her jaw tightly

"You listen to me old woman, i am not that same avneet who was scared of you, actually i was never scared of you, it was only my parents picture that was making me obey all your orders, and accepting what were you imposing on me but  now that the picture is with me, you can't black mail me anymore and don't you ever think to put your filthy hands on me because i guess you wouldn't want to mess with a girl who is black belt and can break your bones in a snap of finger, so stay the fuck away from me and my family." i said and pushed her hardly leaving her jaw. Now I have to sanitize my hand, i thought.

Her face was worth seeing. I guess she didn't expect this. All the colour was drained off from her face.

"Now get the fuck away from my path, i have more important work to do then wasting my time on you." i said and walked away while bumping my shoulder hardly with her, which made her stumble.

"You know what you can stop me but what about fate?" her voice came and i stopped.

"You heard that right! See even god wants them to be together, they were to marry each other but instead of roshni you got married to him and now see fate brought them back together with some other way, shouldn't you take it as a clue and leave them both or you want  another kid to suffer like you without parents, because if you will stay then the baby has to be with one parent at a time, like this he or she will never get the love of both parents, do you want that?" she asked me and left the kitchen leaving me in a turmoil of emotions.

She is right, if i stay then the kid will suffer like me and i don't want anyone to go through what i had gone through.

I  came out of my thoughts with a hand snapping in front of me and it was Lucas, my driver

"Mam are you alright? I was waiting for you for 20 minutes but you didn't come, so i came to check on you, you will be late." he said and i checked time, i was definitely going to be late.

"Yeah you are right Lucas lets go." i said and left.

When i reached college, it was only 5 minutes left for my biology lecture, so i ran towards my class. 

I reached the class and sat on my fixed seat and i was glad to my teacher who hadn't fixed anyone to sit next to me. Our prof. still didn't come so i was reading my notes when someone came and sat beside me making me snap my head towards the person.

"Hey Avneet!" it was Daniel. He is the popular boy of the college, my class fellow and my friend who is very flirty and the biggest prankster, but he is good from heart, he do flirts but knows his limit.

"Hey Daniel." i said and smiled at him.

"Oh god am i dreaming the most beautiful girl of the college just smiled at me? Where did the sun rise from today!?" He exclaimed dramatically. See i told you, the biggest flirt.

"Stop overreacting." i said 

"What? I am not overreacting, its truly rare if you smile at someone." he said

"Stop it na." i whined and he chuckled.

"Okay, ok i am done." he said and raised his hand in air.

I was about to say something but the professor entered and the class went quite.

"Good morning students, so today i will be giving you a project on genetics, you can choose any topic from the branch of genetics and you have to complete it within a week and its a partner project and i will decide them, alright?" he said and the class groaned.

Then he started announcing names and i was hoping that i will not end up with a guy, because i am still not comfortable around them except Daniel.

"Avneet and Daniel." he said and i heaved a breathe of relief.

Thank god its Daniel, not some other guy.

"Wow we are project partners." he chirped and i nodded.

"So on what topic we should make it?" he asked in a serious tone. Did i forget to tell you all that he is a scholar of the college, except being a flirt.

"Umm what about Mutations?" i suggested.

"Excellent, then Mutation it is." he agreed with me.

"Okay then i am coming over at your place tonight as mine place is not in the condition to work, you know how messy i am." he said scratching the back of his neck nervously.

But how can i allow him to come to my place, Siddharth will be there and no one knows about me being married.

"Umm can we complete this in our free time at college itself?" i asked him

"No i can't do work here, whenever i work, i need a comfy environment, not this noisy college." he said and i agreed with him, even i can't work in noise.

I don't have any other choice so i agreed with him.

"Okay come over at my place at 7." i said 

"Okay i will be there and send me the address." he said and i nodded.

After that my whole day went attending classes.

When i reached home, only one thing was going on my mind that how will i be able to keep the marriage secret in his presence. I think i should tell him to not to come out while i will be working, but i don't want to talk to him, because i know if i will then surely i will  not be able to control my emotions.

"Hey Avneet."  came roshni voice and i turned towards her, but she was not alone, he was also there with her all dressed up like they are going somewhere. I looked into his eyes and he was already staring at mine. I can see the guilt in his eyes and it shocked me when i see his eyes started to moistening. 

I quickly averted my gaze and looked down.

"Avneet we are going for regular check up." roshni said and i felt pangs in my heart, but nodded nonetheless. 

Well it will be good for me too if they will not be here, then i will have no tension about Daniel being here, but i think that i should at least tell him. So i looked towards him and said.

"Mr. Nigam my friend is coming over tonight as we have a project to complete, i hope you don't mind." i said and a look of hurt and sadness crossed his eye.

"No i don't have any problem." he replied and i nodded.

After that they left and i too went to my room to get fresh. An hour later the door bell rang.

"Must be Daniel." i mumbled and went to open the door, indeed it was him.

"Hey beautiful." he said and winked at me.

"Stop calling me that." i said and glared at him.

"Why it totally suits you." he said shrugged his shoulders before entering.

"Then i will also call you danny." i said and smirked because he hates this name as this name was given by his ex who was clingy as hell.

"Not that again." he said and groaned.

"Then call me by my name." i said and he huffed.

"Okay fine! Now lets get started with the project." he said and sat on the couch.

"Fine, i am going to bring books and notes and we will do our work in the hall only." i said and he nodded.

I brought my essentials and we started working on it. No one can say that the most popular guy of the college can be the most serious person when it comes to work. We were discussing our work when we heard the door got opened. I turned my head towards door and saw Siddharth and roshni coming.

"What the fuck is happening here? Who the hell are you and what are you doing in my house?" Siddharth roared at Daniel as soon as his eyes fell on him.

"Your house! This is my friend's house." Daniel also said in the same tone.

"Mr. Nigam i told you that my friend is coming over tonight to work on  a project." i said and a look of realization crossed his face but again his face hardened.

"You didn't tell me that it was a guy." he said

"A friend is a friend, it doesn't matter that if it is a guy or a girl." i replied and he clenched his jaw.

"And tell me who the hell are you?" Daniel asked him.

"I am her husband." he replied and his eyes widen.

"What you are married!?" Daniel asked me in a shocked tone and i looked down while nodding.

"Damn, my bad luck." he said and pouted. I looked towards him wide eyed. Did he really just said that?

"What?" Siddharth shouted.

"Chill man i was just joking." he replied but Siddharth kept glaring him, so i decided to speak.

"Mr. Nigam we have to work, so if you please leave." i said and he clenched his fist before sprinting towards his room.

Roshni too left to her room.

"Why didn't you tell me that you are married?" daniel asked me.

"It doesn't matter now." i mumbled but i am sure he heard it.

"What?" he asked.

"Nothing, lets continue with our work." i said and he nodded.

"Btw your husband is hot." he commented with a smirk, but i didn't reply him and continued working.

We were working when i saw him coming down with his laptop in his hand. He went towards the dining table, sat on the chair and started his work on laptop. He do his work in his study, then why is he working here today? I thought but then shrug it off.

Whole time i felt his strong burning gaze on me but i chose to ignore it. 

After 3 hours we were finally done for today.

"Okay avneet, so its enough for today, we will continue tomorrow." he said and i nodded.

"Bye." he said and hugged me, i too hugged him back.

"Bye." i replied and broke the hug. He left and i started collecting the things. When i was done, i looked towards him, his jaw was clenched and he was glaring at his laptop screen. If looks could kill, then i am sure the laptop must have been destroyed till now. But why is he looking so angry? Maybe work stress? i thought and went to my room
