It was a hot day today, and the gang was feeling thirsty and drinking out from their water canteens.

"We'll need to find some more water soon," Brock said, "my canteen is nearly empty and I still feel very thirsty."

The others were still so thirsty too.

"This weather is ridiculous!" Winter huff, "Is there anything releated to water near here? Brock?"

Brock looked through his map guide to see if there was any place around where they could get some more water, "Ah, there is. It says that there is a spring and a village not far from here," he said, "so we can get a nice drink and some rest for a while."

"Thank goodness, I've had enough of travelling with this hot heat." May said.

When the gang reached the spring, they found out that the spring had no water.

They went to the village to see if there was any water there, but the village stream had no water and neither did the village well.

"Now what are we going to do?" May complained, "there's no water anywhere and I'm still very thirsty."

Just then a young woman came up to the gang, "Excuse me," she said, "are you all travellers?"

"Yes we are," Winter answered, "we were hoping to get some water here, but we noticed that there's no water here."

"I am sorry about that; the truth is we have been suffering from a terrible drought lately which caused our stream to somehow dry up," the woman said, "and if it doesn't rain soon, everyone in this village may have to leave."

The gang felt sorry for the village.

"Please excuse me, but do you have any drop of water left?" May asked.

"I still have some water at my place." The woman said.

The woman, who was called Mary, took the gang into her house and introduced them to her grandmother.

Mary's grandmother named Toko she was wearing a lily pad shaped hat on her head.

Mary explained that the people in the village worshipped the Pokémon Lombre.

"That's right," Toko said, "in fact the water spring outside our village has a shrine that's dedicated to Lombre."

"We saw that spring earlier, but it was dried up too." May said.

"When did this drought start?" Winter asked.

Mary explained that a few nights ago a meteorite fell out of the sky and landed somewhere near the shrine.

Then Toko explained that two Pokémon, a Solrock and a Lunatone, were roaming about the forest, "It makes me wonder if they might have something to do with the drought."

"Eh, I have a Lunatone and Solrock but they are both shiny." Winter said, "I don't think that they cause the drought."

Brock looked thoughtful. "It is true that both Solrock and Lunatone are rock type Pokémon, as well as psychic type," he said, "and like Sky said, there's no way they would cause a water shortage like that."

"May I suggest we go talk to them Brock?" Winter asked, "since they've been roaming around the forest, they might know what's causing the water shortage."

Brock thought that was a good idea and so did Mary.

"Okay Winter, Brock, you and I will go to find Solrock and Lunatone," Mary said, "Grandma, you say here with the others."

"Okay, but be careful Mary." Toko said.

So Winter, Brock and Mary went off into the forest to find the Solrock and Lunatone.

"Do you think that the Solrock and Lunatone will listen to what we have to say?" Mary asked Brock.

Mary had never seen a Solrock or Lunatone before so she didn't really know what they were like.

"Well as I said those two Pokémon are psychic types as well as rock types," Brock said, "so what they'll do is look into our minds to see if we are telling the truth. Beside we have a Lunatone and Solrock with us."

"Brock is correct." Winter added, "Don't worry Mary about it, Brock and I have meet a lot of Pokémon like that."

Just then two Pokémon turned up.

One of them a primarily orange, spherical Pokémon. It has eight yellow, rocky spines extending from the sides of its body, and multiple small, yellow stony bumps running vertically along its center. On its back are dual rocky mounds, situated to the sides of the midline. Its large eyes consist of thick, semicircular yellow eyelids through which black sclera and red pupils can be seen. A black ring with six extensions surrounds each eye.

The other s a cream-colored, rock Pokémon with a crescent moon shape. In the center of the crescent is a pointed, beak-like structure. It has deep-set, red eyes.

Solrock, the Meteorite Pokémon.
When it rotates itself, it gives off light similar to the sun, thus blinding its foes.

Lunatone, the Meteorite Pokémon.
Because it turns active on nights of the full moon, it is said to have some link to the lunar phases.

Winter walked over to Solrock and Lunatone and told them about the village suffering a drought and a very low water shortage.

"Do you think you can help us know why there is a water shortage?"

Both the Solrock and Lunatone touched Winter on the forehead and they showed her a vision.

The vision showed Winter five men sucking out water from a stream with some sort of machine, then it ended.

Winter told Brock and Mary about the vision she saw.

Mary was horrified by this news.

"Did the vision show where the men are Sky?" Brock asked.

Winter nodded, "Yes, they are in some sort of cave."

"I know what cave that is," Mary said, "it's near where we are standing now."

"Then you better take us there now Mary, there's no doubt that those men are going to do something with the water." Winter said.

Mary agreed.

Mary led Winter and Brock to the cave in the forest.

Just then Brock heard a pumping noise. "We'll follow that noise because it might lead us to the missing water." He said.

Brock was right, he, Winter and Mary came to a big water tank van and it was pumping up water.

"Who on earth would do something like this?" Mary asked.

Just then there was some laughing going.

"Quick we better hide." Brock said.

They quickly hid behind some big rocks.

The laughter came from the five men, who Winter saw in the vision.

"It's them!" Winter whispered to Mary and Brock.

One of the men checked out the water tank, "It's nearly full." He said.

"Great Bill." The second man said.

"Hey Carlos, what should we do with all the water?" Third man asked.

"Simple Burt, we are going to sell it." Carlos replied.

"Oh I get it, we are going to sell it in the shops to make money right?" Fourth man asked.

"Correct Simon."

"Where shall we start selling them Carlos?" Fifth man asked.

"We'll think about that later Humphrey," Carlos answered, "right now we just need to get all this water ready to sell in the shops."

Winter, Brock and Mary were not happy with what the five men were doing.

"Oh no you don't!" Winter shouted, "That water doesn't belong to you!"

The five men noticed them.

"What shall we do now Carlos?" Burt asked.

"We fight them of course stupid." Carlos answered.

The five men released a Pokémon each. Carlos released a Mightyena, Bill released a Ninjask, Burt released a Duskull, Simon released a Shiftry and Humphrey released an Electrike.

Brock took out his Mudkip, Lotad, Aggron, Fortress and Loudred.

Winter released Shroomish, S.Lunatone, Torkoal and S.Solrock and of course Pachirisu joined in. Seeing ten Pokémon against five Pokémon made Burt, Bill, Humphrey and Simon feel defeated but Carlos wasn't willing to give up.

Carlos ordered all of the five Pokémon to attack. But Mightyena, Ninjask, Duskull, Electrike and Shiftry easily got defeated by Winter's and Brock's Pokémon.

"We won't give up that easily." Carlos growled. He and his men were about to get into their truck, but then they all got stopped by psychic attacks.

Winter, Brock and Mary turned round and there was the normal Solrock and Lunatone.

"You came to help us?" Brock asked.

The two Pokémon nodded to say yes.

"I'm going to get my grandma and the other villagers to tell them what have happened." Mary said. She quickly ran back to the village and told everyone what has been happening and then everyone ran to the cave and some of the villagers tied up the five men with very strong rope.

"You five scoundrels will be thoroughly punished!" Toko scowled.

Winter and Brock got to work of releasing the water from the tank back into the stream at once.

The villagers were all grateful to Winter and Brock.

"I cannot thank you two enough for all of your help Winter and Brock." Mary said.

"I'm glad we were able to help," Winter smiled, "but you should really thank Solrock and Lunatone. If it wasn't for them we would never have known about the five men. Right you two?" She asked her two electric Pokémon.

"Chipa!" "Pichu!" They nodded.

Mary smiled, "I agree with that."

Solrock and Lunatone were still with them.

Mary and the villagers thanked the two Pokémon with all their heart.

Brock's Lotad, who was still outside its Pokéball, began talking to Solrock and Lunatone.

"Looks like Lotad has become friends with those two Pokémon Brock." May said.

Brock agreed.

Suddenly Lotad began to glow and then he grew into a bigger version of himself.

It was a bipedal Pokémon that is mostly aqua-colored with a green pattern extending from the sides of its head down to its feet. It has stubby, round ears, and a red bill-like mouth. There is a large lilypad on its head, which has a notch in it and resembles a sombrero. It has long arms with red fingers and a thumb on each hand. It has green feet with three toes.

"A Lombre." Max said.

Lombre, the Jolly Pokémon.
The evolved form of Lotad. It has a mischievous spirit. If it spots an angler, it will tug on the fishing line to interfere.

Solrock and Lunatone congratulated Lombre on its evolution.

Seeing his Lombre become close friends with Solrock and Lunatone made Brock decide to catch Solrock and Lunatone so that they would be friends always, so he asked the two Pokémon if he could catch them and they agreed.

So everything was all right in the end

Mary and her village got back their water.

Brock's Lotad was now a Lombre and Brock had a Solrock and Lunatone of his very own now.

---------------------------•••---------------------------

It was a horrible, stormy day today and the gang was taking shelter in a cabin.

"Phew what a storm." May said drying her wet hair.

The gang had got caught in the rain before they entered the cabin.

"Ah Tomo, Brock and I have seen worse, haven't we?" Winter said.

"You're right Sky." Brock said.

"Yeah the worst storm that we had in the past was the type that could ruin a whole island." Tomo said.

"You're right." Winter said.

Suddenly there was a thud on the door.

"What was that?" May asked in fright.

"Must be somebody knocking asking for shelter." Brock said.

Max bravely opened the door to see who knocked, but it wasn't a human; it was a Pokémon.

This Pokémon was a blue bird and it had white wings that looked like cotton.

"Guys look it's a Swablu and it looks very hurt." Max said picking up Swablu.

Brock examined it at once, "It's got a broken wing," he said, "it must have got struck by the storm." Brock got out his medical kit from his bag at once.

Winter found a stick near the cabins fire place, "Will this do as a splint Brock?" She asked.

"Yes that's perfect to hold Swablu's wing in place while it heals." Brock gave Swablu some medicine and bandaged its wing. "Okay, now Swablu just needs to rest and then it will be fine," he said, "and since the storm isn't letting up soon, we should get some rest ourselves."

"I agree with that idea because I do feel a little tired myself." Winter said with a yawn.

So it was agreed; the gang got some rest.

While everyone else was asleep May kept on keeping an eye on Swablu, she found it adorable, "Let's check you out Swablu." She whispered.

May opened up her PokéDex:
Swablu, the Cotton Bird Pokémon.
Swablu loves cleanliness and is quick to wipe off any unclean surface with its cotton-like wings.

"You could be helpful with me cleaning my bedroom at home Swablu." May chuckled. Then she fell asleep too.

Everyone, including Swablu, slept through the whole night until it was the next day.

The storm had stopped by then and it was a beautiful day today.

Swablu was feeling much better by then.

Brock took off the splint and bandage to check Swablu's wing.

"How is it Brock?" May asked.

"Well it looks a whole lot better now, so it should be safe for it to fly again." Brock answered.

Everyone went outside so that Swablu could try to fly again, but Swablu felt a bit stiff to fly because of its injury last night.

Winter knew what to do, she sent out Taillow to give Swablu some wing exercises.

Together Taillow and Swablu flapped their wings, until at last Swablu was able to fly off the ground again.

"All right you're flying again Swablu!" May cheered.

Swablu flew down onto May's head and it looked like a second cap.

"Looks like Swablu is attracted to you May." Max chuckled. May begged Swablu to get off her head.

Soon it was time for the gang to leave.

May started to say goodbye to Swablu, but Swablu didn't want her to go.

"Hey May, if it doesn't want to leave then it's a good idea that you catch it," Max said, "besides Swablu's evolved form Altaria is very beautiful of course."

"You're right, I remember seeing an Altaria before." May said, "It was Snow's Altaria though." Winter blinked, "I saw it with my family in the Kanto Conference League, it was powerful and beautiful."

Winter chuckled, "Altaria is one of my strongest Dragon and Flying Pokémon May."

May nodded and agreed with Max's idea, she captured the Swablu.

Swablu's PokéBall transported to Professor Birch's lab because May already had six Pokémon on her.

With the storm over and May's capture of Swablu the gang continued on their journey.

----------------------------•••--------------------------

Today the gang had come to a town called Cottonton Town and it was famous for its cotton and wool.

Apparently their wool and cotton was the softest in all of Hoenn.

But the gang wasn't interested in that; they were interested in the contest that was held today and May and Winter had just signed up.

"Pi, pichu, pi, pichu, pi, pi, chu!" (Luna, I want to enter this time, please.) She said on Winter shoulder.

Winter and Pachirisu blinked, "You want to enter this time?" Pichu nodded, "I don't see why not, but you'll need to lower your electric attacks."

Brock and Tomo was worried now about the contestants against her.

"This isn't good or bad either. Right Brock?" Tomo asked the breeder.

"I don't know Tomo hoping Pichu doesn't overdose the electric attacks like last time at the Johto League opening battles." Brock answered the boy.

Tomo nodded, he remembered the thundershock attack that Pichu released leaving the field completely destroyed.

Everyone that witness it was afraid and shocked on how much the power was used from a Pichu.

"Pichu!" She cheered happily.

Pichu wanted to have a chance to be in a contest.

May decided to use an electric Pokémon too and she picked Minun this time.

"If I win this I will my fifth and final ribbon." Winter said.

"As for me I'll have my second ribbon." May said.

Suddenly there was a smirk from behind them.

"You two are entering with electric types?" A voice said.

A voice belonged to a young woman with long pale blonde hair.

"Yes we are using electric types." Winter said not liking her attitude, "Got a problem with that?"

"Not of course," The woman said, "I too will be using an electric type. But seriously your puny Minun won't stand a chance against my electric type Pokémon especially that small runt Pichu of yours."

Pichu twitch same with Pachirisu.

"I take it that means you will be using an Electabuzz right?" Winter asked calmly but was pissed off.

"You're a clever girl." The woman said.

Winter was correct, she was going to use Electabuzz.

"I'll see you kids in the contest." She walked off.

"Who in the world was that woman?" Tomo asked not liking how mean she was insulting other people Pokémon.

"I've heard of her," Max answered, "her names is Angelica and she thinks herself as the Princess of electric type Pokémon."

"So she's an electric type Pokémon trainer." Brock summaries it up.

Max nodded, "Yeah but get this, they say that she only owns the toughest Pokémon like Ampharos, Jolteon, Raichu, Magneton, Manectric and Electabuzz." He explained, "As for the others well she condemns them weak, especially Pichu and Elekid."

Winter twitched, "Oh yeah, well Pichu and I will have to teach her a lesson then," She said, "Pichu has fought Pokémon bigger than her before so we know what to do." Winter grinned.

"I don't though. I've never battled an Electabuzz before." May said worriedly.

"Don't worry May, just do what you can in this contest." Brock encouraged.

"What I'm surprised about is that she hadn't evolved her Magneton into a Magnezone." Max said.

"What's a Magnezone?" May asked.

To answer May's question, Max grabbed Winter wrist where her Xtransceiver was and type in Magnezone, the image popped on the screen.

Magnezone looked like a flying saucer and it had a red eye as well with a normal eye on each side of its body and it had three big magnets.

Winter suggested that Angelica probably didn't know about Magnezone. "I guess she doesn't know that Electabuzz can also evolve into a Electivire." She said. "I have one from trading."

"I remember, I saw your Electivire in the Johto league battling against Ursaring." Max grinned, "It was wicked awesome."

"If she doesn't know about Magneton and Electivire then seriously, she still has a lot to learn about electric Pokémon." Tomo said.

-----•••-----

Later that day it was time for the Cottonton contest to begin.

Vivian showed off the Cottonton Ribbon after doing the usual announcement; this ribbon was white with a light blue outline.

May was out first and she called out her Minun.

The judges and audience were surprised to know that May's Minun was shiny.

"Okay Minun use swift." She said. Minun fired some stars out from its body. "Now use shock wave Minun." Minun gathered up some blue electricity and then released it to hit the swift attacks. The stars burst into little yellow particles of light and there were also blue particles of light because of the shock wave attack.

"Wow that that was a good way to use Minun." Max said amazed.

Brock nodded, "Yeah May has learned how to work with electric Pokémon."

May got a score of 26.5.

A few contestants after May it was now Winter's turn, "Let's do this Pichu." She said.

Pichu jumped off Winter's shoulder and ran onto the stage, "Pichu!" She said ready to perform.

"Alright let's start with electro ball." Winter said. Pichu launched nine electro balls into the air and she used iron tail to pounce onto the electro ball.

The audience was amazed how a Pichu and use powerful moves at its current stage.

The girls awe and gushing at the cuteness of her how she was dancing on the electricity ball.

"The way that Pichu uses the ball to show of her cuteness of dancing, is sure working." Tomo commented.

Max nodded, "Yeah that's not all, Pichu use iron tail and electro ball. Which amazed the audience, I don't blame them since Pichu's rarely use a powerful moves." He explained.

Brock and Tomo agreed.

"It's correct most Pichu's can't use, it's due to their oddest of shocking themselves after using an electric attack move." Brock said, "They can't control it probably."

"Alright Pichu shock waves." Winter called out. Pichu launched a blue electric attack at the nine electro ball and it shattered making a picture of Pichu's face.

The audience love it including the judges, it showed them that Pichu has control over its attack without fainting.

Winter got a 30.0, a perfect score.

After Winter was Angelica's turn. She did use an Electabuzz and she showed off her Electabuzz's thunder punch and thunderbolt attacks, by having her Electabuzz fire thunderbolt fist and then attacking it with thunder punch.

"Goodness me, she really likes showing off her skill as an electric type trainer." Max said.

"Yeah, this will be tricky for May," Brock said, "but for Sky I don't think so."

Winter and May saw Angelica's performance.

"That Electabuzz may be hard to beat Winter." May said worriedly.

"Not bad I'll comment on that. That's true, but that doesn't mean we should give up though." Winter said.

"Your right." May said.

The results came in; six contestants made it to the second round and May, Winter and Angelica were three of them.

Winter, May and Angelica were both against the other three contestants in the first battle round, but it showed that May might end up fighting against Angelica in the second battle round.

"Oh dear, then I will be battling Electabuzz." May said seeing the results.

"Oh don't worry May, just do what you can," Winter said, "but do not use electric attacks on it because Electabuzz have the ability to absorb electric attacks."

"Okay." May replied.

Winter, May and Angelica easily defeated their opponents in the first round, and then it was time for May to battle Angelica.

May's Minun and Angelica's Electabuzz were out on the stage.

'Okay so I must remember not to use electric attacks like Snow said.' May thought. "Okay Minun use swift." Minun fired a lot of stars at Electabuzz and Electabuzz got hit by them.

"You call that an attack, well watch this." Angelica snorted. She ordered Electabuzz to use thunder wave and Minun got struck by the thunder wave attack and became paralyzed.

"Oh no." May said, who knew that being paralyzed can make it difficult for a Pokémon to move.

"Now my darling Electabuzz use focus punch on that rodent."

May told her Minun to try and dodge, but Minun was too paralyzed to move.

Then Electabuzz threw a strong punch at Minun. "I get it," Brock said, "Angelica's battling technique is paralyzing the opponent and then use strong moves next."

"This isn't good for May." Max said.

Max was right, Angelica ordered her Electabuzz to use thunder punch next and then Minun fainted on the spot. So May lost.

Winter saw everything in the battle. "Her Electabuzz is not bad but she realises on power too much." She stated, "And I don't like the way she talked to Minun like that."

Pichu nodded, she couldn't wait to fight the Electabuzz.

Now it was Winter and Pichu's turn to battle Angelica.

Winter ordered Pichu to start off with a low power iron tail.

Angelica ordered Electabuzz to counter that with brick break.

Electabuzz and Pichu were striking each other as if they were having a sword fight.

"Okay then use thunder wave Electabuzz." Angelica said.

"Pichu use swift." Winter said. Pichu fired swift from her mouth and all the swift combine into a big star, blocking the thunder wave the star shattering and rained the small stars.

The audience was in awe of the falling stars there were like meteor showers in the night sky, making Angelica's points low.

"Amazing." Max said.

"Beautiful." Tomo added.

"Sky understands what Angelica's tactics are, so she's trying to prevent the same thing happening. Pichu shouldn't have much of a problem against it anyway." Brock said.

May, in the waiting room, was worried about Winter.

Angelica gritted, "Okay then Electabuzz use your thunder attack."

"Pichu use your tail to absorb that thunder." Pichu tail charged with white and the thunder attack it charging the tail up, "Release to the ground." She slam her tail and release the electric attack to the ground making a shock.

Angelica was really losing her patience. "All right then, Electabuzz use focus punch." She said. Electabuzz used its focus punch on Pichu, and Pichu got hit by it but she endured it.

Just then sparks surrounded Electabuzz and it got paralyzed.

"What happened?!" Angelica demanded.

Winter blankly looked at her, "What? Surely you, the princess of electric types, would know that Pichu as the ability static like its evolved form, Pikachu and Raichu." She answered.

Angelica was not pleased and she ordered her Electabuzz to use thunder punch, but it was too paralyzed to move.

"Wintet certainly knows how to battle with Pichu against another electric Pokémon." Max said.

"That's because Winter and Pichu have battled together for a long time," said Brock, "those two are a real fighting pair along with Infernape."

Just then the time for the battle round was up.

The result was that Winter and Pichu were the winners with more points than Angelica.

Angelica was not happy with this. She returned her Electabuzz and left the contest hall in an angry huff.

"That woman has still got a lot to learn about electric Pokémon Pichu." Winter said.

"Pichu." Pichu agreed.

Winter was presented the Cottonton Ribbon, making this her final fifth ribbon.

After the contest was over with the gang had a rest in the Pokémon Centre.

"That Angelica was no match for you and Pichu Winter." Max said.

"Well truthfully that woman underestimated Pichu so her loss was her own fault." Tomo said. "Pichu is Winter strongest Pokémon equal to Infernape."

"I agree," said Brock, "besides all Pokémon are strong in their own way, whether they be fully evolved or not."

"Yeah and Pichu here is as stronger than a legendary Pokemon." Winter smiled.

"Pichu!" "Chipa!" They cheered.

"Maybe now Angelica will stop underestimating small electric Pokémon like my Minun." May said.

"Maybe, but we'll never know until we meet up with her again." Brock said.

"Yeah but I'm done with Contests now." Winter said, "I got five ribbons, so the Grand Festival for me and May she needs four more to enter."

"That true." May said, "I can't wait for the next one. Snow can help now with my moves."

Winter smiled, she now has five ribbons to enter the Grand Festival and now she needs to collect all her gym badges, four more to go.

Sorry for the wait; I was working my other chapters of Yu-Gi-Oh!GX Story.

1. The Solrock and Lunatone is sort of based on the Taking the Lombre home episode a bit.

2. I really don't understand why Brock and May didn't capture the Solrock and Swablu they befriended in the anime.

3. Don't worry Luna's Magneton will evolve to Magnezone but not until Sinnoh.
Tomo's Elekid and Magby will become Electivire and Magmortar in the Sinnoh region as well.
