"Zachary! Elijah! Preston! Come on you three!" I couldn't stop smiling from the sight of those three adore kids. They were practically stuck at the hip most of the time. So much has changed since Elton and I left rehab. We both have been clean and sober for many years now. My little Emma isn't so little anymore, having married the man of her dreams and had little Preston as a result. Bernie and I spoiled him rotten.

And Elton? Well he went on to be properly loved and happy. Just like I always told him he would. David is the best thing to ever come into his life, I'm telling you. They're so incredibly happy together. They're married with two beautiful boys. And everything just felt so right. We had grown so much together over the years.

"I have dinner ready mom. Michael didn't try to burn the house down this time." Emma nudged her husband with a humorous grin, seeing his little eye roll and smile that followed, just as the kids ran into the house with Bernie following close behind them, placing a gentle kiss to my lips the minute he came over to me. I was so thankful we all still manage to gather like this.

While the kids got everything set and ready to go, Bernie and I walked into the family room to see Elton and David gazing upon some pictures of us three from so long ago. But to me, it felt like yesterday.

"Can you believe how much trouble we were Al? Even as kids we loved to start wars." I softly chuckled, standing next to Elton with a little grin on my face from all the many memories we shared together.

"We went through hell and back together. But look at us now. Loving ourselves again and living the best life possible. We made it...." And as we all looked at a picture of those two kids from Pinner with their arms over their shoulders and big smiles upon their faces, I felt truly happy. I had the best family possible. Elton, Bernie, David, Emma, Michael and the kids. It was more than I ever thought I would have. I had what I always dreamed of having as a kid. And I wouldn't change it for the world.
