the night air was nice, it was autumn after all and he loved the cold night breezes wrapping around his body and thick clothes. the parking lot was packed, plenty people walking towards the entrance, showing off their expensive outfits. some photographers behind a metal rail, capturing the moment of the people entering the big building as they posed shamelessly.

he sighed mentally at the thought of enduring such thing. he's been through stuff like these many times in the past to the point he grew to hate it. but always there was some interest behind everything, and his new client had invited him and he really didn't want to disappoint him by rejecting such invitation.

trying to avoid too much attention, he walked quickly through the sea of cameras. he smiled softly as he did his way inside. he stopped for a moment, blinking several times to adjust his eyes to the soft light inside, nothing like the crazy flashes outside. once his eyes were okay he proceeded to walk inside.

some people would recognize him and say hi respectfully. he spotted his client on the distance when he called his name. he sighed and started slowly walking towards him.

as he did his way between the sea of people he wondered if they actually enjoyed these type of events, socialité events, like press would call it. he cursed mentally the day he decided to take famous clients, he remembered how easy was his life previously, like when he used to help regular people, people who really needed help.

"ahh taehyung you came!" the man in the dark navy suit with brown hair patted violently taehyung's back. he looked at him and smiled awkwardly.

"yeah, good evening..." he said to the other people around the circle. the man chuckled and turned to look at the rest of the audience.

"a bit stiff won't you say? that's why i invited him to this party eh? loose a bit man, you're only 35 after all right?" taehyung tried to laugh but it was physically painful, however it was from the audience's like, they surely laughed at the joke.

"everyone, this is my lawyer kim taehyung." he introduced him to the small group of people in around them. taehyung smiled and bowed.

"it's a pleasure."

the people greeted him back but soon one jumped to his side and smiled widely. "from kim law firm?" taehyung gave a sharp nod as he examined the man's face.

"ahh so i am assuming you are kim taehyung's grandson?" at first taehyung frowned but then he remembered the story of his life or at least the one he had told the people. he sighed and nodded.

"i am..."

"ahh really? i met your grandfather once and i must say, the resemblance is stunning." one of the other men said, they eyed the tall boy carefully.

"don't say it... he looks foreigner, probably like his mother. don't you see those green eyes? the kims didn't have green eyes." they all looked at each other and then at taehyung, he finally nodded.

"i remember your grandfather used to wear his hair blonde though, you wear it black, is that your natural color?"

"actually yes, it's my natural color." taehyung was upset with the lack of touch these people had but he definitely wasn't surprised, after all he's been knowing them for so long. he was older than most of them combined. but he had to come up with a very good story if he wanted to keep living his lie.

"are you comfortable living here in daegu? i mean i know your grandfather founded the law firm in gwanju..."

"uhh... it's comfortable. i really like living here." he said respectfully but he just wanted the night to end.

"they need to expand, that's why they did the sucursal here in daegu... have you thought of open one in seoul? that could give you lots of money-

"ah gentlemen... you are boring my lawyer with all that business talk, please... i invited him so he can have some fun not to talk about business." joongi turned to look at taehyung, giving him a reassuring wink as he grabbed him by the shoulders and dragged him away. they were all important men, business men and taehyung have met them previously but at some point he had to fake his death, change his hair color, wear contacts and return as his own grandson. he opened a sucursal of the law firm in daegu where people didn't know him that well, just to look some comfort and try to live a new and maybe a bit different life. daegu though was the place where he was born but it has been 224 years since that so probably people who met him when he was a baby or even a kid, were all dead by now, that's why it was safe to return to daegu now.

"if you want to talk to him then lose all those wons and hire him like i did..." he said to the group of men before taking taehyung to the next room. in a way he was grateful with joongi for saving him, even though taehyung was perfectly capable of have ended that conversation by himself, he was too respectful to do such a thing. but joongi was the owner of the world, at least this small part of the world and even if he was only 35, lots of people respected him mainly because he was the CEO and heir of his father's big company, leeneul enterprises which was an entertainment company.

taehyung knew what he was getting into when he accepted him. he knew he would be more exposed and probably present in a lot of these events, he hated it but it was work and great stuff for his client portfolio, after all he promised to someone he'll try his best, and that's what he's been doing since then.

"do you like the party?" joongi smiled as he grabbed two glasses of champagne from a waiter that was passing by and turned to give one to taehyung. he looked at the full glass a bit hesitantely but joongi tilted his head with a smirk plastered on his face. it was obvious he was waiting for taehyung to drink it.

"come on mr. lawyer... don't you tell me you're taking antibiotics because i won't believe it. you look too healthy for that. come on, one drink won't hurt." he said pushing the glass of champagne towards taehyung. he grabbed it hesitantely and took a sip since joongi was waiting. he gave a thumbs up in approval and joongi smiled widely. he wasn't in the mood for drinking but he didn't want joongi to believe he was rejecting him so he complied.

"come on there's someone i want you to meet." he said leading the way. the ambiance smelled like expensive alcohol and even more expensive perfume. there were plenty people talking, some of them taking pictures. taehyung recogniced some of them as public figures.

"aishh..." he heard joongi mumbling as they did their way through the crowded party room. joongi seemed to be stressed and concerned. his head looking at all directions.

"i can't find- he started but sighed heavily as he turned to look at taehyung.

"i am going to look for my companion... stay around. i'll come to you." he said flashing a cat smile as he disappeared through the crowd.

taehyung sighed and put the glass of champagne, empty now, in one of the trays that were close to him. he toured the scene, some people were dancing, other were just talking. he rolled his eyes mentally at the situation. he just wanted the night to be over.

he stayed around, in the corners of the big hall, just looking at the people when his eyes suddenly caught something that made his heart almost stopped.

a few meters, at the other extreme of the hall to be precise, was a woman sitting on the bar. taehyung could only see her back but the hair color highlighted among all the people in the room. the shape of her body and her shoulders, the way she moved, brought a tingling sensation to taehyung's body.

he swallowed hard as he took a hand to his tie, losing it a bit, trying to get more air somehow since he was feeling breathless.

the woman ordered a drink. a few minutes later the bartender served it, she took a sip and just then taehyung saw her side profile. he felt his knees going weak and his heart beating at an anormal pace.

he took a step backwards only to feel the cold wall behind him. his eyes were widened as he tried to look for some support. the woman finished her drink and stood from the chair and walked through a door.

the black haired guy followed with his eyes but soon she disappeared. he looked around and pinched himself, just to check he wasn't dreaming. he followed her, keeping his distance, trying to not get noticed, but he needed to see her again, just to check it was real and not his mind playing tricks again.

he spotted her a few feet away, she walked through a glass door and closed it. taehyung slowly walked towards it and stood there. behind there was a small balcony with view to the city. she was leaning on the rail just motionless, looking at the city lights. her side profile was the only thing visible from taehyung's perspective.

his heart was to come out of his chest at any minute. he stared at her and wished she wouldn't notice him staring because he just couldn't stop looking at her. she was the most beautiful thing he has seen in a long time.

she was stunning. he didn't need to see her completely to know it. she was wearing a dark green gown that highlighted her loose orange hair perfectly. it was her. he was incredulous. she looked exactly like her.

placing his hand on the glass as if he was touching her, she moved on the other side and his heart jumped. it was real. it was happening. he found her.

"after 75 years... you're here. i've found you."
