Mission Impossible One Shot

Sometimes you worried about Ethan, sometimes Ethan worried about you, but most the time it was both.

It was rare that the two of you could just spend time together and not have your heads spinning with worries about the other.

That's what being in a relationship with your partner meant a lot of the time – you worked side by side, protected each other no matter what, had each other's backs and worried about each other non-stop.

You weren't a field agent, prior to meeting Ethan anyway, you preferred to stay behind your computer screen where you could direct and advise from safety.

However, after you began a relationship with Ethan you started to come out on the field more often. You and Benji worked together with the technical side of things, and if Benji wanted to stay behind then you would go out on the mission or if you wanted to stay behind then Benji would go out – to be honest, the both of you could stay behind your computer screens or the both of you could go out, it just depended on what was going on.

Tonight, was one of the times where Benji had voted to stay back at base, whilst you had decided to go out with Ethan, William and Jane.

You and Ethan were sat in a riverside café; William was sat a few tables over and Jane was sat on a bench that was right by the river.

The four of you were watching out for a suspect and a girl that he had taken, forcing her to be his 'public appearance' girl and make it seem as if they were a couple.

Your team had been tasked with both rescuing the girl and apprehending the suspect and his team.

The main priority, however, was to get the girl first so that he couldn't use her against you all.

"You know, this would be quite lovely if we weren't...well...trying to catch a creepy guy with one of our girls" you spoke into the com.

Ethan chuckled, keeping you close as he had his arm around you, "He knew what he was getting into Y/N/N, you don't take a girl from the IMF and expect everything to be smooth sailing from there" William said in response.

You sighed, and your heard Jane sigh too, "Think if it was one of us though, none of you lot would stop until you found us" Jane reasoned.

You subtly nodded in agreement "Exactly. I just...I wish this never happened to her" you sighed as you spoke to your team, and leant into Ethan "I know why he took her, she was the quiet girl in the offices and he wouldn't expect anyone to come after her" you explained.

Benji cleared his throat through the com, causing all of you to be more alert, "Suspect is at Ethan and Y/N's 3 o'clock" he stated and you saw Jane turn out of the corner of your eye "Get ready guys, I sense a storm coming"
