IZombie One Shot

Working in the morgue was fairly slow and boring, but in the least morbid way possible you did enjoy it seen as you got to spend time with your fiancé Ravi. However today you were on a strict deadline and he was pulled away to go to a crime scene leaving you to finish up and possibly work through your lunch break.

It was impossible to work though. How were you expected to do an accurate and thorough job if your stomach was rumbling at every possible second? So rather than do the responsible thing and wait until once you were finished to eat, or quickly have a spot of lunch before continuing to work, you had decided to just eat whilst you worked.

For those of a faint heart, they would likely have their stomachs turn at the thought of eating a sandwich with one hand whilst the other was prodding at a lifeless corpse that lay on the slap next to your Tupperware box.

As you took a mouthful of your sandwich, you didn't even notice that Ravi had returned.

"Don't eat over the body," he berated.

You turned around to see him hanging up his coat and walking over to you to read your notes, rolling his eyes.

"Sorry," you grinned, food still filling your mouth.

Ravi reached over and grabbed the other half of your sandwich, taking a bite and putting it back in the pot.

You gasped at his cheek.

"You bloody hypocrite," you frowned, playfully hitting his arm.

"I'm the boss," he shrugged, putting your clipboard back down on the table, and going over to the small attached office.

You placed the lid pack over your lunch, carrying it back into the small room, to have a more appropriate setting for your midday meal.

Putting the clear pot onto the tiny dining table, you turned to the tall man, raising an eyebrow at him. He smiled as he leaned down kissing you softly.

"I missed you," he said softly, still holding your face close to his.

"I missed you too, although I still don't appreciate you stealing my lunch."

He bumped your noses together slightly as he pulled you closer to him.

"How about I make it up to you then? Dinner tonight?" He offered with a smile. "However I must say it will be at a proper table without a dead body lying on it."

You laughed at his specification.

"I guess I can agree to that even if it is a bit a problem," you laughed. "But honestly I would love to have dinner with you tonight. It'd be nice to spend a bit more time together without the lingering smell of death."
