chapter one, beginning

maya has never been afraid of anything, she always ends up doing the dumbest thing you could ever imagine doing. but recently she's stop due to her interest in the new superhero, spiderman.

maya had taken an interest in the masked superhero the moment they were on the news making it her lives mission to figure out who they are.

maya had dragged her best friend elliot into the mess and they spend hours upon end following, researching and figuring out everything they can.

maya and elliot were currently sitting on mayas wooden floor under the blanket fort they had built eating they curly fries they had order. they were rewatching the new videos on youtube about spiderman trying to see anything that would be able to reveal their identity.

suddenly the opening to their blanket fort had been pulled apart.

"what y'all doing?" MJ, mayas twin sister said walking into the blanket fort. MJ was older then maya by 2 minutes, and MJ was taller than maya by 3 inches which she always uses to her advantage.

"trying to figure out who spiderman is" elliot quickly blurted out nervously as he looked away because he felt his cheeks go red from the sight of MJ. elliot has had a crush on MJ since the moment he saw her in kindergarten finding her really cute but she ignored him. maybe its just the person she is but I found him crying in the corner and talked to him, ever since that day we've been best friends. MJ nodded.

"do you guys want anything to eat? I kinda want hamburgers" maya said looking at Elliot and MJ. they both quickly nodded knowing that Maya makes really good hamburgers. Maya, Elliot and MJ all stood up walking down to the kitchen. Elliot and MJ took seats at the kitchen counter while Maya went outside to grab the meat from the spare freezer. Maya looked up at the sky seeing the sunset that was in the sky, the colours illuminating mayas face making her look like an angel,  the pink and orange tones mixing perfectly together. 

Maya walked back inside after grabbing the meat and seeing Elliot and MJ laughing together to distracted to see her walk inside. Maya walked up behind Elliot and grabbed his shoulders saying boo. Elliot let out a loud squeal and Maya and MJ broke into a fit of laughter. "I hate you so much" Elliot said in-between laughs.

after Maya finished making hamburgers and everyone finished eating, Elliot got a text and the got up. "yo its my mum, I gotta go home, thanks for letting me come over and thanks for the food Maya it was really good" Elliot said as it collected his things.

"okay, I'll see you at school tomorrow." maya said before walking up to my room to have a shower and go to bed.

Maya began walking to school after she had finished getting ready, wearing a white crop top and a brown queens hoodie over it, black jeans and her favourite pair of black converse. her headphones in as the listened to the neighbourhoods I love you. album quietly humming to sweater weather.

Peter began walking on the sidewalk noticing Maya ahead of him. he quickly ran over to her tapping her shoulder. she turned to him and he looked at her perfect skin and beautiful golden eyes as she took out her earphones.

"hey" Peter said to Maya as he readjusted the strap of his backpack. she smiled at him about to say hey before he quickly blurted out "how are you?"

"i'm good, you?" she questioned. "i'm good too." Peter replied looking at his feet.

"heyyy sweetheart" a voice called out. both Maya and Peter looked behind them to see who it was to see Elliot running over with 2 chocolate donuts. Elliot handed Maya the donut and said "here, I brought you this because of those amazing hamburgers you made yesterday.

"thank you" she chuckled to herself as Elliot and Peter did their handshake. "and please, never call me sweetheart again"

"okay, sweetheart" he said in a mocking tone as Maya put in her earphones again changing the playlist to electra heart by MARIANA, bubblegum bitch playing through her headphones as Peter and Elliot bickered next to her.

they were at the school and about to make it and they heard a horn beeping so elliot dragged maya to the other side of the road. there flash drove in his car "what's up, penis parker?"

"shut up dick-face" maya yelled wanting to punch him in the face.

the three of them walked into the school hearing jason and betty on the tv talking about the homecoming dance.

they continued walking until maya and elliot left peter to go to their own lockers. lucky for them their lockers are right next to eachother.

"okay so what if peter was spider-man" maya said as she opened her locker. elliot gave her a weird look before nodding slowly. "it makes sense because he's had the stark internship and you never know it could be a cover up for being spider-man"

"who's spider-man??" a voice cuts in, maya and elliot turn to face peter who's standing next to ned.

"you." elliot said bluntly. peter started going a bit pale and nervously laughing. "dude. i'm joking"

"do you guys have dates to the homecoming dance yet?" maya asks. "no, you" they all say in unison "no" maya replies. "well we have math so i'll see you guys later" she said gesturing to her and ned.

"bye" elliot says before shutting his locker and walking with peter to their next lesson.

"okay, so how do we calculate linear acceleration between points A and B?" the teacher said. she clicked her fingers and pointed at a student who had their hand up. "flash."

"it's the product of sine of the angle and gravity divided by the mass." flash said quickly reading off his notes.

"nope. peter. you still with us?" the teacher said.

peter looked up from his laptop from the seat next to elliot as they were watching spider-man videos off of youtube. "uh, uh, yeah, yeah. uh... mass cancels out, so it's just gravity times sine."

"right. see, flash, being the fastest isn't always the best if you are wrong." the teacher said as the class status giggling.

flash turned around and whispered to peter "you're dead." peter turns around and looks at the clock behind him, it reading 11:38.

elliot and peter entered their next class, science. mr cobwell doesn't let them sit next to eachother anymore because of how much they talked.

mr cobwell was talking about neils bohr and his discoveries but elliot wasn't paying much attention. elliot was looking at what peter was doing. he was mixing chemicals together to make a web like fluid.

then elliot realised who spider-man was.
