Pancakes on the Moon

"So what's the recipe?" asked Wukong, looking at the ingredients before him.

"You don't know the recipe for pancakes?" Chang'e looked confused at the rusty monkey and then at his mate.

"He has a restriction order away from the kitchen in our home." Macaque shrugged putting on a pinkish apron with a cute bunny pattern "He burned the water." he added with an sarcastic smug.

"It was one time!" Wukong counter, putting on a blue apron with a carrot pattern and smacking the other with his tail.

"Yeah, the one and last time I allowed you near the stove." Macaque huffed back and gave the stone monkey a light smack as well.

"Hey, hey, it's alright. I'll tell Wukong what to do then," Chang'e chuckled softly, putting on a white apron in little yellow stars and cookies "no need to fight over it." she added a bit more serious.

"Well I was hoping at least you could teach him a thing or two about cooking." Macaque sighed as he grabbed an empty bowl just to place it before his mate.

"Then it's good we're starting with pancakes." she chuckled and then proceeded to tell the recipe for them.

Wukong discreetly smacked Six Eared once more but he listened to what he had to do.

"That's all? Easy." he hummed with a cheeky smile when Chang'e ended her explanation.

"You sure you don't need to hear it one more time." Macaque raised an unimpressed eyebrow and crossed his arms over his chest.

"Pff, nah, I can do it in my sleep now!" Wukong said proudly and grabbed a few ingredients.

Macaque shot Chang'e a worried look, but she smiled in a reassuring manner. And at first Wukong was doing pretty good, a bit clumsy, having dough in his fur and flower on his face, but good. The moon's deity praised him and directed him calmly, chatting with the other monkey as well.

There was just one moment when she left Wukong's side to answer Macaque's question about her rabbits. One moment too much...

They turned to Wukong suddenly smelling something burning. And to their horror half the kitchen was already standing in flames and in the middle of all this stood Wukong chilling with three burnpans casually burning the dough that now for some reason was pink.

"What the Hell Wukong?!" Macaque couldn't believe it.

"Oh my stars, what happened?!" Chang'e asked in an alarmed and slightly worried tone.

"Well the fire on the stove was small, it would take forever for them to be done." Wukong said, still chilling and even proud "Now I can do three at the same time much faster!" he said lightly "I also added this pink thing, it smelled like peaches." he said with a wide smile.

"Wukong... it's soup." Macaque said not knowing what to think anymore.

In the end they needed to throw the dough away and make a new one. As well as cleaning the kitchen before. This time Chang'e and Macaque weren't leaving Wukong's side even for a moment.

They finally made those pancakes, but Masque decided he still prefers to do all the cooking at the hut on his own. It was definitely more safe for the small monkeys wandering around and the ecosystem on the mountain as well.
